Lance King knew that the man wanted to know the truth but how could he say that he locked up his daughter and then the woman had escaped and then he lost tracks where she could have gone to.
"I'm telling the...." before the old man could complete his sentence, Lyndon played a recording of their conversation.
"I'm in country X... Your grandfather detained me and could not get out. Help me please..." the voice of a woman sounded so helpless on the recording.
Lance King stared at the man across him with diluted eyes. He could not believe what he had just heard.
It was Rodora's voice. He could not get wrong with it.
Lyndon stopped the recording as he had known that his mother is in a safe place. But he wanted to ensure her safety first.
"No... she's not with me anymore... She escaped... She escaped... and I don't know where she's at!!" Lance King scared his wits off. He doesn't care about his appearance anymore as long as he could only stay alive.
"I know..." Lyndon coldly said. It served as a bucket of cold water to Lance King. He could not believe that he was played like that by his own grand son.
"Then... What do you want?" Lance asked nervously.
"I want to know about Kyler..."
"What.... about him?"
"What did you tell him about that incident?" Lyndon knew that the problem lies in his environment and not the person he had been dealing with.
"Nothing... I just said him to ask you about it..." he immediately washed hands.
"Then why? Why did my brother was so angry with me?" Lyndon could not help but ask the old man about it. He shot his brother to fake his death and in order to tell the men that had been pursuing him. He knew that behind his action was wrong but it left him with no other choice. He was wrong but he knew that Leo was not that narrow-minded not to see his intention but now, he felt that his brother had a deep hatred with him.
Lance King did not know how his words affected and etched on Leo's mind back then. He was the one who wielded the cold truth in him.
His family had abandoned him and threw him aside. This was his words back then. He told them to him because he wanted a son and a successor.
A cold and ruthless person which Leo had become after a long time. He never thought that his brother chose to be the devil just to get him out from danger. He never thought that all this time, Lyndon had been doing things for his good and for him alone.
He will never understand the unending nightmares of him when he shot him. The shot that came from his trembling hands was fired in order for him to live a life which was more peaceful than he could ever have.
He had to die for him to live.
But life is full of surprises.
Lyndon never thought that his own brother will hate him to the core after what he did. He never thought how wrong he had done. He never thought that one day, he will face his brother like this and not some warm reunion.
Right now, all he wanted to do was to correct it and mend his broken heart.
To tell him that his family never left him and to tell him that he was sorry about it.
Reality, it will never gonna happen. Kyler never wanted to do anything with him anymore. He wanted a life that they were not a part of it.
Lance King looked at his grandson with cold eyes. He was the one who wreck his home. He was the one who portrayed Albert as a ruthless and merciless man.
He was the one who had driven their family to a corner. All for the sake of money and power.
The two men went silent for how many minutes as they were occuppied with each other's thoughts.
After awhile, they calm themselves and looked each other in eye to eye.
