Chapter 7 - Having A Meal
Song Xiao stole a glance at Yu Tang’s expression. He saw that the boy looked a little impatient, but his eyes had some antic.i.p.ation. Song Xiao couldn’t help but break out in laughter. Sure enough, Yu Tang was a child in his heart, even wearing a name tag could make him so happy, the previous Jing Yuan Emperor wasn’t this fun to coax.
Opening the package, he learned from Yu Tang and pinned it for him. Since it was summer, the shirt was very thin, the body warmth of the youth seeping through. Song Xiao had carefully pulled up his clothes slightly, but his fingertips still touched his body through the cloth, his breathing suddenly stagnated for a moment. He hurriedly pinned the name tag, a touch and go.
In the past, Yu Jintang had always liked letting him fasten his belt and put on the ornaments, so for this kind of things, he did it very naturally.
Yu Tang looked down at the name tag on his chest and involuntarily smiled, but soon it quickly disappeared, returning to his cold appearance. He signed the application form at the general office, then let Song Xiao carry the small box and follow him back.
The box had over thirty name tags, but it wasn’t heavy, so Song Xiao followed Yu Tang back to the cla.s.sroom.
By this time, cla.s.s had already started, fortunately this was the last morning cla.s.s, still self-study, but from outside the cla.s.sroom, they could already see a shiny round thing swaying at the teacher’s desk.
Yu Tang glanced at the teacher’s desk, then brought Song Xiao through from the back door, sitting down on their seats.
After entering the cla.s.sroom, Song Xiao realized that the shiny thing was the head of the math teacher. The math teacher was bald, with only a circle of birds nest hair. Since this period was self-study, the math teacher had come over to explain two homework questions.
Just a week before cla.s.s began. The one who had just learned ‘number sets’, Song Xiao looked at the blackboard filled with brackets and felt a bit dizzy, and could only pull out his textbook and read anew.
“This number… Look at the board!” When the math teacher was talking halfway, he noticed some students weren’t paying that much attention, so he smacked the blackboard. Most of the students snapped out of it, and there was only one student who still had their head lowered. The math teacher immediately released his killing skill— throwing the chalk through the air.
The short chalk head was a parabola, with the math teacher’s thunderous anger, it flew straight at Song Xiao’s head.
“Pa!” Right before the chalk could hit Song Xiao, it was steadily caught by a hand with distinct joints.
“Teacher, he’s new here, so he doesn’t understand.” Yu Tang looked at the math teacher who had been angered until his eyes were bulging, and indifferently said as such, casually throwing, and the chalk steadily landed in the chalk box.
“Wah, how handsome!” A girl sighed softly.
“So it’s a new student. If you don’t understand you should still listen, I’ll explain this question again.” Because each teacher taught two cla.s.ses for only about a week, the math teacher couldn’t recognize everyone, so he didn’t realize that there was a new student. He couldn’t help feeling a little embarra.s.sed, coughing dryly once then continued to teach.
Song Xiao raised his head in a daze, unable to understand what had happened.
The two questions were soon taught, and students were told to do their cla.s.swork quickly and pa.s.s it in during the afternoon. The math teacher touched his bald head in satisfaction and walked out of the cla.s.sroom.
“The posture of the cla.s.s monitor catching the chalk was so handsome!” A girl softly muttered to her deskmate.
“I know right? He was just like a martial arts master.” Her deskmate excitedly nodded her head in agreement.
“So being deskmates with the monitor had this kind of benefits, aooo, with the monitor as a deskmate, this mother wouldn’t have to worry about ever being hit by the chalk.” The two girls excitedly waved their fists.
The students in the cla.s.s began to discuss slowly, creating a hum of noise for a while.
Yu Tang stood up and raised his chin, motioning for Song Xiao to follow him with the box. He then took the lead in walking up to the platform, looking down coldly.
The cla.s.sroom that was beginning to become lively immediately became absolutely silent.
“You pa.s.s it out.” Yu Tang told Song Xiao to put the box on the teacher’s desk, then he himself stood at the side, letting Song Xiao pa.s.s out the name tags.
Song Xiao was shocked still, as if returning to that year’s palace draft. Just after he married the emperor, the courtiers had proposed recruiting concubines. In the first round of drafting, for the ladies of high statuses within the family or incredible beauty, the emperor could directly issue the brand. Jingyuan Emperor took a look at the orioles and swallows, and had even felt impatient, tossing the brand to Song Xiao, and had said this sentence “you pa.s.s it out”.
