Chapter 213: Breaking the Shackle and Making a Breakthrough
The barrier had been protecting the Peach Tree of Immortality for countless years. All that stocked fine wooden qi was unleashed at that very moment.
Lu Xuan activated his Taixu Origin Power and began to absorb all that qi in a frenzy.
He called Lu Shanshan and the others to come over and absorb all that qi as well.
All that qi that was stocked for an untold number of years was finally exhausted about half an hour later, dissipating into the air, and the gang gathered around had only been able to absorb a fraction of it all.
“It’s a pity. We don’t really get to suck more than a fraction.”
Lu Shanshan quipped in a rather dejected manner. The wooden qi was so pure and fine that even someone at her level felt her powers deepened after absorbing all that qi.
She had not been an Invincible Vajra for long, and her level was far from being completely stabilized. However, she found her powers being completely solidified after taking in just that bit.
The changes within her in that short period of time were staggering.
In terms of fighting prowess, she came close to matching Adam and Saint Peter.
She never imagined being able to see such a shocking change in herself.
Despite having an inborn taoism apt.i.tude, she actually had little idea just how formidable such apt.i.tude would have been, and the amount of wooden qi that she was able to absorb was second only to her brother.
The amount taken in by Lin Miaoyi, Ming Yueyao, and the others were noticeably less when compared to the siblings.
The Dragon had completely recovered thanks to having absorbed such a staggering amount of wooden qi. The effects were so profound that he felt as if all those old, acc.u.mulated injuries from having fought for years throughout the world, were actually healed completely.
Without all those injuries holding him back, his powers grew by several folds as well.
His recovery was so frightening that he was completely sure that if he were to run into the likes of Adam and Saint Peter ganging, he could have taken them on without breaking a sweat.
He might have even gotten so powerful that he could have killed both of them at once.
He had finally broken through the shackles that were holding him back.
He had Lu Xuan to thank for all of that.
Lu Xuan waved and bagged the entire tree. None of the others had anything to say about that, for if it had not been for him, they probably would have had trouble even staying alive.
“I’ll contact the East Sea Fleet right away and tell them to escort us out of here,” the Dragon said.
With the Peach Tree of Immortality being in Lu Xuan’s hand, there was no reason to stay around any longer.
However, he was aware that fleets from four, maybe even more, nations were having their guns pointed at each other. If they were to simply venture outside like that, they might have as well painted targets on their backs.
It was especially so given how many foreign cultivators had been able to make it outside. It was probably only a matter of time before the nations out there knew that Lu Xuan was the one who killed Adam, Saint Peter, and the others. Everyone would have known that it was eventually the Huaxians who bagged the tree.
Lu Xuan and the others did not even have to speculate. They knew that the very moment they got off the island, missile barrages would be fired at them.
The fleets from various countries were still wary enough of each other to begin bombing each other’s ships, but the same could not be said for the cultivators.
Any of them could have simply chalked the attack as a mistake or whatever.
They needed protection from the East Sea Fleet to successfully take the tree back to the mainland.
“Right, but too bad that the signals here are jammed. There is nothing we could do about it. We could only get in touch with the fleet once we got off the island,” Ming Yueyao commented.
Lu Shanshan and Lin Miaoyi turned their gaze at Lu Xuan instead, making it clear that he was in charge at the moment.
“You two from far away. Show yourselves. We’re considered to be of the same gang, aren’t we? Why don’t you guys just come out and greet us, eh?” Lu Xuan said all of a sudden.
The shriveled old man and the pretty young woman behind a hill far away were both shocked to hear that. None of them expected Lu Xuan to detect their presence despite being hidden so far away.
“What did I tell you? I said mind your own business and now look at what happens! You really put your teacher in a ditch this time,” the old man grumbled away.
“Oh, so this is all my fault, eh?” That pretty young woman added right away, “Aren’t you here to see if you have a shot at the tree as well?”
That pretty young woman refused to shoulder the blame entirely on her own.
“Someday, you are gonna get me killed,” the old man grumbled and dragged the young woman out of hiding.
“Alright, alright, fellow countrymen here. We are Huaxians as well, and we harbor no ill intent!” the old man clarified right away.
“We’ve met once, Chief Dragon. I’m Zhang Sanfeng, remember?”
The old man went on with digging out connections at once.
The Dragon was stunned and recalled the old man shortly after, saying, “Oh, it’s you, old fart!”
However, his expression was that of relief as he added, “Mr. Lu, this old fart here might be cunning, but he’s not a bad guy.”
“Right, right, we’re the good guys.” That pretty young woman went up and added, “Hey cutie, my name’s Xiao Ying. You sure are good-looking, and I can tell you’re definitely a good guy. Given how pretty I am, I’m sure you can tell that I’m no villain as well.
“Well, except for my master here, I guess you can say that all of us here are good-looking indeed, and that definitely makes us good guys. My master might look like a shriveled twig, but he is not a bad guy!”
That old man named Zhang Sanfeng was practically fuming over what his disciple just said.
d.a.m.n, is this brat even making sense? So everyone here is on the side of good because they’re good-looking, and there is no problem with me being taken for a villain because I look ugly, eh?
Just what kind of logic is that? he wondered.
What the h.e.l.l are kids these days thinking? Is she serious about telling apart good guys and bad guys from looks alone?
So you’re saying that good looks are all that matters then?
Lu Xuan paid no heed to what the rather dysfunctional pair of master and disciple were thinking. But then again, he truly was unable to sense any ill intent emanating from the pair, or he would have taken care of the two of them a while ago instead of telling them to come out and all that.
“Well, since you two are not with those people, you’re free to leave,” Lu Xuan added.
Zhang Sanfeng felt as if he had just been absolved of a serious crime at that moment, dragging his very reluctant disciple away immediately. He had just witnessed a shocking ma.s.sacre a while ago, after all. That Adam, which he was unable to do much but look up to in awe, was reduced to bits and pieces. There was no way he could have kept his composure.
Lu Xuan flipped his hand around after seeing those two leave, conjuring a peach the size of a fist on his hand. That was the fruit he just took from the tree.
“You all could leave right now and look for the East Sea Fleet. I’ll stay around for a little while longer,” Lu Xuan added.
The Dragon took a look at Lu Xuan and nodded, leaving with Ming Yueyao shortly after that.
Lu Shanshan and Lin Miaoyi were the only two that stayed behind. Lu Xuan then gobbled up the peach without bothering to hide anything.
A powerful surge of energy began to rage all over the inside of his body right away.
There seemed to have been shackles that had held him back, preventing him from making a breakthrough.
That was the limit placed by the laws of nature of the world at the moment.
What he was doing right there, however, was bursting through such a limit just with sheer brute force.
