Blue Screen Blues 36 Chapter 36: Ripple Effec

Ryan Finds this cute and gets up. This triggers Zephyr to get up as well.

"How was your night?" Zephyr asked.

"I'm sore as h.e.l.l right now, but I Can't wait for work today. He said as he puts on his Teal and Black Clothes.

"Well then Be safe honey" Zephyr tell him.

Ryan goes downstairs and Breanna has a gla.s.s of juice ready for him. He sees Kannell walking out in front of him and doesn't pay her any mind. She looked like she was in a hurry to be somewhere.

Ryan then Walks over to the city walls and meets his Foreman.

He was with 200 other men who were getting a morning Brief of what was going down today. Teams 1 and 2 are Destroying Segments of the corner walls, Teams 3 and 4 are destroying segments of the Middle walls and Arcane teams 5,6,and 7 are going to Crain them in place. Then he talks about Transportation teams 8,9, and 10 moving Materials.

"Remember guys, 1 section goes down, and another section goes up almost immediately" The foreman tells them.

Ryan stands puzzled wondering what team he was on.

The foreman walks over to Ryan and explains what he wants to do.

"So, here is the deal, I Know your skills and I am going to use them for this job. I need you to blast down the South eastern walls with the other fire mages and move the rubble into a pile" He tells Ryan.

"Okay that seems fair!" Ryan tells him. Ryan walks over to those walls and the 5 fire mages start casting [Detonate] On these 20-foot-high walls. They aim at the base and Start Wreaking havoc on 10-foot sections of the wall. He joins in and they start bringing the 10-foot section of walls HP down to 0 in 30 minutes.

When they bring down the wall, Ryan along with some other people from another team grab a shovel and start removing Debris and putting it into a pile. They then Level the foundation with shovels and arcane Mage teams gather around and start Teleporting the Piles of Rubble into the Ocean with [Arcane-Kinesis]

This was amazing from Ryan's point of View. They had 5 mages Focus on a pile of rubble and teleport it over the Seawall with extreme Coordination and dump it into the water with excellent Precision.

This whole wall coming down and piling to rubble for movement took only 1 hour. Then came in the big guns. The rubble movers took a mana break, and then you had 20 Arcane mages move huge wet coquina blocks that we made over night by the night shift team. They start moving these blocks and start laying them down on the ground. Then another team runs in with Cement and some type of Pipe and sticks it through the wet blocks and layers the top, and they start Laying down blocks on top of that. Using the Pipes as a Dowel rod When a Block was placed on top Fire mages then grab a Block and start heating it up to harden it into its permanent shape. This was like one big game of Tetris and Minecraft to Ryan. They Do the 10-foot base first, then after they lay down the bottom blocks, they start building up from there. When they got the Walls above 7 feet, an Arcane mage would lift up the Fire mages and then they would Heat up the wall that way. This efficient system only took them 6 hours to do that segment.

Meanwhile On the other side of the wall there were Plumbers Digging collection tanks for the new rainwater collection system.

They had other teams as well working on the other side of the wall and the plan was in a month meet in the middle and finish the job.

At lunch time Ryan was cleared to go eat lunch, and Feeling curious, he walks over to check on the girls.

The girls in the meantime were Laying down boards and finishing up the job with Marco on the roof. The girls Just got down putting the last board in and they were covered in Tar, and all Hot and Sweaty.

Misty was bringing the girls and Marco Lemonade, and Tea so they wouldn't pa.s.s out. The girls come down and talk to Ryan, and Ryan had a big favor to ask Liz.

"Hey, This Fort wall Construction project is really fun. Never thought a Fire mage would be so important in this project" Ryan said sarcastically.

"Why what are they making you do?" Zephyr asks him while giving him a Dirty hug.

"Arcane mages are moving in the blocks, and I am basically just hardening them up. He tells them.

"Hey Liz, can I get an abundance of your water? Your water has a distinct taste I like. I'm Burning through my mana Reserves like crazy" He says.

Liz smiles at him and Makes him 10 bottles. Zephyr takes off her bag and hands it to him to carry them in.

Suddenly Warren and Frostproof approach the 3 and smile at them.

"Well Just the 3 we been looking for can you all come to city hall with me please?" Warren asks.

"Sure" Ryan says.

They have a short walk to City hall, and they sit down at the table again and Lady Lake was there with a Smile.

