If one were to think of the myths, of course, the Demon Bodhisattva was superior, but since this involved monsters, the outcome may be affected. Of course, Ye Qin himself already had an idea before the battle even began, but he wouldn't be certain until he saw the Hundun for him.
After a while, both teams from the Battle Temple and the Heaven's Gate gathered. For these next two matches, only the first year grade from each of the four colleges would partic.i.p.ate.
On one side, the Battle Temple's captain looked over to Ye Qin briefly, as he stood next to his team and faced his opponent. With both teams somewhat recovered from the last battle, a new battle would now begin in order to determine third place.
Once again, four familiar monsters on each side appeared on the stage. Each person had determined their opponents, based on the position that each member had stood in. Only the captains of both teams had yet to reveal their monsters.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
At the same time, as if it were planned, both captains summoned their partner from the Monster sea at the same time. Two bright magic circles could be seen across the stage, on opposing sides.
On one side, a pitch black magic circle, the other; a golden purple circle. After a few seconds, two powerful auras were unleashed at the same time. A powerful and chilling darkness loomed over a large beast with six arms, and a dog-like face. It's back with three pairs of wings, while its eyes seemed as though it could not see the light.
[Monster: Hundun]
[Level: 37]
[Grade: Epic]
[Type: Mythical Beast]
[Element: Darkness]
[Additional Info: A true Hundun, bringing chaos and confusion, the bearer of the World Egg, one of the Four Evils that opposed the Four Pure Ones. It's eyes cannot see the light, however, its senses are extremely sharp and acute.]
On the opposing side, a terrible golden purple aura, being slowly upsurging from a single being. The being was bald and resembled a monk, from its body; a horrible storm of two legendary powers were rotating around.
One side, the calm power of Buddhism, the other; the violent surge of power of the Devil. Two equal but opposing sides had joined as one, bringing forth a new power capable of newfound strength.
A soft Buddhist scripture was echoing, while a violent 'ohm' resounded at the same time.
Now, both captains had summoned their newly evolved partners. When w.a.n.g Tao saw this, he was now certain of his guess. As for Ye Qin, his previous thoughts were also resolved once both monsters appeared.
He now knew the results of this battle, before it had even begun. No, the battle had already begun when the two monsters were summoned.
While the two brothers weren't surprised, everyone else who watched the match wasn 't the same. Just a while ago, they had seen the monsters of both captains, now the two monsters had undergone an evolution in such a short period, leaving them breathless.
Even the four other members of both teams showed looks of surprise. Their captains had not informed them of such a thing, of course, they may not even believe it in the first place.
It was now uncertain which team would win. Whether the Battle Temple would claim third place this year, replacing the Heaven's Gate, or if the latter would defend their position after losing second place.
Either way, the positions held by the colleges had been shifted once again after many years. For decades, the places had been the same and unchanging. That was, until this generation, where many young geniuses suddenly emerged all at once.
It was a golden era for China, and also all of humanity. When the two captains summoned their monsters, the team members of both teams looked at each other and recalled their partners. For this battle, they decided to bet on their respective captains.
Only a single battle would take place, in order to determine the new ranking. Now, there was a much larger field for both sides to fight on. Before the match had begun, the stadium changed. There was now a stronger field to protect students, while the ground and walls were made of much st.u.r.dier materials to withstand greater damage.
The Hundun, while blind, knew exactly where its foe was. A being such as itself hated peace and loved chaos. It was even more so after it had evolved from the Faceless One. After suffering defeat, it brought it the chance to evolve and become much stronger.
In its six arms, large axes suddenly appeared in each hand. It immediately flew towards the Demon Bodhisattva using all six of its wings. Since it was now smaller and more agile, its flying speed was much greater than before.
On the other side, the Demon Bodhisattva could sense its opponent coming. Rather than seeing with its eyes that were completely shut, its senses allowed it to see everything in place of its eyes.
Behind it, a surging golden energy suddenly erupted like a volcano. A small buddhist symbol appeared above its head and rotated at a slow pace. As it did so, its energy grew greater and more powerful.
The Demon Bodhisattva faced the Hundun as its hand reached forward, in the shape of a palm. Suddenly, a huge golden palm appeared out of nowhere, and went straight for the opposing side.
In mid flight, the Hundun sensed the golden palm ahead. Its axes were raised as it prepared to hack whatever was in its path. Its arms were readied to chop forward as soon as contact was made. Ignoring the powerful energy being emitted, it dove straight in with extreme confidence.
