Xiao Yan had to admit. Heine has such gorgeous look that could sweep people off their feets if he wanted to.

"Boss's the type to admire from afar, while the kind like Jean Wallis is the dream man for the ladies! Get him to be your tutor if you had the chance to meet him! Hahahaha!"

Without notice, Xiao Yan got himself befuddled by the hyped drinking. Special Forces soldiers can hardly get intoxicated thanks to their strong metabolism rate granted by the X-virus, but Xiao Yan was not as lucky. As drunk as a skunk, he lurched from wall to wall, having difficulties in finding his way to the bathroom.

"Hey! To the left! Left! Oh G.o.d, brother, do you still recognise your directions!" Maya was leaning against the table in a lazy manner, with no intention to help him up.

Finally, Xiao Yan stumbled into the toilet, still muddled, and b.u.mped his head on the sliding door. As he was about to come in close contact with the ground, someone hooked him up and dragged him into one of the compartments.

"Urgh——" Xiao Yan spewed up.

The person's fingers locked onto the back of Xiao Yan's neck, preventing his head from plunging into the commode.

"Hah——" Xiao Yan felt better after hurling out.

Finally pulling back his spinning vision, he turned around slowly, his hands supporting on the compartment wall to prevent himself from stumbling.

And the man standing before him, stoic and elegant, was Heine Burton.

"……Colonel……"

In the next second, a hand reached out towards him and placed right beside his ear, cornering him to the wall.

Xiao Yan froze.

Hmm? What? Did I stain Heine when I was vomiting? Am I going to get beaten up?

While he was pondering, he felt a palm cupped his face. Face tilted sideways, eyes lowered, Heine caressed his face gently.

Everything seemed unreal until a lips pressed onto his and a tongue slid into his mouth.

Xiao Yan felt his world overturned.

It was a gentle kiss. His tongue traced across Xiao Yan's palate, followed by a tender suck on his lips, as the kiss deepens.

Xiao Yan felt his body slide down the wall while Heine's forced a knee between his legs, trailing across his thighs and rubbed against the area where he had a reaction.

"You should get some rest."

A chilling voice split the world into two. Xiao Yan snapped back to his senses immediately, only to see Heine standing before him, hands down by his side.

That kiss…… was just a delusion.

Xiao Yan blinked several times ad cursed silently, "Goodness! It's not the first time! This is no difference from a death wish! Why am I having these…… delusions of Heine Burton?"

"Is this a side effect after taking in his saliva?" he continued to ponder. He knew Heine's saliva consists of X-virus, but it should be metabolised by now after he was fed with his saliva on the leaf! Besides, if it was the X-virus that caused him delusions, why is Heine Burton the one that appeared in his fantasies and not Lily!

Meanwhile, there was a flash on Heine's communication device on his wrist. He tapped it with his finger and a hologram popped up, showing the face of the liaison officer.

"Colonel Burton, the information in Manson's brain has been decrypted."

Hearing the name Manson, Xiao Yan befuddled mind cleared up slightly.

It has been troubling him since then, on the reason Manson has betrayed the Charles, which he has been thinking even in his sleep. What made him turn against his people, and what did the Tides use that tempted him into joining them?

As long as the answer remained unknown, Xiao Yan will continue to ponder endlessly, and he even began to imagine, whether he would fall for the same temptation one day.

The man before him turned around and turned off the hologram.

"The interrogation unit has retrieved the answer from Manson's brain," his voice was calm and blatant, as though it was normal to reveal a cla.s.sified information.

"Ah, what is it?" Xiao Yan knew he was not in the position to ask, and yet he did.

"The Tides used 'immortality' as their bait to lure Major General Manson into joining them, and to serve as a bait himself to get the elites of Special Task Forces into the bas.e.m.e.nt. That was his test to join the Tides. If we're all dead, he pa.s.ses."

There isn't the slightest waver of emotions in Heine's voice, sounding like a record player.

"Immortality?" Xiao Yan blinked in perplexity, "That's impossible, there's no such thing as immortality… in this world."

Heine turned his face slightly, the moment the light trailed across his features caught Xiao Yan's eyes.

"Is 'immortality' impossible, or unacceptable?"

Just as the question about Manson ended, Heine dropped him another.

"Everything about Manson is strictly confidential."

With that said, Heine turned around and left.

Xiao Yan was extremely obfuscated. If it was confidential, why did he tell him?

"Your brain should be used for something more meaningful."

His voice was low and steady, as though he was stating the fact.

But Xiao Yan became puzzled. Why would Heine concern about what he is thinking?

When he was finally back to his room, Xiao Yan flopped down onto the bed.

Thinking that he could sleep throughout the day tomorrow, he took out his terminal and logged onto the Central Science chatroom and found his old friend, Casey. He figured his buddy would be worried sick after not hearing from him for so long.

"It seems that you're still alive, you b.a.s.t.a.r.d!"

The moment Xiao Yan logged in, he could taste the verge of anger from Casey.

"Sorry about that, I'm alive," Xiao Yan pursed his lips and scratched his chin. His antics are all portrayed within the mind of the person at the other end of the conversation.

"Hmph! I've heard that you've joined the mission to rescue Professor Manson, but then I was told that he died! Even Heine Burton couldn't save him…… what exactly did you encounter!"

