Chapter 67 - Mole
Yu Tang had no intention of putting down the person on his back. Instead, he hitched the person up to make him more comfortable as he expressionlessly returned the greeting. “Ninth uncle, aunt.”
“Oh, Tang, I’ve said before that you don’t need to call me aunt.” Camellia’s face twisted. “We’re fellow students, aren’t we?”
Song Xiao leaned on Yu Tang’s shoulder and blinked at that ninth uncle. While Camellia and Yu Tang were speaking, ninth uncle thought that no one was looking at him, and his eyes flashed with something different. He first looked at Yu Tang critically, then at the person on Yu Tang’s shoulder. Who knew that he would collide head-on with Song Xiao’s gaze.
“Hi, nice to meet you.” Yu Lang’s expression didn’t change as he greeted Song Xiao.
Before Song Xiao could respond, Yu Tang opened his mouth. “My friend’s not feeling well. We’ll leave first, the two of you go and have fun.”
Since Yu Tang had said this, it wasn’t nice for the two of them to continue conversing, so they could only watch helplessly as Yu Tang departed with Song Xiao on his back. The secret guard and Gonggong promptly followed them, and it was only then that Yu Lang noticed the two people who had a very low presence. He was instantly startled. “Butler Cao, why are you here?!”
As the Yu family’s main butler, Butler Cao could only follow the family head. However, he was following Yu Tang today, someone who was two generations below in the family!
“Ninth young master.” Butler Cao greeted him gracefully. “This was the family head’s will.” This was an extremely masterful sentence: Butler Cao was saying that he had come out with the family head’s permission, but what Yu Lang heard was that Butler Cao accompanying Yu Tang was the family head’s idea.
Since Yu Lang believed this was the case, he naturally wouldn’t go and confirm it with the family head.
Done speaking, Butler Cao hurried after Yu Tang.
Yu Lang slowly narrowed his eyes, his pupils dark.
“Looks like your situation is bleak.” Camellia raised her eyebrows as she looked at Yu Lang. Given how much the family head valued this di grandson of his eldest son, Yu Lang’s situation as the young son was in danger.
“He’s still just from the younger generation.” Yu Lang immediately retracted his moody gaze and turned his head to look at Camellia. “Look how he’s so welcomed by father; he’ll definitely have status in the family in the future.”
Camellia raised her eyebrows and started to formulate a plan.
“Your ninth uncle…” Song Xiao couldn’t help warning Yu Tang when the latter placed him in the tour car.
“I know,” Yu Tang said without care as he had Song Xiao lie down on his lap. “The Yu family is all like this.” This ninth uncle always had a very cordial appearance, but Yu Tang had never once believed it. Ninth uncle was the youngest child from a second wife, and Yu laoyezi liked him very much. It was just that this doting would make him covet things that weren’t his.
Seeing that Yu Tang had a plan, Song Xiao didn’t say anything more. After so many roller coaster rides in a row, some people would experience something similar to carsickness. Song Xiao still felt a little dizzy, so he buried his face against Yu Tang’s waist.
Yu Tang stiffened for a moment, then pulled him up for a hug.
Over at the filming site, an Asian man looked in the direction Song Xiao had left in with a profound gaze.
“Bernard Shaw, what’re you looking at?” The director walked over with a smile and followed his gaze as he slung an arm around the man’s shoulders.
The man called Bernard Shaw shook his head before shaking off the bearded director. “Saw a cute kid.”
Back in the hotel, Cao Gonggong prepared hot water for the emperor to carry the empress in for a bath.
As a result, Yu Tang stripped Song Xiao naked and also got into the bath himself.
Cao Gonggong stood helplessly on the side with a towel. His intention was to let the empress soak in the bath, not for the emperor to follow him in. After following the emperor for so many years, however, Cao Gonggong naturally wouldn’t say any unnecessary words. “The headache from riding a roller coaster can be hard to bear. The empress has to sweat the cold air out.”
“Zhen knows.” Yu Tang waved his hand, indicating that Cao Gonggong could leave.
Just as the bathroom door closed, he heard Song Xiao cry out.
