Terra Nova 1 Chapter 1: It All Begins Again

It all started on seemingly normal day. Everyone could hear monotone female voice, waking up those that slept. And few seconds after, suddenly whole human population was transported to new world with cla.s.ses, monsters, dungeons and arenas. And so humans had to fight everday to survive and after many years they lost. Last army of humanity lost. Their hopes of peace and new beggining were shatterd. One of commanders in final battle was laying on the ground unable to move. Instead of dieing quick he had to be there, listening to his comardes screams, that was worst torture he could recieve.

"All those lives! Many died under my command, promising them their lives aren't for nothing, that someday they will become heroes. And what do i do? I'm here powerless, one step away from reaching end."

"What do you think you are doing! You think that you have a audacity to lose! No way will i let it end here, so many years of facing death, just for this! I need to stand up... i need to...i need to stan-"

"Today we are going to learn to use Unity, its mostly used fo-. Alex wake up!"

Alex lifted his head up to look at direction from where this faint voice was coming from.▪ Who is this woman, where am i? It's all so blurry.▪ After rubbing his eyes for few second he was finally able to see but still couldn't believe what he saw.

"Go home and sleep there!" After screaming at him, teacher turned back to presentation that she was showing, murmuring something to her chin "Kids these days have zero respect, back in my days if i was to fall asleep in cla.s.s i would get slapped until i fell asleep again."

▪I'm in university? How is that possible? Did i go back in time? Was it all a dream? Did i get a vision of a future? These memories, they are too clear, i'm positive i went back in time. Does that mean i will have to live again throught all that. Wait, which date is it!?▪

"Hey you! Which date is it!?" Alex shouted towards girl siting two rows behind him.

" Its... Its 26th of June." Said girl little scared from sudden jump of screaming tall man standing before her. He is around 190 cm, had black hair, strong jawline and deep dark blue eyes.

"It's 26th of June." She needed few second to compose herself again.

▪Its 26th??▪

"What time is it!?" Asked Alex with commanding voice.

"Stop screaming you little s.h.i.t! Just get out from my cla.s.s! Now!" She pointed her finger towards the doors. But Alex didn't care, with his wide back turned to her he just waited for answear from student.

"It's 2:16."

"What year?"

"2020." She was confused at these questions, same as everyone in the cla.s.sroom, except teacher that was fuming with anger.

▪I went all the way back, 14 years. I have just 2 hourse before transportation. Wait. Will i get to see them again!? I will get to see them right, right? I miss them so much! If i really went back in time, i will make SURE they live!▪

▪Oh G.o.d, which were their cla.s.srooms, i can't remember. Well i guess i will just go throught every one of them.▪

Alex kept running and checking every cla.s.sroom, in both he searched so far, everyone stared at him like he was some psycho. He was currently next to a third door. Opening it with great force.

"..."

Everyone stared at him confused, but he didn't care he just focused on one person, not saying anything. His gaze was extremly focused. His eyes were filling up with tears. He had to try his absolute best to keep them in.

"Yo, Alex, what you doing here?" Said his friend with a little bit of emberressment in his voice for his friends actions.

"...Rez... we need to talk." Alex said with great emotion in his voice, on verge of crying. Rez immeditly forgot embarra.s.sment when he heard him. He didn't know those were tears of joy.

"Hey what's wrong man?"

"Let's go get Adam and Ashley, i'll explain it later." Alex was trying his hardest not to give strong hug to his friend that died for him, so many years pa.s.sed, he didn't see him for so long, his cheerful friend that he viewed as brother. He knew there is not enough time for happy reunion, well one sided, they just had little under 2 hourse and there was so much to tell them.

With Rez help they quickly made it to Adam and Ashley. Alex was in same state as when he saw Rez. He got to see his best friends again and also his family. Alex was rushing outside, with his three friends following close behind. They were extremly worried for him, but they knew they are gonna talk soon so they didn't bring it up. While running he called someone on his phone.

