Chapter 258: Killing Lilith
Other feeling a heartache over such a loss, Lilith also felt a terror that she was unable to place and helplessness that she never felt before. It was creeping into her mind.
She never thought that there would be a day where she got so close to death.
Worse still, she never thought she would have such feelings while inside her ancestral land, which was supposed to be the safest place for her. She never thought any of that would happen.
Lu Xuan’s powers were simply too terrifying, so much so that he seemed to be nigh-unbeatable among all in the Celestial Realm, that there was none in the world who could beat him.
She came to think that even Cain, the ancestor of all bloodkin, would have had a tough time fighting him.
She finally realized at that moment why Lu Xuan lamented the absence of Cain in the first place. He was truly there to annihilate the entire empire of vampires, without the slightest intention of sparing any of them.
If she were to be given a chance to start over, she would have never stepped foot in Huaxia in the first place, even if that meant killing her.
Boom!
The wings behind Lilith’s back extended right away, and she launched herself into the air in an instant, intending to leave the ancestral land.
That was her only chance of surviving the ordeal.
“So you wanna run, eh? Don’t you think it’s too late for that?”
Lu Xuan stomped, which surprisingly crushed the air beneath his feet. He appeared right before Lilith at the very next second, as if he had just teleported, cutting her escape right away.
He was not about to let her escape.
Rooarrr!
She has had enough at that moment, transforming right away into a terrifying vampire and launched herself at Lu Xuan.
Boom!
Huge bloodied claws manifested from her hands, which seemed to almost tear the heavens apart. However, the claws were utterly useless when they landed on him, as they were shattered right away by his Shield of Vigor when they got within three feet away from him.
Lu Xuan made his move right after that, bringing about the flash of the sword at her. He brought the Dragonslayer to bear at her in an instant.
Pfftt!
The sword blitzed like a streak of bloodied glow as it swept at everything in its path, lodging itself into her chest, making blood spill everywhere.
She backed off right away, with utter shock seen in her eyes.
That attack from Lu Xuan was simply too quick to catch. It moved almost like a bolt of lightning. The blade was already in her chest by the time she saw the flash of the blade coming.
If it had not been for the fact that she was a vampire, thereby having tremendous lifeforce, that attack would have killed her on the spot.
Her powers were simply too weak compared to his.
She then opened her bloodied mouth wide. There was not even a trace of that alluring woman before by then, as a terrifying monster took her place instead.
She shrieked at the very next moment, making her sound like a banshee or some female monstrosity of such kinds. Terrifying soundwaves blasted at Lu Xuan.
She was attempting to stall him using sonic attacks.
However, she was indeed too naïve. The sonic attacks never got to Lu Xuan, to begin with, as they were utterly unable to even break through his Shield of Vigor.
Lu Xuan looked on with a deadpan expression at the female vampire before him. He then launched a thrust at her almost in an instant, penetrating her chest right away.
Pfftt!
Blood spilled from her mouth yet again as her lifeforce diminished at a frightening rate. Despite being a vampire at Celestial Realm, she was unable to withstand two lethal attacks like that consecutively.
“Arrgghh! Lu Xuan, you will pay for this! I’ll be taking you with me!” She howled at that moment as terrifying energies raged in her body; she was about to self-destruct.
“You’re way out of your league.”
Lu Xuan snorted coldly and extended his arm. Boundless Spiritual Qi burst from every single pore on his arm, materializing into a golden dragon claw and grabbed hold of her, crushing all that energy emanating from her body bit by bit.
Boom!
A deafening rumble was heard, and she exploded with ma.s.sive force, yet she was unable to do any harm to Lu Xuan at all. All that force simply wrecked some of the dragon claw.
Such a move might actually end up killing a common Celestial Realm being, yet she was in way over her head if she wanted to take Lu Xuan with such a move.
At that moment, Lu Xuan discovered all of a sudden that the barrier above the ancestral land of the vampires closed up right away. To put precisely, the power all over the place became at least ten times as dense.
He then realized all of a sudden what she meant. She did not intend to take Lu Xuan out with her by self-destructing. She was thinking of trapping Lu Xuan in the vampires’ ancestral land, making it utterly impossible to leave for good.
She knew that she stood no chance in taking out Lu Xuan, and she most probably had no hope of escaping him alive. As such, she pulled what she pulled instead.
Lu Xuan was stunned, finding that Lilith actually managed to really set him up.
But then again, he did not give in to despair. The barrier of the vampires was indeed terrifying, so much so that he would probably have no way of breaking the barrier with his current level of cultivation.
Yet, that was not to say that he was unable to do anything about it. He could simply choose to make further breakthroughs, reaching a level higher than the Celestial Realm—the Airborne Realm.
It was a level that was completely above that of the Celestial Realm. The greatest trait to the Airborne Realm being gaining the ability to fly.
It was the ability of true flight. While Lu Xuan was technically capable of flying as he was at the moment, yet he was only manipulating the wind in order to achieve the effect of flight. As such, he was not actually flying, and his speed was abhorrent as well. It was but making a burst in the air for a short period of time, which meant that he was not truly flying.
At the current stage, other than the likes of Lu Xuan, who were capable of barely mimic flight through wind manipulation by relying on precise control of Spiritual Qi, the only ones who were capable of flight were monsters able to fly, or creatures like the vampires, who had wings on their backs.
However, things were totally different at Airborne Realm, as even creatures without wings would achieve true flight, once reaching that particular realm. Any creature that was initially incapable of flight would manifest true mystical means enabling them to fly.
Flight ability was the greatest trait of the Airborne Realm, which was why it was named such, to begin with.
Lu Xuan’s powers would at least grow several times over upon reaching the Airborne Realm, and his combat prowess would reach immeasurable levels.
If he were to be of Airborne Realm level of powers, to begin with, Lilith would not have been able to escape in the first place, as he could have killed her with a single stroke of the sword.
However, the laws of the planet were such that not even the Celestial Realm was allowed to completely develop yet, let alone making a breakthrough into the Airborne Realm. As such, Lu Xuan could only give it his best shot at it.
But then again, it was all only a matter of time. Lilith’s attempt to trap him inside the vampires’ ancestral land for good was utterly futile.
There was yet another trump card at his disposal—the peaches from the Peach Tree of Immortality.
While the tree was being nurtured at the medicinal field behind the Yunxuan Villa at the moment, he nonetheless had a peach on his person, which served well as a means to help him make such a breakthrough.
