They were startled when they saw the conditions of the people who did the night shift.
"Did something happen?" Someone asked a stupid question.
The guards who did the night shift were in miserable conditions. Many of them had injuries and they looked exhausted.
"Be careful. There are a lot more monsters now." They warned.
The incoming shift took the warning seriously. Anything regarding monsters was no joking matter.
There was a crew waiting for the people who just got off their shift. These people were just ordinary people that wanted to help out.
They handed out cold towels and water to the [Users].
"Thank you," A [User] sincerely said. This kind of treatment was one of the factors that allowed him to keep going for so long.
It was just a little thing but it showed the kindness between humans. Such raw feelings were hard to describe.
From a distance, a party of four walked over.
"Mr. Winter!" The people greeted including [Users].
Contrary to what one might expect from a highly influential figure like Winter, he was very easy to approach.
Winter nodded back with a smile in return. He walked over to the wall with his party and jumped over the wall. To repeat, Winter jumped over the wall that was the height of a skysc.r.a.per.
His body shot up like a rocket and he arrived on top in no time. Rosane gave a sigh before applying her power to Brame and Rocklet.
And just like Winter, they quickly arrived at the top of the wall.
They could see everything within their surroundings when they were this high. From above, they could see the gra.s.sy fields that surrounded the city. There were a few corpses below that were not collected yet. All of them were minotaurs.
Winter focused his eyes and looked into the distance. From a good distance away, He could see rocky terrain. There were numerous huge rocks that pierced out from the ground. These rocks looked like swords.
This terrain covered a large area. An oppressive aura covered the area that even Winter could feel from such a long distance. When he focused further into the area, the aura pressed down on him.
He felt like the weight of the world was on him.
Cough!
He coughed up a mouthful of blood and covered his eyes that were tingling like a bunch of needles stabbed into it.
"Young Master!"
"Winter!"
His close subordinates held his body with a startled look.
"I think… I've found where they're coming from."
Meanwhile, Spring-Autumn was also on the wall.
"Why are there rocks around that dungeon portal now? Probably that work of that cursed sword…"
He was sitting on the edge of the wall, his legs dangling down. A few food flowers were in his hand. Now that he was stronger, his body needed a lot more food so he decided to use his valuable food flowers as snacks.
Around his hand, bright blue mist swirled around it. He was playing around with the mana in the air, trying to find uses for it.
Unknowingly, he had attracted so much mana that his entire body was covered in it.
Cough!
He heard someone cough behind him. Spring-Autumn turned around and took a good look at his guests.
A bald man, an old man, a red-haired beauty, and his brother. It was a weird combination.
"They didn't notice me?" Spring-Autumn realized it was because of the mana around his body.
[Skill Acquired: Stealth]
Spring-Autumn hopped back to his feet and his stealth vanished.
"You shouldn't look at the sword," He said.
Winter's entourage became startled at his voice and immediately looked at him. It was quite a comedic reaction that Spring-Autumn enjoyed.
"Second Young Master," Brame said in a surprised tone. Different from how he addressed Winter with respect, he addressed Spring-Autumn out of courtesy. The difference in treatment could be seen.
Brame was Winter's martial arts instructor ever since he was of a young age. Naturally, he would know Spring-Autumn too.
"Second Young Master?" Rosane was puzzled but noticed the similarities in the facial features of Winter and Spring-Autumn.
"You shouldn't be up here," Winter said, after regaining his composure.
"Just going to ignore my warning? Haha," Spring-Autumn laughed and walked away. He always felt irritated whenever he was around the man.
The Attribute Cloak transformed into something similar to a glider and Spring-Autumn jumped off the wall, floating away.
Spring-Autumn felt the cold wind brushing against his face. He was still contemplating the reason why he came back.
His heart told him to stay and observe, but his mind was dying to leave. He thought that he was a little bit of an idiot for coming back.
He wanted to go out and explore further. Unravel the mysteries of this new world. Maybe go into the dungeon? He was excited at the thought of it. Before that, however, he needed to get stronger. There were many minotaurs that were waiting to be eaten.
Back at the wall.
"I didn't know that you had a brother," Rosane laughed.
"Second Young Master has always been a rebellious one," Brame said, stroking his long beard.
Rocklet rubbed his bald head and said, "None of us noticed him?"
Winter didn't say anything. After a long moment, he finally said: "Gather our best people. We're going over there!"
Winter had a strong feeling that he would meet an opportunity at the rocky land. If it could produce minotaurs, perhaps there might be something for him!