“Wu, it hurts…”
“Don’t worry, I won’t move.” Yu Tang’s sticky voice came from the bathroom. Song Xiao’s hand was pressed to the frosted gla.s.s wall as he braced himself before it slowly slid down.
The sound of gurgling water didn’t stop as it became quicker and louder. In the room, Cao Gonggong expressionlessly boiled tea, ironed the clothes, made the bed…
The sounds from the bathtub finally stopped when Cao Gonggong was busy finishing everything. As an excellent butler, he immediately took a large towel and waited at the bathroom door. His Majesty the emperor carried out Song Xiao, who was pink all over, and stuffed him under the covers. Seeing the pink, soft and warm empress, he couldn’t help giving him another kiss.
“If you sweat now, you won’t fall sick,” Yu Tang said very seriously.
Song Xiao glared at him – he had never heard of this method of sweating it out.
Yu Tang happily got under the covers to seize Song Xiao and hug him.
Cao Gonggong felt a little blinded. In the past, the emperor had also stuck to the empress, but it wasn’t to the point that he wouldn’t let go for a minute. Now, great, the emperor hated that he couldn’t tie the empress to his body.
“Your Majesty, do you intend to return to school tonight?” The elite butler took out a tablet and inquired about his master’s itinerary. As for his master turning into a medicated plaster, that wasn’t something a eunuch could meddle in.
“En.” Yu Tang held the sleepy Song Xiao and played with the hand in his grip. The slender fingers that were warm from steam were suffused a healthy pink, and one couldn’t help but want to take a bite.
Cao Gonggong quickly booked two tickets. “Laonu will request the family head’s permission to act as Your Majesty’s butler.”
“No.” Yu Tang vetoed Cao Gonggong’s proposal. Things would be much easier with Cao Gonggong by his side, but requesting for Cao Gonggong, who had the deep trust of the family head, when Yu Tang still didn’t have authority within the Yu family now, would be somewhat of a waste of resources. “You’ll stay by grandfather’s side.”
Butler Cao promptly understood, and lowered his head in a.s.sent, though he looked at the emperor with some reluctance. He then looked at the fluffy empress in the emperor’s embrace.
Song Xiao’s hair had been blow-dried, and because it was relatively finer and softer, it was easy for Song Xiao to get bedhead after it was dry. After Yu Tang tousled it, his messy hair stuck out all over and looked fluffy.
“About the bodyguard training, what did you find?” Yu Tang relaxed against the headboard and pulled up the blankets to wrap them around Song Xiao. He shoved his hand in as well, then began to feel around naughtily.
“Wu…” Half-conscious, Song Xiao pinched Yu Tang’s hand and shifted away.
“It isn’t safe nowadays. Laonu believes that if the emperor wishes to have Anyi learn, it would still be better to employ some bodyguards from the bodyguard group first.” Cao Gonggong was a little worried. Previously, the emperor had mentioned wanting to send Anyi to learn modern weapons and skills, but the rumoured training camp would take half a year.
Dugu An was Great Yu’s best secret guard, and he was excellent in every aspect. It was just that he had never come into contact with modern weapons and skills. Against modern firearms, even top martial arts were useless. Dugu An still had to go and study.
However, the Yu family wasn’t an ordinary business family. Now that Yu Tang had gained the family head’s favour, his situation was extremely dangerous. Once Anyi went to study, someone else had to protect Yu Tang.
“Who’s managing the bodyguard group now?” Yu Tang lowered his eyes in consideration, but the hand under the covers didn’t pause as it slowly caressed a certain soft area.
“Many changes have occurred in the bodyguard group recently. Something happened to the previous chief. Laonu will notify you once the new chief takes office.”
The short weekend pa.s.sed just like that, and three university students rushed back to campus that night. The procedure to attend as a day student would be completed by tomorrow, so Yu Tang brought Song Xiao directly back to his residence.
This villa wasn’t big at all; it only had two floors and looked quite cosy. The two servants were aunties in their forties, and they didn’t chatter much.
“Do we need to arrange a guest room?” the servant asked with a smile.
“No need, he’s staying with me. Bring over a cup of warm milk.” Yu Tang pulled the still yawning Song Xiao upstairs.
Right at that moment, Song Xiao’s roommate called. “Song Xiao, aren’t you coming back tonight?”