"This isn't going to take long. So long story short, you killing Dahvie and Ponce, you stopped the Haunting of Staug at night with the Ghouls and the Shades. This means we don't need to waste time and money on keeping our demon stones charged, and at the same time means we can start expanding outside the city. I'm just going to give the 2 of you a cut of what it takes for me to spend maintaining those demon stones. In 5 years, I spend 300k gold on Replacement stones and labor to keep them charged. So, between you two I am giving you a portion of that as a reward. 50k Each. I already Gave Breanna Her fair share of the reward and shes happy as she can be. She said as she throws down a bag of 100k gold.

Suddenly Ryan does a Dance in excitement.

"This means Zephyr gets to have my fair share and I will be down to 150k in Debt Whoohoo!" Ryan yells in cheer.

Liz just hangs back and doesn't say anything.

"Wait a minute, you're the Fourth one in that party to help them, aren't you? Weren't you in jail?" Lady Lake asks her.

"I was, but Zephyr pardoned me for my Crimes Queen Lake" She said politely.

"Well I didn't bring any money for you My Darling. What is your name again?" Lady lake asked.

"My name is Lindsay Alexandria Hawthorne Your majesty." Liz replied.

"Hang on, are You the same Lindsay Hawthorne Daughter of the late Duke and d.u.c.h.ess Casey and Damien Hawthorne?" She asked her seeming Interested.

"Yes, You Majesty I am." She said with a Smile.

"Hang on here. Your Alive?" She said seeming very interested.

"Yes, it's been tough since my mother and Father Died, but I been Surviving. Made a few mistakes, but I am making up for them right now" She replies to her.

"Hang on, I dethroned your family's Status after your parents died. I thought you were dead. This is Great news to know you are alive!" She said seeming happy.

"Ya it's sad They left me rotting away in an orphanage, instead of coming to help me. But you know what am I going to do about it? It's all in the past. I just want to live my life and make my Parents proud wherever they are right now" She replies to Lady lake.

"Look I have a meeting to get to, 'll be back in a few days with your Reward Lindsay" Lady lake said with a smile.

"Warren come walk with me, we need to have a chat" She orders him as they walk out the door.

Zephyr was getting nervous, that was a big bite of his debt.

"Anyway, here you go Zephyr 50k to yourself I'm going to be a free man if this keeps up!" He teases her as He walks out the door.

The two girls then get up and walk back to Misty's house and start talking to her.

"Hey Misty, your Roof is Repaired, but may I please stay here and help you with tasks and Ch.o.r.es that need to be done?" Liz asked her seeming bored.

Misty just smiles at her and points to a whole bunch of vegetables shes pulled from her back-yard garden. Liz doesn't say a word. She washes her hands and Starts Peeling Potatoes and cutting vegetables up for her. Zephyr looks at her and seems bored. There was a freshly Slaughtered chicken laying in a bucket of water, and Zephyr also picks up on the Hint she is making a big dinner for tonight. Zephyr joins in helping Liz and takes the Chicken and starts Cleaning it. Misty was smiling at the girls and goes up stares and Grabs her three-year-old girl and brings her downstairs.

"You know what, tell you girls what. I know your trying to make amends and stuff for what happened, but Hey I am going to open up my Business Both for a few hours, can you watch Zara for me please while I am gone?" She said as she puts on her Boots.

"Sure, I love kids!" Zephyr said while peeling the feathers off of the chicken.

"Alrighty Lady Thickmane thank you very much!" She said Graciously as she hugs her kid goodbye. She then walks outside and shuts the door. The little blonde-haired girl with blue eyes comes walking into the kitchen and while Liz was g cutting up vegetables the little girl randomly hugs her leg.

Liz looks down and see's this little girl and suddenly she gets. .h.i.t by a Train full of Regret and sadness. She realizes just how much she messed up now when she killed this little girl's Father by mistake. Doing ch.o.r.es isn't going to bring her Father back into her life, and this right here starts making her cry.

"Zephyr I need to go outside!' She screams while Crying. She puts the Knife down and starts crying heavily" She runs to the back yard and leans on an Orange tree and starts weeping in regret.

