CHAPTER 12
Borak raised his eyebrows, he hadn’t expected very much at all from such a small thing. Yet, she had retaliated very well! He became even more interested in the reason of why this tiny, little girl was accepted into the family. “Little one, you are indeed correct. I am ashamed! Perhaps, I can offer advice to little one to make amends?”
He watched her every move…And, looked at her features.
He noticed that she looked similar to Talon, with the brown hair and eyes. Her hair, of course, was still quite short and a bit fluffy…But, with only this small resemblance, how could he say that she was an illegitimate child of Talon’s?
I continued to stare at my new ‘Uncle’, finding it funny that he at first seemed to want to scold me and now seemed to want to be on my good side.
Borak seemed a little dismayed, to get her to talk seemed a feat in itself!
I didn’t want him to linger longer then required, so I said, “Uncle, to make amends is not needed.”
With her wanting to close the conversation, Borak was stunned. She couldn’t be even three years old, yet, she sounded like she knew what she was talking about…
“Very well, I am indebted to my new niece. Find me, if you are in need one day, then Uncle will help you!” Borak said unhappily.
He had wanted to get the better of the girl, or get her to think that he could be her future master, but it turned out that he had gained absolutely nothing at all!
With no further pleasantries, Borak left me alone and I went back to staring at the scenery outside of the door.
I had no intention to make ‘Uncle’ unhappy, this was the way I was. I didn’t want to linger on useless things like having someone indebted to me, or fighting about common courtesy. I had read many books, were characters get into trouble with just words, be blamed for something they didn’t do or fall into a trap. To me, I was a bit worried about all of these things happening…Trying not to stand out and saying as little as possible, it should help me…
I turned my head back to the hall, and found Borak staring at me in contemplation.
It looks like I might have made things worse. Not only do I have to be aware of whose people are who, but of my ‘Uncle’ himself.
I was already tired about it, even though nothing had happened yet.
Not long after that, the gathering slowly finished, and I could return to my new ‘house’. It had been a long day, a long week, a long year…
I really wanted to take it easy and relax!
Luckily, as I start to learn how to become a lady and go back to ‘school’, cultivate and train, things didn’t happen as I predicted them. My ‘Uncle’ seemed to continue to lay low and didn’t interact with me very much at all. Even though I continued to see two lots of groups, nothing happened within the family that would be considered as a fight. With this, and over time, I didn’t let down my guard completely, but I tried to relax a little bit more.
Seeing as the technology I used to entertain myself on Earth didn’t exist here, I diligently put my effort into what my father wanted. ‘School’ was easy, but I was lazy. I was able to pick up on ‘painting’ really quickly, I had thought using a brush, instead of a pen, to write, was going to be a lot harder...
I did not stir up a scandal to say I was a genius, but I seemed to look like I wasn’t listening to the teacher and yet get full marks.
My ‘lady training’ was harder…In my previous life, I was a bogan…Dressed totally for comfort…Just thinking about the dresses and how uncomfortable they were, was enough to drive me insane!
Not only that, my laziness didn’t help me here either. I had to learn how to do everything all over again because I’d already started to slouch and walk differently to a lady. It seemed so hard, because I hadn’t done this in my last life, but…They really did punish you!
In ‘school’ I rarely got hit, but in ‘lady training’ I got hit very often!
What else was I to do, but do as I was told! I wasn’t stupid, I tried very hard to smash my habit and not get hit anymore!
Whenever I finished my ‘lady training’, I would breathe a sigh of relief and run away from the lady teacher.
On the other hand, I much more preferred to cultivate and train in Martial Arts. Most of the time when I’m doing these two activities, I would be by myself. And through the years, people tended to know me as someone who rarely talks, and had quite a cold, distant personality.
I had also seemed to use different clothes, that were of both that of a lady and male. I had wanted to go straight to male’s clothes because of the comfortability, especially with Martial Arts, but Talon and I had said many words to one another, and I could only negotiate to wear clothes of both male and female, and only inside of the estate…
