Paranoia : Split Self 13 Deception

"You know, Michael, every time you have an intense emotional fluctuation, I was awoken up just like if I were to kick you off the bed at 2 a.m. and then every time you are about to fall asleep, I pour an ice cold water to you, would you like to feel that." Sui said before circling around me with a mean face.

"Alright I am sorry but I can't help it alright." I said as i drank the still hot coffee that slightly burnt my tongue.

"Apology accepted but I am not going to let you sleep tonight, hehehe…" Sui said with a weird laugh.

"Alright Sui that joke is getting old." I ended my sentence remembering the night when Sui said that and he got excited before he is pestered by Sui all night discussing things that excite me, not s.e.xually but like when the season 2 of no game no life will come out, before continuing "Sui, let's do my coding a.s.signment."

I then took out my laptop before turning it on and while I was tapping the code at Dev c++, my cousin that is sitting beside my brother leaned closer to him and whispered "Hey, Marvin does your brother always do that?"

"Yeah, don't worry about that, there was even one time he suddenly mumble about how hentai is good, how he is going to make a novel where he will use the pokemon power to hypnotise his crush to love him." My brother whispered, maybe they didn't notice that but I paused in my typing because I freaking heard all the words they said and Sui that was just pointing out a mistake in my coding was holding her laughter before bursting out.

I just lowered my head and turned off the laptop before stuffing it into my bag and I went back to read my novels, not before finishing my coffee and refiling it.

I washed away my embarra.s.sment by focusing my mind on the novel while Sui mumbled something I can't hear before I notice it another hour pa.s.sed and it's now 10 p.m.

My cousin who is around the same age as me said goodbye, one to another while I am still immersed in my novel.

When I broke out from my immersion because I smell some bad smell, Sui Is already gone and all left is old mans smoking some cigarette, I took a few seconds to process this information before I shout out instinctively "NANI!?" thankfully my habit of not speaking too loud do me good this time because my shout is not to loud and the old mans is too busy gambling or smoking to notice them.

I blankly looked at this scene before I called my mom, "t.i.t…t.i.t..t.i.t.- h.e.l.lo, mom, you said there will be some people staying here with me too right, you said there will be a lot of others too right, you said there will be other young man like me right, you said there will be some mat for me to sleep right." I spit out all my confusion and complain in one go.

"Ah, is there no other young man there?" my mom asked surprised.

"Nope." I answered in deadpan voice.

"There Is at least a lot of people there too right." I looked over to the group of people cl.u.s.tering, playing poker or something. "- also there is a mat there, I remember it should be in the corner of the room." I looked at the mat underneath those gamblers with some ashes there. "- don't worry, you can do it!"

I didn't say anything for a second before I said "Mom, can I go back home with Gojek." Again, I said in deadpan voice.

"No! it's to dangerous it's almost 12 p.m. already!" she said insisting me to stay here.

Then without another word I clicked the red b.u.t.ton on the phone's screen, I don't really know how other people interact with their parents in IRL but I know that the one in film is very, very rare but this is kind of normal with me and mom.

I stood up silently, taking the chair, phone, and power bank with me before I walked outside to the open s.p.a.ce before I sat under a tree with a lamp near it, thus I spend the entire night and morning sitting there slapping mosquito, reading novels, and looking at cats rummaging trough the pile of trash with some leftover food there.

In the 5 a.m. I called my mom again complaining about how I can't even catch a blink of sleep the whole night because those old mans, well they are actually middle aged but whatever, gambled and smoked the entire night, they have some kind of shift you know, a group sleep then another group woke up playing and smoking again, repeat. "Mom, when will we burry grandpa again."

"Umm…um… at 10 a.m., you should try to sleep a little." it was obvious she is still sleepy answering the phone so I ended it.

I looked at the old mans that is still smoking before I went to the rightmost side of the room before turning on the fan there, directing it at me. Even so the smoke still lingers in the air but I just sighed and sat down on a chair before placing my bag on the table before laying my head down and closing my eyes.

Honestly, they should be more consecrating of a child he-.

Huh…what happened I opened my eyes and felt the droll leaking out from my mouth before looking ahead.

I saw that the sun was already shining and the old mans was all asleep, then In the next moment I plopped down again to my sleep.

The next time I woke up, I determine my self to drink a cup of coffee then several minutes after I finish my cup of coffee, a van come in. coming down from it is the family member from the current wif- wrong widow along with my aunt from Hong Kong.

Then after they come down, the older people. The eldest son, the widow, the aunt come to me rubbing my head while saying "What a good boy, you guarded grandpa the whole night."

I immediately retorted telling the truth "Even though I just sit around."

"Yes, even though you just sit around you are still here." The widow said before giving me two pack of meal packed in Styrofoam.

I ate those two meals then with a full stomach I went back to my sleeping spot, sitting on the chair I laid my head on my bag and I fell asleep.

The third time I woke up, I woke up hearing the old priest voices. I looked up and I saw that in the right side of the room where the grandpa is. There is the priest holding a mic there and the family sitting there.
