I didn’t mean to tease you, sorry, Tatsumi apologized.
Shut up, he replied back.
From the way he sounded, it seemed like he had turned away from some reason. Perhaps it was from the movement of him turning his face away, but a mysterious fragrance wafted from Kusamakura. The scent that faintly grazed the cavities of his nose smelled sweet, like flowers, or maybe a pastry. At any rate, it was nothing like he had ever smelled before.
—Cologne? Hair product? I’m not really sure, but it smells nice&h.e.l.lip;&h.e.l.lip;
“&h.e.l.lip;&h.e.l.lip;n-now what?”
“Huh, ah. Sorry!”
He must have unconsciously brought his face closer to him. Tatsumi frantically pulled away when he felt his breath against his skin. He wasn’t a child, but he still ended up invading his personal s.p.a.ce while in a daze. Feeling embarra.s.sed, Tatsumi touched his cheeks that began to burn.
“Sorry, it’s just, something smelled sweet, and couldn’t help myself.”

Tatsumi panicked even more at his puzzled reaction. Saying something like that to another man, something that also sounded kind of perverted, must have made Kusamakura back away. Tatsumi felt dizzy, but Kusamakura just let out a short sigh.
“I think you’re the one who smells sweet though.”
