Darling Point, Sydney.
6:00 pm.
Farah and Malika were on their way to Noah's house. Malika was talking and laughing with the taxi driver while Farah was thinking about their earlier conversation. It took them ten minutes to arrive at the darling point. They got out of the cap and looked for the east haven building.
It was a beautiful modern building with ten floors, Noah's apartment was on the eighth. They reached to the apartment door, Farah was about to knock on it, but Malika stopped her. "Hey, wait… are you going to tell him?" Malika whispered.
"Tell him what?" Farah said and stared at her bewildered.
"About the proposal." they stood in front of the apartment door, both moved their bodies and faced each other.
"No, and don't ask why!" Farah said firmly and looked away; she raised her hands to knock but Malika stopped her again. She rolled her eyes and looked at Malika.
"Come on Farah, just admit it!" Malika said and shook her hand dramatically.
"Admit what?!" Farah said and moved her hand away from Malika's grasp.
"You're confused about the proposal because of Noah," Malika blurted.
"I'm not confused… Adam just surprised me with the proposal that's it," Farah angrily whispered.
"It's not the proposal, it's Noah," Malika said without blinking.
"It's not about Noah."
"It is," Malika whispered. "You're in love with him, and I'm sure he is too."
"What?! No!" Farah said intoned.
"If you really believe that, why do you wanna hide it from him?"— Malika crossed her arms and looked at her with half wry smile— "if you're not in love with him; just tell him what Adam asked you,"
"For G.o.d's sake, I'm not telling NOAH!" Farah screamed his name.
"Tell me what?" Noah asked. Malika and Farah startled and looked at the suddenly opened door.
"You heard us?!" Farah said with both of her eyebrows raised from his sudden appearance.
"You basically screamed my name," Noah said and smirked.
"Well, I forgot to get you a present, so I was asking Farah not to tell you," Malika said casually.
Farah looked at her bewildered with her mouth open then said, "Right." Malika looked back and winked at her.
"You didn't have to get me anything, just come in," Noah said and moved to get the door completely open.
It was an enormous neat apartment with breathtaking one hundred eighty-degree harbors view. The walls were painted in white and the whole floor was covered with light gray smooth carpet. Several paintings hanging on the walls giving the place an artistry look. The apartment was in modern black and dark gray furniture with yellow-colored art pieces in every corner. On the left side was an L shaped kitchen layout with an island works.p.a.ce filled with delicious food.
"You must be Farah," a six feet tall man appeared from behind the countertop. He went to Farah and gave her a sudden hug. He had long blonde hair in a loose man bun and a full beard. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and a black ap.r.o.n.
"Oh… Hi," Farah said and tapped on the man muscled back.
"Hi, I'm Ethan," he said then released her from his sudden hug. Farah smiled at him then looked at Malika and Noah who seemed to be whispering over something and still standing at the door.
6:55 pm.
After they finished eating what Ethan cooked for them. Noah asked them what they want to drink. All of them wanted black tea but Farah was tired; she couldn't resist a big cup of coffee. She left them and went to the bathroom to wash up.
The bathroom was on the left side of the apartment. Farah walked a long hall to reach it at the end. She washed up her face and hands; she felt a sudden need to sleep. She put her hair in a high ponytail and went outside. She noticed that one of the doors of the other rooms was open. She wasn't a curious person, yet something caught her attention.
It was a huge painting of a beautiful woman in her early thirty; drawn in a detailed portrait that looked like a photograph from far. Farah didn't think for a second and went inside the room.

It was Noah's office room; neat and enormous just like the rest of the apartment. The room had the same view of the harbor. On the right side was L shaped gla.s.s desk with a black colored stationary and a silver-colored desktop computer. On the left side another L shaped gla.s.s desk with several work papers and books on it.
On the right wall were two large-sized paintings, and on the left wall was the portrait of the woman and different pictures hanging next to it. Farah took a closer look at the painting and saw the painter sign. "Donggun…wow," Farah whispered to herself.
She moved two steps to see the rest of the pictures. It was a group of different pictures of Noah with his friends on different occasions. One picture caught her attention. It was Noah standing between his parents in graduation robe; the same woman in the portrait but little older, she looked pretty and elegant. Noah looked younger with shorter hair and a clean shaved face. Farah smiled, she found it heartwarming when any family took pictures together.
She looked at Noah's father, her smile faded slowly. She took a deep breath and her eyes got wide open in shock. She took one step back; she didn't understand what was happening to her. A vague sense of familiarity washed over her the moment her eyes came across Donggun's face.
She lost all sense of reality with an image pops up in front of her eyes; Farah looked around to find herself in a different room, it was a dark one with few candles lighting the place, she couldn't see anything clearly. For some reason, everything around her was moving in slow motion. She saw shadows of two people in the room fighting each other.
She tried to move her body but couldn't, something was holding her tight. Numbers of bright blue strings were covering her body squeezing it hard. The strings were increasing and moving upwards, it reached her neck choking her.
She wanted to scream hard but couldn't. She looked again at the two shadows terrified, one of them came close to her. It was Donggun, he looked younger with a messy medium length hair that was covering the sides of his face and he was wearing white linen Shendyt and tunic covered with blood running out of his nose.
She looked at his anguished face and terrified eyes. He was screaming in a language she didn't know but she understood every single word he said. Donggun hugged Farah then the ground started to vibrate hard.
"Farah!" Noah said loudly, nudging her left shoulder with his right hand.
"Yes!" Farah looked at him and took one step backward losing her balance for a second.
"Are you okay?" Noah asked and gave her a worried glance.
"Yeah… I'm okay, I was just…" — Farah looked at him with a half-smile then again at the graduation picture— "thinking."
