Chapter 717: The Listening Pavilion
This place was a city at the center of the entire Holy Sun Continent. After resting here, the group of people went directly towards the southwest direction to try their luck.
Many people became increasingly excited as they talked amongst themselves. The reward offered was tens of millions of spirit stones; this was an extremely astronomical amount.
What they were most interested in was not the reward of the tens of millions of spirit stones because that involved killing Xiang Tianfang, the leader of the Divine Blood Church. Even though it was rumored that he had been seriously injured, they were still no match for an existence like him.
Along with being rewarded tens of millions of spirit stones for killing Xiang Tianfang, anyone who provided information on Xiang Tianfang’s whereabouts would also be rewarded 100,000 mid-tier spirit stones.
Although the reward for providing information was only one-tenth of the reward for killing, it was much easier to accomplish.
In a corner of the restaurant, Lu Xuan sat by the window, watching the people below moving about. Meanwhile, he listened to the cultivators’ discussions on current affairs.
Along the way, Lu Xuan had left the place that was considered the home of the Divine Blood Church and arrived at the center of the Holy Sun Continent.
Only now was he able to see the situation in the Holy Sun Continent. The entire Holy Sun Continent was much better than Earth and the Blessed Enclave.
Although the cultivation lineage was not perfect, it was still much better than that of Earth and the Blessed Enclave.
Based on what he had seen and heard during this time, Lu Xuan learned that the entire Holy Sun Continent was dominated by both the Immemorial Path and the Divine Blood Church.
They could be regarded as the leaders of good and evil respectively. These two major forces battled each other a month ago, which ended in the Immemorial Path emerging victorious.
The power of the Divine Blood Church was suppressed back to the southwest region. Even the leader of the Divine Blood Church was seriously injured. In the end, he had fled in a hurry and never returned to the southwest region.
This was exactly why the Immemorial Path had offered a reward of tens of millions of spirit stones to anyone who could kill the leader of the Divine Blood Church.
Even Lu Xuan was moved by such a high reward.
The last time he had ever been that wealthy was when he took advantage of the chaos and ransacked the storage room in the Divine Blood Fortress.
However, Lu Xuan still restrained himself. As things currently were, this was something that he couldn’t complete.
He had to at least wait a year until he had completed the quenching of his physical body. Only then would he have the ability to complete the task.
However, it was unknown how things would have developed by the time he was ready.
Lu Xuan checked out and left the restaurant. Soon, he arrived at a magnificent pavilion in the city.
“It’s the Listening Pavilion!”
Lu Xuan had already gotten information about this place. The Listening Pavilion was the first organization in the entire Holy Sun Continent to sell intelligence. It was said that the Listening Pavilion had a very long history, existing ever since the Holy Sun Continent was first established.
Of course, Lu Xuan refused to believe such nonsense. Even so, it was plain to see that the Listening Pavilion was quite powerful.
It was said that the Listening Pavilion had a branch in every city. Although they were not very high-profiled, anyone who wanted to get information from them could do so via trading.
When Lu Xuan entered the place, he found that the interior decoration was extremely luxurious.
After entering, a well-mannered servant came forward. The servant smiled and asked Lu Xuan, “Welcome to the Listening Pavilion, young master. Are you here to buy or sell information?”
Lu Xuan replied, “I want to buy some information!”
The servant said with great confidence, “What kind of information is young master after? As long as it exists in this world, there is nothing we don’t know!”
Lu Xuan said, “I want to know about the situation of the Liu family in Tianyu City, located in the Central Province.”
With the very little information given to him by his mother, Lu Xuan was basically looking for a needle in a haystack.
Lu Xuan was also helpless on his own. If he wanted information about the Liu family, he had to seek out the Listening Pavilion.
Upon hearing Lu Xuan’s response, the smile on the servant’s face suddenly faded away. Even the servant’s voice became a little sharp as he said, “The Liu family?”
Lu Xuan frowned. He seemed to have realized something from the servant’s expression. He quietly asked, “Wait, do you guys have no information on the Liu family?”
The servant immediately returned to his senses and quickly said, “We do, but any information of the Liu family is rather expensive; you’d need 10,000 mid-tier spirit stones to get that information!”
Lu Xuan nodded and said, “No problem!”
He had realized that something was wrong. There always seemed to have been something unusual about the Liu family. Just inquiring about their information would’ve cost him 10,000 spirit stones.
After handing over the required amount of spirit stones, he was soon taken to a VIP room by the servant to wait.
A moment later, the servant brought over a piece of jade bamboo slip and handed it to Lu Xuan. Everything about the Liu family had been recorded onto this piece of jade slip.
Meanwhile, a square-faced middle-aged man had also arrived wearing gorgeous clothes. After he walked in, he said, “Sir, this is all the information regarding the Liu family. May I please know your surname?”
“Lu!”
Lu Xuan grabbed the jade slip and began to look through the information written on it. However, when he finished reading the information, the expression on his face suddenly changed. Once he finished reading it, however, the expression on his face suddenly changed to a look of anger.
“How dare they!”
Lu Xuan gritted his teeth. He was so angry that he could hardly control his anger.
Lu Xuan looked at the middle-aged supervisor and asked, “Is everything written on here true?”
The middle-aged supervisor nodded and said, “Yes, we can a.s.sure you that everything written on there is true. Our Listening Pavilion sells information for a living. Naturally, we would never lie about this!”
The middle-aged supervisor looked at Lu Xuan. Suddenly, blue veins popped out on his forehead, as if he had seen a ghost.
He thought to himself, ‘This young man seemed to have some sort of relationship with the Liu family. That must be why he became so angry after reading the news.’
He simply found Lu Xuan to be an enigma; it seemed as if he did not have any experience in cultivation at all. Once Lu Xuan became angry, however, the middle-aged man suddenly felt all the hairs on his body standing on end.
The servant just said that a young man, who seemed to have no experience in cultivation, had arrived asking for information on the Liu family. That was why the middle-aged man came in out of curiosity.
Now, however, he wanted nothing more than to kill that servant; the young man did not look like he had no experience in cultivation at all. The middle-aged man had been so scared that all of his hairs stood on end; the young man must’ve been a scary expert.
Lu Xuan clenched his fists. Even with his state of mind, he could not help but be furious. When he thought of Just thinking about the information recorded about the Liu family enraged him even further.
According to what was recorded, the Liu family had been completely wiped out; not a single member of the family remained!