Zephyr knows whats going on and can pick up signs on a heavy heart. The little girl Hugs her leg as well and she starts sharing the same Responsibility as Liz now. Zephyr on the other hand doesn't start crying. She picks the little girl up and puts her on her shoulders and smiles at her. She starts cutting up the chicken and talking to the little girl.

"Mommy has gone bye-bye again. Shes always going bye-bye!" The Little girl said while peacefully hugging Zephyr.

Zephyr a.n.a.lyzes the situation here. Now she starts crying inside but doesn't want this little girl to pick on her being sad.

"Misty's a single mom who works all the time because of Liz, and I just released her from Jail and all her charges!" Zephyr thinks to herself while Broadcasting a smile and putting the cut-up pieces of chicken on a Plate. She looks out the window and can see Liz sitting down with her legs crossed Leaning against a Tree Reflecting on all of this and crying Thinking about her parents and Zara's situation.

She takes a deep breath and walks back inside the kitchen and Starts chopping up the vegetables. She like Zephyr, doesn't want to broadcast sadness around this little girl. Liz takes the time to pull seeds out of the Items shes cutting up and sets them aside.

"Zephyr, I This is a game changer, I can't believe This. I can't believe what I have done now. Can you Start cooking this now? I am going outside to tend to her garden" Liz said while grabbing all the seeds she collected.

She runs outside and starts pulling up all the Weeds, and starts Replacing the Items that were harvested, with seeds in their place. The two do their part to help out this poor woman with the guilt She pa.s.sively dumped on both of them. They do random things for a few hours and she comes back to a cleaner home, a kid that had somone to play with, Dinner that was almost done cooking, and the garden was up to date with maintenance.

Misty had about 150 gold from sales in those 3 hours she worked.

"We took care of your house, and all that. Hey, you want to go do something tommorow?" Zephyr asked her as she picked up Zara and hugged her.

"I really can't, I have to watch Zara, and run my Supply shop. With all that work they are doing to the walls, I carry certain things they need, and need to be at my Stall at a certain time" Misty replies to her hugging her kid.

"Alright Misty. Hey If, you need anything let me know. I feel super sad now. I didn't know" Liz said regretfully.

"Well now you do. I can't fully forgive you for this, I been suffering so much without him and Raising her by myself. But at the same time, I'm Grateful my home is clean, fixed, and Dinner for me and her will be made at a proper time. I am going to take the rest of the day and spend it with my kid. I really do appreciate this" Misty said as they two girls smile at her.

"We will be taking our leave now, enjoy the rest of your worry-free day with Zara" Zephyr said while they walk out the door.

Meanwhile at the construction site…

Ryan and the Fire mages were working in overdrive and Ryan had the song: "Information Society - What's On Your Mind" On party mode. He had the Buff of the song on. The buff Provided 10% Increased Damage for knocking down walls, 30% reduced mana cost for spells, and 5% Increased Mana Regeneration.

The Fire Team and the Arcane Teams were working Really Efficiently, and Ryan was so happy this song could be used over and over every 3 Days.

The Whole Teamwork in sync to the music and Things seem really fun this way.

Bricks get laid down, Cemented and more Blocks get laid on top and Heated into a Permeant form. This was coming along very Smoothly. Suddenly Three quarters into the song Ryan gets a Brick dropped on his head, This Stuns him and Suddenly another brick comes flying at him and hits him in the Chest. He turns around and see's Kannell behind him. She was Very p.i.s.sed and not glad to see him.

She walks over to him and Drags him by the Shirt to the other side of the wall.

"You little Son of a b.i.t.c.h!" Kannell said while shoving him against the newly laid Wall. He feels the Small seash.e.l.ls behind him on his back Shatter with the impact of the throw, he looks back and the wall was still fine.

"Whats Wrong?" Ryan asked seeming confused.

"Whats Wrong? Look at this s.h.i.t!" She screamed as she shows him the hickey on her neck.

"Oh, s.h.i.t I forgot about that!" Ryan said Regretfully.

"I Lost the chance to date a Rich man because of this! It was the most awkward date I ever had! He asked me about my "Mark" I didn't even know I had! You're such a f.u.c.king a.s.shole!" She said while Screaming at him.

"Look I didn't know you had a date until after I bite you. I felt awkward and should have told you. I am Sorry Kannell!" Ryan said while Genuinely admitting fault.

