Chapter 134: Invincible Under Providence

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

All of them were able to sense just how powerful National Guardian level fighters were, and they were certainly far more fearsome than the Martial Arts Legends that had pa.s.sed by earlier.

Figures like these caused great pressure just by zipping past.

Lin Sheng, who was a Martial Arts Legend, felt his entire being tense up. It felt difficult to even flinch, making it obvious just how overwhelming the effect of level superiority was.

It was not until the monk left that he was finally able to breathe easily.

The threat that lingered in his mind, however, felt even stronger. If that monk were truly out to kill him, there would be nothing he could do about it.

The difference between them was unthinkably huge.

“Such might. It’s scary!”

One of the disciples of the Seven Invincible Sect exhaled heavily, feeling as if he had been nearly shocked to death.

At that moment, yet another group of people came by. The crowd saw that the group consisted only of bald men. They were none other than the monks of the Southern Shaolin Temple. One of the two leading figures was Master Buyi of the Dharma Hall, who unlike the other monks was often seen outside the temple.

The other leading figure was an older monk who stood slightly in front of Monk Buyi.

“Greetings, masters,” the elder in white said right away.

“Greetings, masters,” Lin Sheng said in response.

Although Monk Buyi had become a Level Six Martial Arts Legend, there was only one among the group of monks from the temple who was a true National Guardian.

It was the current abbot of the Southern Shaolin Temple, Master Bushuo.

“Amitabha. Greetings, benefactors. I a.s.sume that you’re all here to watch the battle too?” Master Buyi said, bowing in a Buddhist manner.

“Indeed we are. Are you all here to watch the battle as well? How about we travel together, then?” Lin Sheng said.

The Seven Invincible Sect shared an amicable relationship with the Southern Shaolin Temple, unlike their relationship with the Chen Clan. To be totally honest, this was mostly because they did not dare to get on the bad side of the temple.

The Southern Shaolin Temple had always remained neutral and taken an uncaring stance with regard to the ongoing conflict between the Seven Invincible Sect and the Chen Clan.

“We shall travel together, then.”

Master Buyi thought for a little bit and nodded swiftly.

He seemed to have caught onto what Lin Sheng was thinking about. There were simply too many formidable fighters around them. Without a National Guardian around, they would all end up easily wiped out if they got into trouble with anyone.

The visitors from the Chen Clan came to them not long after that. The now-ma.s.sive group made their way up to the mountain.

By that point, faces were seen everywhere at the peak of Mount Qingyun. All of them were exceptional cultivators, and they came from everywhere. Despite some places being inherently difficult and precarious perches, even those spots were taken up by ones who found standing in such places easy.

The places taken were organized according to cultivation levels. Those of greater training were able to get closer to the center, while those lacking in their training had to stand further away.

There were actually over a dozen formidable National Guardians seen up front. All of them were formidable fighters who’d come from all over the country just to witness a legendary fight of such unimaginable levels.

At the center of a small, flat plateau at the peak, a skinny elder was standing with his hands behind his back. It felt as though he was a pillar supporting the heavens just by standing still, so much so that one would have thought that his aura shot all the way into the clouds.

It was a pressure brought forth by overwhelming power.

Even those formidable National Guardian-level fighters were wary of the elder’s aura, wary enough to keep their distance from him.

Everyone dared only murmur in their discussion; no one dared to raise their voice.

“Is that Song Lingfeng, the Great Ancestor of the Song Clan?”

“Boy, he really is powerful. At first glance, you might even mistake him for a mountain instead of a man.”

“Deity-level beings are the strongest to be found in the world right now. The only mystery to them is how powerful they actually are, and how much more powerful they are than National Guardians.”

The crowd buzzed excitedly with discussion.

Suddenly, a blizzard swept over them, covering the entire peak in mere moments. None of it was much of a problem for those present. Their cultivation level was such that the cold no longer bothered them.

The crowd saw how Song Lingfeng remained unfazed where he stood, and they were impressed at how he simply behaved as if he were a statue.

Song Lingfeng’s eyes flew open suddenly. His face looked very pointed, as if rays were about to shoot out of his eyes.

“So you’re here, Lu Xuan,” Song Lingfeng said slowly.

Everyone was stunned. They all turned their gaze towards Song Lingfeng.

Then they saw a figure walking up from the foot of the mountain. He looked like he was in his early twenties at most, but one could have mistaken him to be in his late teens.

He wore overalls and a blue jacket, with a huge grey coat over them. He was also wearing a pair of sneakers, making his entire getup look quite casual. This made a stark contrast between him and the crowd of cultivators.

Everyone else on the mountain wore light clothing for ease of movement and because none of them felt cold.

Lu Xuan’s distinctly wintry attire made him look totally out of place with the crowd, who were dressed much more lightly.

“I’m here to kill you,” Lu Xuan said plainly.

There was not any particular aura to be sensed from Lu Xuan, so he appeared to be little more than a regular teenager.

However, no one present would have taken him for such. The snowflakes somehow all dissipated as soon as they hit him.

That feat alone was nothing any ordinary person could possibly do.

“Good.” Song Lingfeng was grinning. He did not care about what Lu Xuan said; he only cared if he showed up.

His goal was fulfilled as soon as Lu Xuan arrived.

He took one step in the snow, and what happened next was startling and remarkable. All snow within a 10-meter radius from Song Lingfeng’s body disappeared in an instant.

Many gasped in shock when they saw that, unable to imagine just how capable one would have to be in order to achieve such a feat. None of those present would have done something like that even if they were capable of it, as spending their powers somewhere that hardly mattered was seen as a huge waste.

Their Spiritual Qi reserves were just too limited for them to be used in such a wasteful manner, after all.

“If you are capable of reaching Deity level at your age, your talents are indeed unlike any I’ve seen in my life thus far. But you’ve made a grave mistake by getting on the bad side of the Song Clan.” Song Lingfeng slowly walked towards Lu Xuan. “You don’t get just how powerful the Song Clan, and subsequently the Holy Dragon Corporation, truly is. What you’re able to see is but the tip of the iceberg.”

“I have no idea where you learned my name, but today shall be the day of your death,” Song Lingfeng said coldly. “You have interrupted my isolation and my efforts to break through into Level Nine, but my state of mind shall be much improved after I kill you today. I’ll be nearly invincible, and with that, I shall have smooth sailing breaking into Level Nine. I shall truly be invincible under providence by then!”

“Invincible under providence? Hahahaha! My goodness, you’ve really been living under a rock,” Lu Xuan laughed. “Even if you do make it to Level Nine, you’re still a long way from being able to call yourself that.”

“Enough chatter. Let our fists do the talking instead.” Song Lingfeng smirked and pounced on Lu Xuan like he was an eagle pouncing on its prey.

He was moving at blinding speeds. The crowd simply saw a blink happening in front of them, and then Song Lingfeng appeared right before Lu Xuan.

Everyone was shocked by what they saw. The strength of Deity-level beings was indeed overarching, far greater than that of National Guardians.
