The heavyweight on my eyes slowly lifted as I blinked at the soft warm rays coming into the room. My back hurt from the position I was laying in when I slowly sat up but was quickly stopped.
"Don't move." A small voice says softly making me peer around for the person who was speaking but I didn't see anyone. I stared down in front of me, noticing the bunched up blankets before lifting them and seeing Nava underneath them.
She wasn't looking at me, her eyes closed and her chest rising and falling softly. I slowly let the blanket back down, unsure if I was in a dream or not.

To h.e.l.l with it.
I wrapped my arms around her, holding her close and not caring that the couch was hurting my aching back. The blankets prevented our skin from touching like before but it didn't matter to me.
I was in pure joy having her with me, even if it was a dream.
"I was going to leave last night." She mumbles again as I looked underneath the covers and noticed her eyes half opened this time. Her eyes weren't looking at mine and I knew that she was troubled.
I wouldn't dream of her troubled.
I only dream of her happy smiles and wolf form.
"What stopped you?" I ask her, leaving the blanket uncovered while she blinked sleepily.
"Dawn stopped me. She made me realize some things I didn't want to realize." Nava told me before looking up at me with watery dark brown eyes. "I want to go back." She says only confusing me.
"Go back where?" I let my hands rubbed her back softly, watching her get choked up on her words.
"Go back to my home."
〰〰〰
We trekked through the forest, her wolf sniffing at the ground when glancing around and walking in one direction. I could sense her distress but she was good at hiding it.
Nava and I left the coven nearly two hours ago before the sun could cover the grounds. High Priestess Dawn was waiting for the both of us at the gate, a smile on her face told me that she was pleased with Nava and her decision.
Nava didn't tell me what it was that they spoke of, but I knew that the conversation softened her.
She started calling me by my name and not a mage she knew.
She gave me subtle hints about her emotions.
And she didn't cut off the mate bond completely, letting there be communication without actually speaking to one another.
Both of us knew how we were feeling and even though she still held onto her thoughts, this was better than being left in the dark about her emotions. I wasn't sure what High Priestess Dawn did, but I would have to thank her one of these days.
Nava stopped for a moment, glancing back at me with a frown making me chuckle.
Oh yeah.
She can hear every one of my thoughts.
I didn't hide anything from her.
Nava growled at me, smacking my leg with her tail as I snickered and nodded for her to continue with a large grin.
She narrowed her eyes at me, silently warning me to cut it out since I kept teasing her with images of us being together. I knew if she was in human form, she'd be as red as a tomato.
"Okay okay. I'll stop." I joked when she nodded and started back on her track back to her old pack.
Her wolf looked more groomed and that was probably because she took a shower before we left and had more of the food I made the night before. I noticed that some of it was gone which was probably for High Priestess Dawn's doing.
My mate was probably hungry after leaving the restroom.
I was happy that she decided to bring me to her last home, but I was upset at how much she wants to hide herself from me.
Didn't she know I would accept her whether she was a princess or the f.u.c.king wicked witch of the west?
The thought made me laugh a little bit when stepping over a branch and watching my mate's tail flick around like it was a game. She sniffed at the ground and glanced around the air, sniffing it as she moves a different direction.
It's shocking on how much she remembers from so long ago.
She told me that it would be difficult to track her original pack since it's been six years and her memory of her old pack wasn't the brightest. I knew I could very well help her find the pack she was raised in quickly, but I had a feeling that she would want to do this for herself.
Though I wouldn't lie to her if it wasn't me who was giving her the way to her old pack.
High Priestess Dawn had told me what pack it is just in case we get lost on the way and I needed to track the pack with magic. Though I am a smartie sometimes and I decided while Nava was in the shower that I would create a scent track for her to follow to her pack.
Thank G.o.d Nava told me that her pack smelt of cinnamon and ash.
Strange scent but I didn't question it.
So, we followed my trail to her pack and I knew she was growing more and more confident in her tracking skills because Nava's once tense muscles grew more laid back and playful. I wasn't sure if it was her wolf coming in control, but she seemed...
Happier.
Nava glanced at me with a curious look before staring up at the clouds that were darkening. We weren't close to the pack house but I knew that if we continued through the night that we'd make it by morning.
Though that didn't seem to settle her.
Nava shifted back into her human form, a long green cape unraveling around her as she stood up. She was wearing tight leggings with a long fluffy white long sleeve shirt.
"We should find somewhere to camp out. It's going to get dark soon." Nava says, wrapping the cape more around her when I pointed at her outfit. "Oh. This is Dawn's doing. She told me for now on, every time I shift back I'm going to be dressed. Guess my body wasn't very cute to everyone." She shrugs.
"I think your body is very cute," I said quickly, her eyes c.o.c.king upwards as I flushed with embarra.s.sment. "Right. So camping out. Let's find somewhere to do that." I quickly changed the subject while walking in a different direction.
