Chapter 6.2 – Flirting

After his subordinate left, Li Jingsheng sat by himself for a bit. It wasn't clear what he was thinking about but his eyes were terrifying. He stood up and walked towards his own temporary lodging and pushed open the door. After he waved for the rest of his subordinates to leave, he stood underneath a tree, narrowed his eyes and listened in on the sounds from the nearby rooms.

Cold and clear qin music played, similar to Lou Qingwu's speaking voice. It was like clear water seeping into his heart.

He unknowingly walked closer, wanting to see what she looked like as she played the qin. His eyes darkened because it couldn't be denied that she had a face that could easily seduce people. He jumped up and onto the wall and when he saw the nearby rooms, his whole face became cold.

He saw Lou Qingwu plucking the qin at the centre of the rooms and not far from her, Li Ziqing propping his chin with his hands, staring at her in a lovestruck manner.

His neck stuck out as far as it could, as if he wanted to stick his whole face onto her body.

The music suddenly stopped and Lou Qingwu confusedly looked at Li Ziqing.

Then Li Ziqing finally responded because somehow, he had unknowingly really stuck himself on Lou Qingwu's shoulder.

He stopped blankly for a moment and then disregarding all consequences, pulled her into his embrace. He pulled her closer and puckered his lips but Lou Qingwu dodged. She held her qin, "Third gentleman, please respect yourself."

"Miss Lou, it's just a kiss? This gentleman likes you, and from what they've said, you're Lou family's big miss. No wonder this gentleman thought you looked so familiar. After what happened that year, no one else will want to marry you so why don't you just marry me? After we get to the capital city, this gentleman will go and propose!" As he spoke, he tried to jump onto Lou Qingwu again.

But this time, his collar was yanked by someone behind him and his whole body was lifted up.

He was about to turn around and yell at the person but when he saw who it was, his whole face paled, "Second, second brother."

Li Jingsheng's face darkened as he stared at him and embarra.s.sed, Li Ziqing rubbed his nose. Flirting and getting caught by his second brother made him feel a bit strange, especially because this girl was almost his second brother's fiancee.

Li Jingsheng looked at the weak girl whose eyes were lowered in front of him. Her weak and gentle posture made his protective instincts rise. He turned around and looked at his wastrel little brother, "Go back first."

"Second brother!" Li Ziqing fiercely lifted up his head. He was reluctant to leave because she was nearly his.

But underneath Li Jingsheng's eyes, Li Ziqing swallowed nervously, "Okay, okay. I'll go back okay? Then, I'll leave first, second brother." After he finished speaking, he reluctantly looked at Lou Qingwu again and finally, reluctantly left.

After Li Ziqing left, the room was awkwardly quietly. Li Jingsheng coughed lowly, his armour still hadn't been taken off. Just as he was about to say something, Lou Qingwu quickly raised her head to look at him, her eyes rimmed red, "Second gentleman, I don't think I should stay here."

Being looked at like this, Li Jingsheng felt something paw at his heart. Even though this girl was horrible then, it's been a while and now that he thinks about it, it wasn't actually such a big deal.

"This time, it was second brother who was brash. Afterwards, this general will definitely watch over him. It's not safe for a maiden going by herself back to the capital. You should wait two more days, and then we'll go back together. Also, you're Lou Lianxin's first sister so this general has a duty of care towards you. Okay, we'll just do it like that. Rest well. This general will be next door so if you need anything, just ask your maidservants to call this general."

Li Jingsheng's voice warranted no disagreement in deciding her business. He turned around to leave until he saw an item on the stone table. He suddenly stopped, "What is this?"