Looking down at the metal tags with S-M engravings in his hand, Song Xiao let out a soft chuckle. This was a nametag he had to give out, not drafting women.
The student tags were arranged according to student numbers, so Song Xiao called each student in that order to come and collect it, and while pa.s.sing it out, at this time, he got to know everyone in this cla.s.s. The students, because of collecting their name tags, also dispersed the unfamiliar feeling towards this new student.
Everyone began to excitedly wear their name tags and Song Xiao returned to his seat to concentrate on doing his homework.
The cla.s.swork wasn’t hard, it was just cla.s.sifying set numbers. The Song Xiao who already memorized all the Arabic numerals, and also learned mathematical equations, opened up his textbook to look over once, then basically knew what to do.
Yu Tang rested his head against his hand, quietly watching him do his homework.
Each stroke was very slow, but the words written out were extremely beautiful, bringing a sense of natural heavenly charm, unexpectedly treating these math questions as a copybook for practicing his calligraphy with the pen.
After finishing his work, Song Xiao exhaled softly, turned his head, then saw his deskmate watching him attentively. That concentrated expression was exactly like how the Jingyuan Emperor had looked at him.
He had thought that he would waste years looking for his reincarnation, but unexpectedly, it took less than a month for them to meet. It seemed that heaven had really taken pity on them.
“What- What’s wrong?” Song Xiao asked nervously.
“Let me copy your homework,” Yu Tang said expressionlessly.
Song Xiao: “……”
Without waiting for Song Xiao’s response, Yu Tang had already taken away his workbook. With strong and forceful strokes, his pen flew across the page, and efficiently finished copying the workbook. He then threw both their books to Song Xiao, laying on the table to continue sleeping.
“If you’ve finished your homework then pa.s.s it to me ba,” Liu Lu who sat in front turned her head back, beamingly saying, “I’m the group leader.”
Song Xiao handed over the two workbooks and turned to look at Yu Tang, who only had the back of his head visible. So it turned out that he had stared at him for such a long time was because he wanted to copy his workbook? Pulling the corner of his lips, he took out his textbook to continue reading.
“Ring——” The recess bell rang, and the students who had just been quiet immediately rushed out of the cla.s.sroom.
Song Xiao looked around, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
“Let’s go eat, if we’re too late all the good food would have been s.n.a.t.c.hed clean.” Qian Jiahui reminded Song Xiao, then ran like a gust of wind.
The army of students desperate for food marched towards the canteen. Song Xiao noticed that everyone grouped together in twos and threes. He subconsciously looked for Yu Tang, but realized that the person was already far away.
“Song Xiao, no one’s eating with you?” Hua jie sidled up, brightly saying, “Then I’ll go with you.”
“No need.” Song Xiao waved a hand. Eating with a female, it was inappropriate.
“You haven’t gotten a meal card yet.” Hua jie said persistently.
“Meal card?” Song Xiao looked at her blankly. Then he remembered, before entering the cla.s.s, teacher Jia had told him to set up a meal card. At that time, Si Dashu had said he would handle it, but now there still wasn’t any sign of him.
“Why are you so slow?” A deep and pleasant voice sounded from above his head. Song Xiao looked up and saw Yu Tang’s handsome face. The face that had not undergone much hardship was tender, and he was so close that the tiny hair on his face was visible.
Song Xiao hadn’t even replied when Yu Tang had already dragged him away by the wrist.
The first floor of the canteen had already been filled up by students, so Yu Tang directly brought Song Xiao up to the third floor. Sheng Meng High School’s canteen had three floors. The first floor had the common canteen meals, the second had stir-fried dishes, and the third had self-service.
Most of the children of the rich families would head upstairs to eat, and the self-service floor would have students swipe their meal card to the entrance.
“I don’t have a meal card yet.” Song Xiao took out his wallet from his pocket and asked the worker where he could apply for the meal card.
Yu Tang swiped his card and threw it at him. “Swipe my card.”
Several girls behind them squealed in surprise, “Oh my G.o.d, this is just like the scene in ‘Meteor Storm’.”
Song Xiao smiled. He knew about this show, it was a popular TV drama. A few days ago, the home tutor Ding Hui let him do some test papers, while she watched this show on his computer.
The impoverished female lead saw a bag she particularly liked, but she had no money. The male lead who was a company’s president then took out a gold card and threw it at her and said, “Swipe my card.”
At that time, Ding Hui had sighed, saying that if she ever met this kind of boyfriend she would have married him.
Looking at the card which had the school emblem and a large S-M, Song Xiao shook his head. What was this nonsense?