G.o.d!
Why'd I say that?!
"You're too cute. Come on. I know this area pretty well." Nava nudged me with her arm, pushing past me in the same direction as I grinned happily.
I'm cute.
The thought was utterly dumb, but I didn't care. My glee could not be damaged now.

"Here we are. Come on. It's a little chilly but I'll set up a fire for you." I nod to the small furs in the cave when kneeling down to the small dirt pile and organizing the rocks in a circle again.
"Did someone live here?" He asks me, not sitting but rubbing his arms from the crisp coldness of the winds.
"Yeah. I did." I said before holding my hand to him. "Hand me that rock behind you," I ask him as he looked around and handed me a rock. My eyes went to the rock I was holding, noticing the one I asked for was on the ground still. "Where did this come from?" I question, not familiar with such a smooth stone.
"I, uh, kinda summoned it. I didn't know what which rock y-"
"Relax. I'm not gonna kill you." I said with a small laugh before reaching for the rock behind him. "It is not the cleanest place, but it was my home for a few months before my pack found me," I told him, using the two rocks to spark a flame. I softly blew on the flame, letting it grow as the twigs and leaves caught on fire.
Quickly, I place three logs in a tepee stand before sitting back and hugging the cape around my shoulders.
"You mean Zavier's pack, right?" Levi asks, sitting down beside me when I looked over at him and nodded.
"Yeah. They chased me back here and cornered me. Alex and Zavier were young fighters in training at the time so they went against their parents' orders and brought me back to the pack." I explain to him, a smile rising on my face. "They were supposed to kill me since I went rogue and tried killing them. It took them months to get me to shift back and when I did I was a mess." I said, reliving the thoughts and closing my eyes at the memory.
They were so naive when we were younger.
"How old were you when Zavier's pack took you in?" Levi asks, curious about my past while I leaned on his shoulder and thought back.
"I was twenty-two and now I am almost twenty-nine," I said and looked up at him. "How old are you?" I question.
"Me? I am twenty-six." Levi informs, not looking to be paying much attention anymore as I nodded and went back to leaning on his shoulder.
"You look a lot younger," I tell him seriously making him laugh.
"I'm told that a lot... How old was your daughter when she pa.s.sed away...?" He asked quietly when I took in a shaky deep breath. "You don't have to answer I ju-"
"It's okay," I a.s.sure him and pulled my legs up to my chest. "Lily was four years old. I mated with my previous mate at a young age and we didn't hesitate to start a family." I explain as he nodded and thought for a moment again, his thoughts blocked from me. The action making me feel completely hollow.
"Do you miss him...?" He finally asks, refusing to look me in the eyes when I pulled away from his shoulder and thought for a moment.
Of course, I missed him dearly.
He was my first love and it'd be stupid for me to say I didn't because everything I do is for him.
But...
I have to let go of the past... It's what he'd want most.
Slowly, I got on my knees and forced his legs to go straight before throwing mine over his. I sat down on his lap and stared up at him, his whole attention on me again when I leaned forward.
"I'm always going to miss him no matter what. Same with Lily and the child I carried at one point..." I told him honestly and let my hands roam around his chest. "But that was the past. I'm in the present now and you are here." I said truthfully, reaching for the b.u.t.tons on his shirt. "I may hate magic, I may hate your kind, and I may hate this mate bond. But I can't change that." I said, looking up at his heated gaze and letting his shirt go.
I moved one of my hands up to his mane, letting the soft hazelnut colored hair run through my fingers while my other hand wrapped around his neck.
The mate bond was forcing me to touch and be close with him. Even though I wouldn't admit it, everything I've heard he's done for me.
I can't help myself from being a little selfish.
I leaned up, letting my lips brush over his when his hands pressed in the middle of my back as if to urge me to continue. Letting myself go, I allowed myself to kiss Levi again.
This time I curled my hand in his hair forcing him to gasp. I slipped my tongue into his mouth making him groan loudly and run his hand through my long black hair.
The sparks that were running through us made me groan and grow weaker under his rough hold. It was shocking on how desperate he was to kiss me as if he was going to die if he didn't kiss me again.
The feeling washing over me only encouraging me to kiss him as he shifted us so we were on the ground. My hair spilling out of the hood of the cape when he let his hands roam around me. One of them settling on my face and the other going to my breast.
I gasped, shifting underneath him while tugging at his shirt, desperate for his skin before he shoved both my hands on the ground. His eyes were dark with l.u.s.t when he leaned down at attacked me with more of his kisses.
We were both heated at the moment before I felt him pull away within a second of us kissing. He stared down at me, his hands still holding me down with a ferrous look in his eyes.
"Did you just say you hated our mate bond?"
