Da Tian Ting worked overtime. Ding Xiao Ran had a date with her boyfriend. So Da Tian Ting walked out of the work building alone.
On the streets, Da Tian Ting walked past a couple.
‘Next time don’t work overtime this late,’ the man said. ‘It’s dangerous at night.’
‘I have you to protect me,’ the woman said.
The loving couple made Da Tian Ting see clearer how much Shang Duan Hua hated her. In the past she often worked overtime. Shang Duan Hua never once picked her up from work. He was inconsiderate of her, and never gave her a gift. She was foolish to trade her love for his hate. Her tears reminded her not be hurt because of a lowlife like him again.
Da Tian Ting held her head high, and hailed a taxi.
Feng Kai Ze stopped his car on the road beside Da Tian Ting.
‘Hop in,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘I’ll take you home.’
Da Tian Ting was suspicious of the grudge holding man’s sweet tone of voice.
‘Rotten man, what do you want?’ Da Tian Ting asked.
Feng Kai Ze only had himself to blame. If he was nicer to Da Tian Ting during the times they met then she wouldn’t be weary of him.
‘My conscience didn’t let me sleep,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘I thought about how I was wrong to leave you stranded when you were injured. Let me make it up to you. Hop in, and I’ll give you a lift home.’
‘Whether you have a conscience or not, has nothing to do with me,’ Da Tian Ting said. ‘Bye. I hope we don’t meet again.’
Da Tian Ting stuck out her tongue at the man, and hopped into a taxi.
Feng Kai Ze followed Da Tian Ting’s taxi home. He wished he was nice to Da Tian Ting starting from the day he met her at the bar.