"Not only that, but when you and your "Party" Killed Vedra, Dahvie, and Ponce, All the Demons Disappeared with them. We Advanced cla.s.s mages are out of a Simple job now that payed an easy 100 gold every night. Now I have to work a normal Job to stay afloat here in this town. I hate you so much!" She Yells at him. She then Picks up Some rubble with magic and throws it at him and walks away and gets back to work.

Ryan scratches his head and Feels a little sad for her. He didn't expect killing the pirates to have an Economic Downside to the mages as well.

Ryan shakes this off and gets back to work. The foreman then approaches Ryan.

"You want to try a new Position? You're doing great here Ryan! The man explained to him.

"Sure, what do you have in mind?" He asks him.

"You said Your Pretty handy with sailing, can you Make Supply runs to Ana Island and bring back Prepacked Sandbags of Coquina? We are down to like 15 blocks, so the mage teams are going to be sent home soon. Can you sail a 30-foot sailboat single handed? He asked him.

"Never did anything that big before, but I can Try. I'd rather have somone with me for my first 2 trips back and forth honestly" Ryan told him.

"Stay right here, I will be right back" He tells Ryan.

5 minutes later he comes back with Kannell who was not happy to see him again.

"Kannell here has sailing experience, plus shes an Arcane mage, so she can help you with loading and unloading the boat" He told him. Kannell smiles at Ryan and tries to not let the "Boss" know there is an issue between them. The two then hop down off the sea wall onto the Jetties that Stretch out 15 feet from the sh.o.r.e. They get in a Rowboat and someone Rows them to a Bare wooden sailboat that was anch.o.r.ed out just a little off the sh.o.r.e. They Climb on the boat and Ryan notices this ship was stripped of all but the necessary Components to save weight. This boat was a Work horse to sail as product from Point A to B.

Kannell wants to Kill him so bad right, but Breaths in and out and calms down.

They silently man their positions and start raising the sails. Then They start sailing off to the other island a mile away.

The wind was blowing on sh.o.r.e from the east so this meant going to the dock in the horizon meant they would have to tack several times in a Zig zag pattern to go upwind.

They start their close-hauled Run to the south east and the boat starts leaning hard to the left.

They sit on the sides of the boat and Ryan mans the Tiller.

"So, to be honest, I am sorry for ruining your date. I really didn't know until the last minute. Look I was a gentle man and didn't sleep with you, your always pa.s.sed out drunk every night, and I always respected you those nights we shared a room. Don't hate me forever please" Ryan tells her as he steers the boat.

Suddenly she starts crying and throwing a Tantrum like a little sad kid.

"You dont know how much of an a.s.s I made myself when I walked into his mansion for dinner! When He asked me about this, I denied everything and said nothing was there! The Saddest part was I was telling him I am a good girl, who doesn't sleep around, and is faithful!" She cried and explained like a little girl who just got dropped her Ice cream.

Ryan thinks about this Irony moment from her perspective. "I Don't Sleep around I am a good girl" She tells him while a big a.s.s bite mark is clearly visible on her neck. He laughs at humor in this. Suddenly Kannell sees him laughing at her pain, and she goes from 5-year-old girl who dropped her ice cream to a 5-year-old Girl who dropped her ice cream, and who's holding a knife and wants vengeance.

She charges at Ryan In Rage and starts Chocking him. He maintains control of the boat and after 20 seconds of Chocking him, she lets him go.

"On top of making me look like an a.s.s I have to work now! I am so p.i.s.sed at you!" She screams. She then Goes back to the front of the boat and maintains her Jib sail Up front. Ryan feels sorry for this and just remains silent and maintains his rear mainsail.

Thy sail for 15 minutes in quietly and Out of random Ryan felt like he needed to break the silence.

"I Slept with a Vampire" Ryan said while taunting her playfully.

Suddenly she looks at the bite marks on his neck and thinks to herself.

"Wait a minute, you rejected my advances on you. How the h.e.l.l did you let a Vampire…. Wait a minute. Did you Sleep with Vedra?" She asked him.

"Yes I did. She kidnapped me. I was doing stupid s.h.i.t over on her Island with your Sailboat you gave me.

"Hang on, hold up. Why are you alive then? Doesn't she like Cut off your Weiner and Roast it on a Fire. And feed it to the fish, Then Suck you dry? She asked in a way hoping that Ryan would die like that.