"Zombies," Xiao Yan gave a light-hearted laugh, he could not tell Casey the truth.

"It can't be just zombies. If it was only zombies, there's no way Heine Burton only brought Professor Manson's head back! Ah……Ah…. How I wish I can get into the interrogation unit and find out what Professor Manson's thinking!"

Xiao Yan breathed out a sigh, "Alright, we met the a.s.sa.s.sins from the Tides as well."

"Goodness! You actually had a face-to-face encounter with their a.s.sa.s.sins! Are you alright?" Casey looked awfully worried, as Xiao Yan smiled triumphantly.

"Of course I'm fine, I even shot one of them in the head with a gun."

Casey gave an exasperated sigh, "Xiao Yan, can you not live without blowing your own trumpet?"

"Alright, even I myself won't believe it if I haven't seen it with my own eyes…" Xiao Yan thought to himself but quickly shrugged it off. He has something more important to ask Casey.

"Hey… since you're a professional in the X-virus research, I've something to ask you. If I were to take in the X-virus of a particular Special Force soldier, will I… erm… have… delusions of that person?" Xiao Yan managed to force out the words from his mouth.

He would never ask such questions in front of other X-virus researchers unless that person is a close friend of his. He has been having delusions about Heine Burton that he shouldn't have, and not once, but trice! The first time was when he fell asleep while listening to the music, the second was during their hideout in the windproof tunnel, and the most recent one was inside the bathroom.

These delusions are unusual, dangerous even.

"Huh?" Casey gave a look of surprise, which then turns solemn in seconds, "What do you mean by taking in? In what way? Kissing or making love? What is this? Did you hook up with a female Special Force soldier? Xiao Yan, I have to warn you, you better withdraw yourself from it if you wish to hold on to your dear life! X-virus can get a person addicted, and the body of an ordinary human can never withstand the power of a Special Force soldier that went berserk!"

Xiao Yan was relieved that Casey had mistaken the person for a female Special Force soldier and not Heine, at least a female soldier is still a woman…

"…Ya, h-she's very… attractive…… Don't worry, we haven't gone that far," Xiao Yan are not used to lying in front of Casey because he tends to see through his lies easily as they are each other really well.

"A step further is prohibited!" Casey said in a stern voice.

"I know! I know! I just want to know if kissing her, or…… you know…… taking in her saliva would cause me to have delusions about her? If yes, how do I stop it?"

"……Was she in front of you?" Casey let off a sigh while holding his head in his arms.

"Sometimes she was….. sometimes she wasn't……"

"Alright, listen. If she was in front of you and you had those sort of delusions, that means she has desires for you. The X-virus has escalated her hormones secretion and was transmitted into your body through the air, causing you to… well… into having those delusions."

"……What if she's not in front of me?" Xiao Yan recalled the time when he dreamt of Heine in his sleep and the devastating state he was in when he saw his dampen pants… Was it just a dream or it was some sort of influence by others?

"Then it's either you wish to sleep with her or she infiltrated your brain," Casey shrugged, "Xiao Yan, you have to withdraw yourself from this as soon as possible. I do not wish to autopsy you myself one day."

Xiao Yan laughed, "That day will never come!"

He never had the thought to have s.e.x with Heine, his dream partner is always a beauty like Lily. Moreover, Heine hasn't got the slightest reason to infiltrate his brain, though Xiao Yan is certain he's a professional in it.

Suddenly, the smile on his face vanished.

He noticed a person sitting at the other end of his bed, not knowing when.

"Xiao Yan! You dumba.s.s! Why did you go all quiet suddenly?"

The connection with Casey was disconnected.

The man had his left knee pressed on the bed, leaning towards Xiao Yan. His uplifted chin and slightly lowered eyes shaded him with a contrast of abstinence and enticement.

Xiao Yan leaned back instinctively.

"Colonel… Burton…"

Why is he in my room? Why didn't I notice when he came in?

Heine leaned closer to him, slowly. His mesmerising blue eyes staring deep into Xiao Yan's as his face came closer.

It was the most memorable thing Xiao Yan has ever seen.

"Colonel, wha-"

Before he could finish, Heine tilted his face slightly and took his lips into his.

Xiao Yan could feel the gentleness in his touch, slow and tender, but at the same time, firm and relentless. The kiss deepens as he felt the pressure from Heine increased, as though his soul were to be consumed by the man before him.

Their tongues tangled, while Heine invades Xiao Yan's mouth in all angles and continued deeper, as though he wishes to plunder everything there is of Xiao Yan.

Xiao Yan was stricken with a pang of fear. He tried to struggle free from Heine, only to notice not an inch of his body can be moved.

Heine pressed him onto the pillow, his fingers tearing his clothes apart, before caressing every inch of his skin possessively, as if he wishes to manipulate the flow of his blood in the palm his hand even.

Without warning, his leg was lifted into the air as Heine dive into him. Xiao Yan opened his mouth with a silent scream, staring at the man before him in fear and disbelief.

The continuous thrusts and overwhelming emotions that went berserk, Xiao Yan lost all his senses except the Heine’s burning touch and his very existence.

"Why……" Xiao Yan forced a word out from his hoa.r.s.e throat.
