Ye Shaoyang leaned on the chair and pondered and said, “We shall discuss when we return to your house . ”

Then, he called Xie Yuqing and asked if she is free; he would like to meet her at Zhuang Yuning’s house to discuss a few matters . Xie Yuqing replied okay at once .

When the three of them were back at Zhuang Yuning’s villa, Zhuang Yuning gestured for them to rest at the couch while she went to the kitchen and made them tea .

When Ye Shaoyang raised his teacup near to his lips, he suddenly paused, puzzled .

“What happened? Zhuang Yuning sensed his odd behavior and hurriedly asked .

Ye Shaoyang put the teacup back on the table and pointed at the teacup, “Look what's inside . ”

Zhuang Yuning and Xiao Ma stepped up and stared into the cup .

“I can only see some tea leaves . Nothing else . There, that tea leaf looks like a snake, don't tell me it is something related to spirits? “

He looked back at the tea again and the shadow suddenly flew toward the window .

“Too late,” Ye Shaoyang smirked as he cast a copper coin to that corner .

The shadow cried; a few scarlet red feathers appeared and floated in thin air . Ye Shaoyang stepped up and tossed another copper coin in another direction . Again, another few feathers appeared and drifted down . After a few more times, he turned around and kept throwing copper coins in different directions, as if he was cornering something that did not exist .

“O' mighty Heaven and Earth, with the power of Yin Yang, destroy!” Ye Shaoyang initiated a hand seal and pointed in one direction . Raising his arm, a blood red creature appeared caught in his palm, struggling and flapping its wings as it shrieked .

It was a bird with bat’s wings, but it looked like an owl from its upper body . Its ferocious look stunned Xiao Ma and Zhuang Yuning .

Ye Shaoyang embedded the bird in between his two palms and recited, “Bring the Samadhi Heavenly Fire and burn this creature into ashes!”

Sky blue fire enclosed the bird at once . Seconds later, the blood red feathers were burned into ashes . Jets of blood oozed out and the body gradually wrinkled and shrunk . It shrieked relentlessly until Zhuang Yuning could not bear its high-pitched cry and covered her ears .

The struggles got weaker and weaker . Half a minute later, the bird was on its deathbed . Suddenly, its beak opened, and a black shadow shot out . The bird jerked and shrunk into a cherry-sized charcoal .

The black shadow attacked Ye Shaoyang right after it left the beak . He had no time to withdraw his hands for defense . In a moment of desperation, he bit his tongue tip and spat on the shadow . It roared and rolled to one corner, curling up and shivering .

With a gentle rub, the cherry sized charcoal turned into ashes . Ye Shaoyang cleaned his hands and the ashes dropped but disappeared before they touched the ground .

Ye Shaoyang heaved a sigh of relief . Pointing at the curled up shadow in the corner, he said, “I have damaged its spirit power . It can’t attack for now . Let’s check it out . ”

Knowing that the shadow would not attack, Xiao Ma grew bold and sped toward it . Zhuang Yuning hesitated for a moment before she decided to follow him . Both of them studied the shadow:

It was a monkey-like creature covered in black fur . In the contrast, it had a snout with teeth criss-crossing each other . A pair of ping-pong sized eyes protruded from its eye sockets . The eyes look like a house fly’s or a dragonfly’s compound eyes at first sight .

From the eyes, Xiao Ma and Zhuang Yuning could feel that the creature was terrifying when it looked at Ye Shaoyang .

“What is this? And what was that bird?” Xiao Ma asked in astonishment .

Ye Shaoyang opened his palm and a black origami crane laid in his palm, “This was the bird . ”

“An origami crane?” Xiao Ma felt that this was unbelievable .

“Yup, an origami crane,” Ye Shaoyang raised his head and glanced at the monkey-like creature, “Stay still . ” After he spoke, he looked back at the origami crane, unfolded it, and took out three glowing, scarlet red feathers .
