Chapter 46: The White Family
Alice snorted at the lonely Locke for a last time before running over to greet her fourth brother.
“Ignore them, just follow me…”Jacques was in charge of Locke’s affairs, and as such, he gestured for Locke to follow him.
Locke only found out while talking along the way.
They were in the exclusive area of the Diamond Cla.s.s.
Other than the teaching and training grounds, there were hospitals, entertainment and lifestyle shops, restaurants, and many other facilities!
‘As expected! Beastmasters are the best profession in this world!’
Since there were not many students in the Diamond Cla.s.s, they had plenty of real estate to enjoy themselves with.
There was just one issue…
Locke did not expect to be given that huge of a real estate!
After several twists and turns, Jacques had brought Locke to a small house at the edge of the area.
Upon entering the house, Locke noticed that it was filled with plenty of high-end decorations and exquisite daily necessities. It was much to his liking.
In a sense, it contained everything that he needed.
“This small house is close to 200 square meters in area. I believe that it’s more than enough for you…” With that, Jacques then grabbed a seat on the sofa and lit a cigarette. “Tough luck, son… This is the worst house in the diamond area, but there’s nothing we can do about it. The good ones have all been reserved by the n.o.bles. You’d just have make do with it…”
‘Make do with it?’ Locke mentally exclaimed as he looked at the top-grade Daemon meat in the fridge, as well as the high-end beverages and ice creams. He was already very satisfied with his house!
‘What else can they even provide?’
Locke was not at fault, however.
Be it in his life before or after his transmigration, he was a child of an ordinary family.
It was only until the System’s appearance did Locke’s fate began to change. As such, he was oblivious to the lives of the n.o.bles and how they enjoyed themselves.
Regardless, Locke brushed it off quickly. He took two ice creams and walked to the sofa.
“Here, one for you.”
“Thank you.” Jacques was fond of Locke. Compared to the children of the n.o.bles, Locke was neither pretentious nor stuck up.
‘He’s a good kid!’
“Oh right, there are some things that I should inform you of…”Jacques put out his cigarette, tore apart the ice cream’s wrapper, and said, “Alice is the youngest child of the White family. She has been doted on since she was young. She has all the habits of a n.o.ble and she’s used to being overbearing. To be honest, I don’t like her either…”
“However, you shouldn’t provoke her. After all, her fourth brother is currently studying in the Diamond Area of the Academy, and he has many lackeys under his wing. You should know where I’m going with this, right…”
“Most importantly, the Silver District of the academy is completely funded by the White Family. As a result, even the higher-ups would need to kowtow to the White Family kids…”
“Darn… the entire Silver District? They really are filthy rich…”Locke sounded envious, but in reality, his face was full of disdain.
Since the academy was an educational inst.i.tution, they should treat students equally. If they were to allow others to get what they wanted just because of a few donations…
What was the difference between them and a chamber of Commerce?
“Alright! I believe that you wouldn’t mention this to anyone. So, for now, just take a good rest and understand the structure of the academy. You have a copy of the map in your room. Cla.s.s starts at 8.30 tomorrow morning. Don’t be late.”
With that, Jacque stood up to leave.
“Instructor, will you be teaching me in the future?”
“Hahaha! You think too highly of me. At my level of strength, I can only teach the students of the Silver Cla.s.s at most.”
Locke felt that this Jacque’s strength was around Trista’s.
He probably had a Stage 4 Battle Beast as well.
If he was only qualified to teach the Silver Cla.s.s with that level of strength, Locke shuddered at the thought of the Diamond Cla.s.s instructors’ strength.
At the same time, in Alice’s two-story luxury mansion.
Looking at the students who were sweating profusely as they moved around Alice’s luggage…
Adrian was at ease. In his opinion, they were nothing more than dogs trying to climb up the social ladder.
Had Adrian not taken them under his wing, they might end up hating him instead.
Meanwhile, Alice described her experience in the a.s.sessment in full detail.
After learning about Locke’s strength, Adrian said with a mocking smile, “Hehe… So, he’s only beaten a lowly Level 6, Stage 2 Netherfiend Tiger? That’s not a big deal.”
However, his tone suddenly took a sharp turn. “But! How dare he steal a White Family member’s limelight and make my sister unhappy! This is an unforgiveable act!”
Noticing that her brother was willing to stand up for her, Alice exaggerated the details, and it made Adrian even more furious.
SLAM!
He slammed the table and roared, “All of you! Get your *sses over here!”
As if they had heard an imperial edict, the lackeys quickly stopped what they were doing and rushed to Adrian’s side like dogs.
“If I remember correctly, all of your Battle Beasts should be at Level 8, Stage 2, right?”
The four of them nodded repeatedly.
“Alright! In that case, I’ll have to trouble all of you to go and a certain little junior tonight. Let him know that some people are not to be trifled with. Let him know that his survival depends on these people’s whims…”
Adrian’s words were laced with indescribable arrogance.
However, the White Family had the right to be that arrogant!
Although they were not top n.o.bles, they still had considerable influence in many regions.
Furthermore, the fourth son of the family, Adrian, was one of the undisputed tyrants in the academy.
As such, this was not his first time carrying out “orientation” on newcomers. Upon hearing those words, a smirk immediately appeared on the lackeys’ faces.
By evening, Locke had already memorized the structure of the academy. With that settled, he then opened the wardrobe and changed into a brand new uniform.
Looking at his slender figure in the mirror, he was very satisfied.
‘Top-tier universities are really a cut above the rest!’
Not only was the uniform stylish, even the materials used were top-notch!
Just the pants alone was already made from the leather of a Stage 3 Daemon, the Flying Snow Leopard.
It was a material that was warm in winter and cool in summer.
He decided to go to a restaurant in the Gold District for dinner.
He heard that the chef there was a master in preparing Daemon meat dishes.
Although the price was on the pricier end, Locke was no longer poor, and as such, he was allowed to splurge on an expensive meal every occasionally.
In less than ten minutes, Locke had reached the restaurant.
The moment he entered, he caused an uproar.
Everyone present was from the Gold Cla.s.s.
It was obvious from their gold-accented uniforms.
In contrast, Locke’s uniform was accented with shiny silver, and it was indicative of his ident.i.ty.
“Wow! He’s from the Diamond District!”
“That outfit is so cool, and he’s not bad looking too…”
“Why are you just sitting there? Hurry up and treat him to a meal! If you manage to curry favor with him, your future will be secured…”
The people from the Gold Cla.s.s looked at Locke enviously and started to gossip.
“Sir! It’s my honor to serve you!” When he heard that someone from the Diamond Cla.s.s had come over, the head chef who was busy in the kitchen immediately ran out to greet him.
