Chapter 36.2 - Matching male-female pair
It was only about 15 minutes, but Feng Yege had already taken out the silver needles and Lou Qingwu had begun to silently dress consort Ying.
When she lifted her head up again, Feng Yege had just started to remove the white bandage from his eyes too.
His pair of adamantium like eyes were startlingly deep, even Lou Qingwu froze for a moment.
In that moment, she had felt that his eyes were truly familiar.
She narrowed her eyes as she looked at him again.
Feng Yege didn’t get angry either, letting her watch her fill.
That is, until they heard a moan by their side and Lou Qingwu returned to her senses.
She pulled away her eyes and looked at the bed, at the consort Ying who had returned to the living from the dead.
She raised a brow and swept her eyes at the silver needles in Feng Yege’s hands.
She couldn’t help but admit that the rumoured Night Prince’s “plum blossom needles” truly lived up to the hype.
In this aspect, he was quite similar to that person.
Thinking about that person who possessed purple eyes, Lou Qingwu’s constant expressionless face showed a crack.
But this mood was quickly broken by the emperor behind them.
The emperor was about to go crazy with happiness when he saw consort Ying had woken up as he pounced on her, hugging the weak and fragile consort, completely forgetting his own composure and self.
Lou Qingwu used a finger to ma.s.sage her forehead, hiding a flash of coldness in her eyes.
It seemed like this consort Ying was quite important to the emperor.
She was only afraid that the person behind this all had seen this point too and so, was using consort Ying to get rid of the empress.
This really was two birds with one stone as the puppet master would become the fisherman who lets the two fight amongst themselves.
The sleeping chambers had been closed after only a few people had entered.
The people outside of the chambers had heard consort Ying had woken up and all wiped away some sweat.
At the same time, their admiration for the Night Prince also went up a level.
It was only apart from the other concubines and princes who had strange expressions on, that the others looked extremely happy.
Xiahou Rui’s cold and handsome face didn’t seem like he had any expressions on his face, but he had clearly let out a sigh of relief.
Consort Ying had lived so his emperor-father’s anger must’ve dissipated by half, this would be beneficial to clearing his empress-mother’s name.
He went over and with Xiahou Liuyun, supported the empress up.
He comforted, “Empress-mother, everything will be alright.”
The empress’ face was pale white as she shook her head, she already couldn’t speak.
Only her eyes were filled with deadness as they looked around, finally falling upon her two children.
Then she looked at the Lou Qingwu inside the chamber, soundlessly showing a bitter smile.
In the end, she could only rely on her two children.
And those people who called themselves her sisters, the princes who called her empress-mother didn’t even have the courage of that small girl.
She was the only one who had the courage to speak out, if only for just a phrase.
She warmed herself for a bit before lightly speaking, “Rui’er, Liuyun, empress-mother owes that Lou family’s eldest daughter.”
“Subject-son knows, I’ll definitely spare no effort in protecting her whole.”
Xiahou Rui followed the empress’ eyes to towards the sleeping chambers, his dark eyes becoming even darker.
But unknowingly, they also flashed a small bit of warmth.
She was clearly so weak and gentle, but how did she have the courage to speak up, again and again?
This side of Lou Qingwu was fascinating to him as he felt a cold part of his heart, slowly, very slowly, warm up.
“Empress-mother, subject-son will definitely treat her well in the future.” He was silent for a moment before adding.
It wasn’t clear whether he was saying that to the empress, or if it was to himself.
Consort Ying hadn’t completely woken up but her life was saved.
Before, she had a difficult birth and bled to a state of near-death where she fainted.
After a few needles from Feng Yege, he had dragged her from death’s door and back.
The emperor had been happy for a while before he remembered the dead little prince so he ordered some of the palace maids and senior aides to look after consort Ying, with Feng Yege and Lou Qingwu.
Then he went back outside of the sleeping chambers.
He ordered everyone to gather together outside of the main hall of Liuhua palace, sat on the master seat as he looked down on the crowd in the hall.
And in the dead center of the palace was not only the pot of ‘no sons gra.s.s’ that Lou Qingwu had taken out, but ten or so others that had been found in various places in Liuhua palace.
They had all been placed together, causing chills down people’s backs along with the emperor’s eyes that were sinister and frightening.
