First mention in series: Appears in Taken by Midnight.

Nathan Gen One Breed, Corinne's son, fathered by the Ancient who was held in captivity with Dragos. Nathan has jet-black hair, but as a Hunter, his head is shaved, making visible the dermaglyphs that cover his scalp. He has almond-shaped greenish-blue eyes like his mother, and also has her ESP gift of sonokinesis. A Hunter (raised to be an a.s.sa.s.sin), Nathan was born in Dragos's breeding laboratory thirteen years before Corinne was freed by the Order during the timeline of Taken by Midnight.

Genetically, Nathan is the half-brother of his mother's mate, Hunter, and is also related to Tavia Fairchild and the other, undiscovered Gen One females birthed in Dragos's labs, who are each the product of DNA blending between the Ancient and unknown Breedmates. Nathan is quiet and remote, unreadable. Though just a boy, he is expertly lethal because of his upbringing and training.

During the timeline of Deeper Than Midnight, when Corinne and Hunter find Nathan in his Minion handler's keeping in Georgia and find a way to free him of his UV collar, Nathan at first runs away. He returns to them the next night because he realizes he has nowhere to go. The couple takes him home to the Order's relocated, temporary headquarters in Maine, where Nathan eventually becomes friends with Mira and Kellan.

First mention in series: Appears in Deeper Than Midnight.

Nigel Traherne (d.) Breed male, second generation. One of Dragos's inner circle, secret lieutenants. Traherne was the only one of Dragos's lieutenants with no direct ties to the Enforcement Agency, but was instead a well-connected, wealthy Darkhaven leader from London, England. He was present via video conference with Dragos during the timeline of Darker After Midnight, when the decision was made to unleash the Rogues from their rehabilitation facilities around the globe. Traherne alone expresses deep reservations about Dragos's plan, warning that an act of such magnitude cannot be undone. He reminds Dragos of recent setbacks in his operation's missions and suggests that exposing the Breed forever to mankind is too rash a decision. He goes on to say that his mate is with child and due any day, and his two older sons have given him more than a dozen grandchildren. Traherne's attack of conscience enrages Dragos, who orders the Breed male killed on the spot by the Hunter standing watch behind the London civilian on camera. Traherne's neck is snapped, and Dragos continues the meeting as if the dead male never existed.

First mention in series: Appears in Darker After Midnight.

He is impatient and a little c.o.c.ky, full of explosive energy, but far from reckless. Nikolai is the one you'd watching your back in the heat of battle, but you would more than likely find him ahead of you, blazing the trail clear of danger before you even got there. Together, Niko and Renata are parents to orphan Mira.

The nurse mentions that the lab needed to run Chase's blood work a third time, because the results keep coming back messed up. She also remarks to her coworker (see Nurse Mike) on Chase's condition, expressing astonishment that he could have survived so much bodily trauma. After Nurse Doublemint leaves the room, Chase begins his escape.

Octavia "Tavia" Fairchild Gen One Breed and Breedmate genetic hybrid, mate of Order member Sterling Chase; daywalker. Highly intelligent and capable, Tavia works as an a.s.sistant to a rising star senator in Boston. On the personal side, Tavia's greatest limitations are the "scars" she bears from the accident, and a rare medical condition that requires frequent treatments at a specialized private clinic. What Tavia doesn't realize--until her life collides with that of Sterling Chase, embroiled in an ongoing conflict of the Order's--is that everything she's been raised to believe has been a lie. She is neither human nor pure Breedmate; she is something extraordinary.

