He opened that cupboard first since Kusamakura happened to come today, but if he hadn’t noticed it until tomorrow, he would have ended up looking for it in the morning when he was busy. He was frozen stiff, still grasping the mug, until Kusamakura called out to him.
“What’s wrong?”
The face he turned to him must have been making a terribly pathetic expression.
“Tatsumi?”
“&h.e.l.lip;&h.e.l.lip;I knew it, there’s been someone in here other than me.”
“Did something happen?”
Tatsumi explained how the location of his mug had changed as his expression tensed. The possibility that it was his own miss or mistake wasn’t zero of course. It could have been that, or maybe he wasn’t aware he was a sleepwalker. However, it was definitely natural to think it was someone else’s doing when things like this happened. It was definitely natural, but that in of itself made him afraid for another reason. He locked the door. He made sure to lock it. So how did they get in?
—Scary.
He had no idea. Had someone made a duplicate of his key? It was scary enough if it was someone he knew, but when he thought about someone he didn’t know coming into his home, he became even more afraid. Even if there was someone in his home, being unable to see, he would have a difficult time knowing about it.
