The horses he and his father, Kaiza, rode from the elf forest were kept in a stable near the city entrance. His father rented a hovering vehicle and they headed toward their appointment. Today, Boval was being brought to meet with a Dr. Bis Mabi. He was an elf researcher, scientist, and medical doctor. He is known as an expert on elf physiology and researches into many strange diseases and afflictions unique to elves.
A few days ago, Boval's nose started bleeding and wouldn't stop until he nearly fainted. The same thing happened twice more and this put his parents into a panic. After seeking help from the elders he was instructed to bring his son to Dr. Mabi.
Boval didn't know much about Dr. Mabi; he heard from the elders he was a little eccentric. For one thing, he lived most of his life in the heart of the technological jungle very rarely venturing to the Elves forest. He seemed to prefer the atmosphere emanating from the dead machinery.
Another strange thing he heard was Dr. Mabi seemed to lack the general disposition of an elf. He acted more like a human than an elf! For elves such behavior was shocking. Boval understood why. He had already lived a long life and had four bodies. In everyone one of these experiences he always felt like himself. This time, he felt much different.
The elf body was completely natural and free of any genetic manipulation. This is what caused Boval to think this was the reason for his new experience. His physical perception of the world was changed. He could feel the natural energies around him and his senses were far superior to humans, but not beyond the boundary of the animal kingdom. The most important difference, he felt, was the calmness of his mind and the innate patience he felt. He could take in a great deal of information from his surroundings and perceive things deeply, but it did not affect the cool detachment he naturally felt.
The way his mind processed information and his natural elfish disposition impacted his personality. He was used to feeling more brash and excitable. For the last five years of his life, however, he experienced a wonderful calmness towards all things. A desire to order the chaos around him and see the true as true and the false as false.
It took them more than forty-five minutes to arrive at Dr. Mabi's office. When they arrived, they were met with a calm environment with various decorative plants, chairs, and a fresh smell. The office was colored in the colors of a forest while bits of technology were integrated throughout. Boval's father, Kaiza, approached the reception desk where I pretty middle-aged human woman worked on a computer. Currently, they were the only people other than the receptionist in the office.
The woman placed her finger up before Kaiza could speak and completed typing something on her computer. Coming to a stopping point, the middle-aged woman looked up and smiled at Kaiza.
"May I help you?" She asked.
"I have an appointment with Dr. Mabi, for my son Boval," Kaiza said.
"Of course, the Dr. is finishing with another patient, please have a seat and he will be with you shortly," she said.
Boval and his father went to the waiting room. Boval looked around the room and interacted with some of the objects. There were several mini-computers filled with different kinds of games. The games looked interesting so Boval began playing with them. Each game focused on different things. Some allowed the child to be physically active while others focused on mental exercises. The game developers were excellent. The games were both fun and engaging.
Boval couldn't think of a time when he played games. They were too bored with his superhuman abilities. Now that he was more or less mortal, he found enjoyment in the challenges of the games.
He felt similar sensations towards the end of his life when he finally lost the last bit of his superpowers. Unfortunately, he was so old by then he couldn't explore the feeling these challenges brought to a healthy person.
Finishing the games, Boval made his way to his father. It had been over three hours but they were still waiting for the doctor.
"Father, how much longer until the doctor will see us? Boval asked his father.

It was at this time, they heard the receptionist. "Mr. Kaiza and Boval, the doctor will see you now."
The receptionist leads Boval and his father to a room past reception. In the room was a middle-aged Elf reading something on a computer monitor. The Elf indicated for them to sit down.
Turning to his patient and his father, Dr. Mabi finally spoke.
"I have examined your tests and I am ready to discuss the results," he said.
"When did I take tests?" Boval couldn' help but ask.
"Of course, all of those games you played in the lobby were tests. You did very well," he said.
"Have you found out what's wrong with my son?" He asked anxiously.
"I have. Your son is suffering from Dechantium Manaxo," The Doctor said to the father.
"Dechantium Manaxo, what is this, is it serious?" Kaiza asked quickly.
"It isn't serious for now, but it could become serious. It depends on your sone Boval," The doctor responded.
"Please tell me what's wrong with him," Kaiza said.
"More or less, your son is a little too amazing, he needs to stop being so incredible so his body can develop at an appropriate rate," he said.
"What do you mean?" Kaiza asked.
"I mean, your son being a genius is killing him. He needs to stop."
"Unexpected," Boval said.