"No, she was a very Mature Woman like you. She was pretty Awesome, Sweet and Caring. Until Zephyr my Clingy b.i.t.c.hy "Girlfriend" came along and Ended her with my own blade. She caused a h.e.l.l of a mess" He told her.

"Ya, I heard. Ponce and Dahvie came out of the water and fired on the city. I'm out of a job now, and since my father won't let me live with him anymore because of a Problem I have, I need money to pay for an Inn until I get my own place. Everything is So d.a.m.n Expensive here in Tourterra. I want to go to Northern Sivika where things are a little cooler, and a lot more cheaper. But that d.a.m.n Disturbia Anarchy is Causing ma.s.s disturbances up there" She told him, and she loosens up her Jib Sheet.

Ryan gets ready to tack back the other way into the wind and bring them to the dock which was only 5 minutes away.

"Well Zephyr is so annoying and owns my a.s.s for that damage to the city walls. She literally Caused this mess and I am her Indentured servant as a result, and at the same time I am forced to fix the city because of a glitch on my phone Terrorized Gainer. I just want to fix these d.a.m.n walls and go Explore this world" He tells her.

"So, Lady Thickmane Loves you. That's so Sweet, when are you getting married?" She said while taunting him.

"Never, I am Never getting married. I don't even like her like that. My Feelings for her are weird because shes a h.e.l.l of a Teammate, but shes just so emotionally Unstable.

"Your forgetting I am 7 years older than you. Your lying to yourself and your lying to me. You like her, just admit it" She said while teasing him.

"Well I don't know. I like the Drama, I like her body, I like her company, and I like the affection she gives me. But I Don't really like the whole Ears and Tail thing yet" He tells her.

"So, you would Say this Relationship with her is "Complicated?" She said while Laughing.

"Very. I mean this b.i.t.c.h Owns my a.s.s. Its not even fair I'm like her slave and forced cuddle buddy. If I don't do what she says I will have h.e.l.l to pay Legally, and also If I tell her no, she will Get her way anyway. Shes so unfair" Ryan told her while he pulls in the Sheet line for the sail.

"That's not just her, that's woman in general. But hey what do I know" she said as they sail towards the Dock that's on Ana Island. They depower the sails and throw a Rope to the dock hands and they pull the ship in close to the dock.

Suddenly 5 men with wheelbarrows full of Prepackaged Coquina Sand Start loading and dropping the sandbags into the boat.

Ryan and she get out of the boat and help start filling the Boat with Cargo. Ryan loads wheelbarrows and she uses her Magic to help move bags into the ship. They evenly distribute the bags of sand and Limestone Into the boat. They load about 10 thousand pounds of product in it, and then carefully set sail back to the mainland down wind. The sail back was quiet, and Ryan decides to lighten up the mood by putting on a Song.

"Hey, you want some entertainment?" He asks her.

"I am Still mad at you" She replies.

"No, you are not. Get up and have some fun" He said as he Puts on the Song "I'm On a Boat" By lonely Island. He puts the Song on Party mode, and she smiles for the first 10 seconds with how silly the song was. But she comes to her sense and forgives him and starts Dancing. Ryan then Has the smart idea to put the song on Global mode. Then Ryan runs a Rope around the Tiller to keep it straight and Joins her in dancing. The two were laughing how f.u.c.king epic this was.

Then Ryan had the idea to put the song on "G.o.d Mode" .

The People working on the Wall a mile away can clearly hear them when He put his phone on that mode.

The two then start dancing even heavier and unaware to them, the whole working crew comes to the sea wall and looks at them. They can hear this Floating Subwoofer coming their way and Can See Ryan and Kannell Jamming out. They Laugh a little bit and get back to work.

Before Ryan gets too close to the Sh.o.r.e, he puts the song on Party mode.

The two then sail about 50 yards from sh.o.r.e to a marker. This was as far as they could sail in without running aground. They Throw the anchor down, and 15 men in Row boats come to the side of them.

"Hey, I heard you guys were on a boat" One of the Rowers joked,

"No, I heard they Were are on a MOTHERf.u.c.kING BOAT!" Another Rower said also joking.

-They start Unloading the bags and hand them down to them, and They Row to sh.o.r.e.

