Ji Chuancheng effortlessly placed both the big and small bags next to the fabric sofa in the living room. Jing Xia, who had just entered the house, did not get a moment to catch his breath. He was dumbfounded as his gaze fell on the woman perched on the back of the sofa, laughing and greeting himself.
"Hey, little b.a.s.t.a.r.d, I haven't seen you for a long time."
His eyes widened, and Jing Xia stood stiffly in place. He stared at the bright and beautiful woman, dazed.
Her rich long blond locks were tied in a ponytail, with the ends casually draped over her white shoulders, in a charming and beautiful beach waves style. Even in such a critical junction, she was still wearing delicate makeup, with her full lips coloured in the brightest red.
Jing Xia exclaimed, "Qin... Sister Qin? How come you are here?"
Qin Chu quirked her lips into a smile. She used her arms to support herself as she lowered herself from the back of the sofa. Walking on golden stilettos of 10 cm, this lady with an imperious manner came to Jing Xia’s side. She gave a gentle smile, before reaching out to mercilessly pinch his tender skin.
"Sister Qin!"
Feeling satisfied after pinching twice, Qin Chu smiled as she let go, saying,: "What? You are allowed to come to find the young master, yet I’m not allowed to come and find him? Judging by your previous shocked expression, did you want to chase out your Sister Qin?"
Qin Chu is not young, being at least two years older than Ji Chuancheng. She can be considered to have grown up with Ji Chuancheng and Jing Xia. With the Qin family being military doctors for countless generations, it was only natural that her father was the special military doctor for General Ji. Qin Chu naturally also inherited her father's legacy, becoming even better than her predecessor, and is now an outstanding military doctor.
As Father Qin died of illness when she was at the age of five, Qin Chu was adopted by General Ji into the Ji family.
Jing Xia sullenly lowered his head, and quietly muttered,: "How could that be, you can find your young master whenever you want, it’s not like I’m stopping you."
Hearing this, Qin Chu hooked her red lips, lifting her right hand that was adorned with lightly coated with nail polish, preparing to go and □□ this little b.a.s.t.a.r.d again. However, just as her hand was lifted up halfway, someone pulled her to a sudden stop. She doubtfully looked up, only to see Ji Chuancheng contract his pupils. He looked at her indifferently and said, “Enough, don't make trouble anymore. Jing Xia and I will first go upstairs together and discuss in the study.”
Hearing this, Qin Chu helplessly blinked. She always took heed of Ji Chuancheng’s words, so she regretfully released Jing Xia this time. Jing Xia’s person became a lot more relaxed, giving a heavy sigh of relief, before following Ji Chuancheng up spiral staircase to the second floor.
As the thick glossy mahogany doors closed with a “peng” behind Jing Xia. As he heard the crisp sound of the lock that was almost like the click of the tongue, his body completely relaxed.
Ji Chuancheng walked directly to the small maroon lambskin sofa by the window and sat down. Then he lifted his head and asked, "What did you want to tell me?"
At this, Jing Xia finally took his gaze away from the study, before stepping forward to sit in the armchair opposite of Ji Chuancheng. The study was very large, yet only the simplest office supplies were present. The driftwood bookshelf was filled with all kinds of books, the majority of which are foreign books, which is not what Jing Xia was interested in.
He watched as Ji Chuancheng picked up the teapot on the coffee table and poured a cup of green tea for himself, hence he sighed, "A’chuan, actually I’m not sure how to say this to you, however... I believe the person that I can trust most and who can also help me with this issue, is you."
The moment when he heard the word "trust", Ji Chuancheng’s hand that was pouring the tea trembled, a little of the rippling green tea immediately splashed outside the cup, however the pot was quickly stabilized by him. Pushing the ancient-styled blue-and-white porcelain cup in front of Jing Xia with a finger, Ji Chuancheng lifted his eyes and fixed his gaze on him solemnly, saying,: "It seems that this is an extremely grave matter. If you wish to say it, I can guarantee that this will never leak outside. If you don't wish to say it, I can pretend that I did not hear anything just then."
"What if I said that this matters concerns the entire seven billion humans on this planet?"
Ji Chuancheng stared blankly, before answering without even a second of hesitation: "I believe in you."
A warm current suddenly spread from Jing Xia’s stomach, travelling through his blood vessels and finally dissipating in his body, as this sentence penetrated through his ears and was transmitted to the central nervous system. All the fear, worry and chill that had been hidden in his heart since he had opened his eyes in this world, finally dissipated.
Sure enough, since he was young, as long as Ji Chuancheng was present, he never had to worry about anything.