"Beep... beep...beep.. h.e.l.lo" After hearing her voice he couldn't hold his tears anymore, it was too much for a single day, to get to talk to your loved ones after so many years, after having to face with their deaths and live with it.

"Mia, i missed you." His voice tearing up a little. After hearing this Rez, Adam and Ashley were now even more worried.

"Brother, what's wrong, what made you cry, where are you?" Her sweet voice was filled with worry. That made Alex even more happy, his caring sister and friends are really here, he really gets a chance to be with them.

"Don't go to part-time today, wait for me at home."

Both Alex and his younger sister Mia worked part-time. They were on shortage of money since day their parents died in a accident. Alex always worked hard, but after that he had to do better than that. Unfortunatly for them, they didn't have any realitives that would help, they didn't know most of them, but ones they did know didn't give them money or shelter. He got schoolarship for best univirsety and worked part-time job, it couldn't really be called part-time since he spent somedays up to nine hourse there, getting not more than 5 hourse of sleep. His sixteen-year old sister started working part-time too, so they could have more income, Alex was against this, but she was just too stubborn.

After 15 minutes they were in front of the old, tiny apartment. He rang the bell. Second after that door was opened, one that opened it was Mia, she was actually standing right next to a door so she could open it as fast as possible. They stared at each other for few seconds. Not saying anything Alex came up to her and hugged her tightly.

▪They won't die! I won't let that happen again, no way will they experience the same fate as before! I will make sure they are with me after we beat that f.u.c.ker, this time i will make sure to lead humanity to winning!▪ Alex knew that it wasn't going to be easy, but at that moment, he felt he could break anything that stands in his way of happinies.

"Brother. What happend? You can talk to me." Mia didn't care about three standing outside watching the scene. Her brother was of most importance.

"I had a horrible nightmere." Alex knew it wasn't a dream, but still decided to say it is.

"It's okay, now it's fine.... Do you want to talk about it?"

"Yes, i want to talk about it with four of you of you. Adam, Rez, Ashley, come inside."

After they sat at the table that was in the center of the room, Alex wore a serious face.

"It felt like a really long nightmere. In it, we were all teleporteted to a new world. Where we had to fight to survive. In that nightmere you... you all died. Everytime one of you died it's like i lost part of my soul, of my life. I didn't know what to do, i had many thoughts about killing myself, but everytime i wanted to do it i remembered your faces, it was like you were stoping me from ending it all."

They knew Alex wasn't joking, he was too seriouse. if he really was acting, he was best actor they ever saw. To swithing between deeper and higher tones, to puting in pauses while speaking, to occesional glances at the wall not wanting to face them, all emotion in his voice, to all that he did before this, it was just too real

After few seconds of silence Rez tried to lift spirits of his friend.

"It's okay man, it was just a nightmere, we won't die, unfortunatly you will have to put up with my rambling for a long time hahaha." But instead of smiling, Alex just kept his seriouse face, with even more saddnest showing on it.

"It's not just a nightmere, it will happen, i'm sure of it. In 4:00 we will get teleported to that horrible world. When we get there i will tell you what to do but its best to call your families, this might be last time you talk to them."

After hearing that they immidetly jumped on their phones to call their parents and siblings. Only Ashley had family in this city, she was living in apartmemt with her little brothet, while Rez and Adam lived in student dorms. Ashleys younger brother was same age as Mia and coincidently her cla.s.smate. Her parents and family of Adam and Rez were all unable to come. This might be last time hearimg their voice, they said all that was on their heart and how they felt. They encoureged them that they must stay alive. They hoped they won't die until they find them. There was a way for all of them to teleport together, for all to have some sort of physical contant like holding hands. After a few minutes Ashley's brother Ace came.

Alex was sad when he heard all to familiar female monotone voice in his head. It seems like he wasn't crazy, he really did come back. He will have to walk throught h.e.l.l again. But this time, it won't have same ending.