Tavia later learns the truth of her origins, including the fact that her aunt is actually a Minion tasked with supervising her upbringing and reporting to Dragos. Tavia also discovers there are other females like her when she and Chase uncover secured lab records in her doctor's office. They also carried the secret of the Ancient's hiding place in the Czech mountains. This secret drove most of the Odolf family mad, nearly all of the Breed males of this line going Rogue from the burden of the knowledge they held. The Odolf family kept a journal of their lineage, which also contained a riddle pertaining to the Ancient's hiding place, and a clue about Dragos's secret upbringing. Eventually, that journal left the family and was en route to Marek (see Sheldon Raines) in Boston. When the journal goes missing, intercepted by Elise and the Order, Marek turns to torturing members of the Odolf family, burning one Breed male with UV rays at Marek's lair in the Berkshires. The weight of this burden has driven most of the Odolf family males mad, Petrov being no exception. His sanity cracks completely during the timeline of Midnight Awakening, and he begins chanting a riddle that is also found in the Odolf family's journal. In a moment of clarity, Petrov blurts "that's where he's hiding," a clue that brings Elise, Tegan and the Order closer to finding the Ancient and unmasking Dragos as a true villain. During the timeline of A Taste of Midnight, Reiver is expecting a shipment of live cargo-humans-to supply one of his blood clubs when Danika MacConn, using her ESP ability, overhears the conversation at a Christmas party in the city. Unable to stand by and let the trade and slaughter of innocent people take place, Danika attempts to spy on Reiver and report back to the Order in Boston. Her efforts earn Reiver's fury, and he takes steps to eliminate the threat she poses to his business endeavors. One of his most trusted bodyguards turns out to be an old friend of Danika's (see Malcolm MacBain). She fought her abductors, and in the process unlocked her unique ability. Since that time, she was forced to serve as a bodyguard for her captor.

It was in this capacity that she crossed paths with a member of the Order, Nikolai, who was on a mission in Montreal involving Renata's employer. While serving her abductor, Renata also came into contact with another abductee, a young Breedmate girl named Mira, whom Renata took under her wing. Renata carries four custom-crafted daggers that each bear a quality that guides her life: courage, faith, honor, sacrifice. Sebastian learned of his father's lies when he'd been transferring some of his Victor's guns into a cabinet Sebastian had made for him. In the old cabinet were receipts of dressmakers and jewelers who were paid to replicate what Corinne was wearing when she went missing-clothing put on another woman who was killed and made to resemble Corinne in an effort to conceal her true fate. While at Yakut's lodge, Niko meets Renata and Mira, both of whom are living under Yakut's control. Yakut rules with a punishing hand; has burned Renata with irons and drinks her blood whenever he feels like it, using his bond to her to further control her and keep her in line. Renata is never permitted to drink from Yakut in return, out of his fear for how strong a full blood bond might make her and her ESP talent.

While at Yakut's lodge, Niko also learns of his blood club activities and a recent failed attempt on the Gen One's life by one of Dragos's homegrown a.s.sa.s.sins (see Hunter). Yakut's son, Alexei, in a grasp for power and influence with Dragos and his inner circle, later betrays his father and arranges for his killing in a Rogue attack at the lodge.

Seth's wild nature tempts him into killing humans, which eventually leads to his Bloodl.u.s.t.

Later, it becomes clear that Seth has gone Rogue and cannot be saved. In a final act of redemption, Seth sacrifices himself to help the Order kill the last remaining Ancient. After a b.l.o.o.d.y altercation, both Seth and the Ancient plummet off the side of a steep cliff, where the Ancient is buried under an avalanche of ice and snow, but Seth comes to rest on an outcrop below. Although Kade attempts to save him, Seth dies of his wounds. Kade and Alex bring Seth's body home to the family Darkhaven, where Kade reconciles with his father and attends Seth's funeral with Alex.

Sharon meanwhile continues to work at the runaway shelter in Brooklyn, New York, where she is crushing on the shelter's chief benefactor, Gordon Fa.s.so (see Dragos).

Sharon's work at the shelter, and particularly her connection to a young woman who recently went missing (see Toni) provides clues for Dylan and the Order to get closer to Dragos. Eventually, Dragos finds out that Sharon's daughter is involved with the Order and he confronts the terminally ill woman, threatening her for information. Sharon does not compromise her beloved daughter, not even after Dragos reveals himself to be a vampire. During the altercation with Dragos, Sharon defies him, deliberately tumbling off her condo balcony, where she dies in the fall. Sharon Alexander is buried in Queens, New York, her afternoon funeral attended by Dylan and the other Breedmates of the Order.