Unloading was a lot easier for him and Kannell since all they had to do was lean down and hand them the bags. Each bag weighed about 50 pounds, and with the boat being Rated for 10,000 pounds, He there was 200 bags of Sand on here.

The rowers could hold about 5 bags in their boat, and at the same time behind them was a Tow boat that had no one in it, and it was attached behind the rowers boat kind of like a Trailer This meant the men could hold 7 bags in the rear boat. That was 12 bags in one trip or 600 pounds.

This meant with those 200 bags on board all these 15 men could fill up go to sh.o.r.e, and 1 person only needed to make an extra trip back there.

It only took them 5 minutes per boat with Kannell Magic and Ryan manually handing the men a bag.

Kannell would Transfer 1 bag at a time carefully into the Rear boat and Ryan would hand them to the Rower. This only took them an hour 1 hour and 30 minutes to unload. After they get done with that load, another sailboat loaded with 10,000 pounds of Coquina was sailing in. The sun was going down, but Ryan waits until the boat throws its anchor next to him.

It was quitting time for Kannell, and She teleports back to sh.o.r.e without saying goodbye.

Ryan sees more Rowers coming in for unload duty, and he Flags one of them down to pick him up and take him to the other boat. One of them Stops next to him, he hops down and they go to the other boat.

Ryan climbs aboard this ship and helps this 1 guy who sailed here unload the ship quicker. The sun was going down, so they worked quick. But without magic it took them 8 minutes per Rowboat. This took them 2 hours to unload this whole ship. When Ryan was done, it was dark and a man in a rowboat with a lantern came and picked Ryan, and the other guy and took him back to sh.o.r.e.

Meanwhile in the Inn.

Zephyr and Liz were a little sad at what they have down to Misty, they order a discounted meal from Breanna for about 2 gold and eat. Suddenly Liz asks Breanna for a beer.

"Can I get a beer? Liz askes her.

"Sure, can you go give these 7 gla.s.ses' to that lady over there?" Breanna asks Liz.

She was pointing at Kannell who looked like she was working all day. She looked angry and confused.

Liz picks up the beer gla.s.s's up on the tray and carefully walks over to her and puts them down in front of her and smiles. Liz then walks back to the bar and sits next to Zephyr. She arrives back to a beer gla.s.s, and slowly Drinks it While she eats her meal.

Zephyr on the other hand thinks about the hard work they had to do today.

"Hey Sis, Can I get a gla.s.s of wine?" Zephyr asks her.

"Hang on, I Thought you don't Drink?" Breanna asked her seeming concerned.

"Long day full of Hard work and Regret. I need this." She replied.

Brenna Shrugs her shoulders and pulls out a wine gla.s.s and fills it up for her. She then hands it to her.

Zephyr takes the gla.s.s and chugs it.

"Give me another one" She said with a smile.

Suddenly behind them they hear a Kannell scream "yaaaaahhhh! Loooooooky at meeee I'm on a Moathf.u.c.kkkkkking boooooooot!" She screamed seeming hammered. She then chugs the gla.s.s behind her and comes crashing down onto the floor.

"Whats her Room number?" Zephyr asked sounding like she knows the drill.

"Room number 1, but there is a problem tonight. I don't have any spare rooms for you all tonight. She got the last one" Breanna said regretfully.

Zephyr walks over to the chick while she was still semi awake and picks her up.

"Let's get you to your room" Zephyr said while jolting her over her shoulders for a better balance point.

"Tankkks you lilly Thickhair!" Kannell said while drunk.

"You don't mind if we share a room with you? I been putting you in your bed for the past 2 days" Zephyr asks while trying to make her feel guilty.

"Surrre I don't mine. Yrrr suckssss a wwoooood pupppppy!" Kannell said while patting her head.

Normally Zephyr would growl at this and snap at her for treating her like a pet, but she really wants a room.

She carries her up the stairs, and puts her down in her bed and tucks her in. On the other side of the room was a bed for just the three of them.

"Dooo woooo seaaaaaaa this? I almosssst hadddd a dattte with a ruch man. But Thatttt Ryan guyyy left this on me and ruuunined it forrrrrrrr me." She said while crying drunk banter.

Zephyr looks at the bite mark, and then Looks at the bite mark on her breast from last night. The bite pattern matched up perfectly and Zephyr gets super angry at learning this. She smiles at Kannell pats her head and walks out slowly Fuming deep inside now.
