"It's me, Yee Len." A voice replied on the other side of the door.
"Come in." Replied the man sitting on the chair.
Yee Len walked in with a worried expression before bowing down to greet the man, "My Lord, there was news from home that Her Highness and Chue Yi them haven't got back to the palace as planned. They were supposed to be home two days ago. Worried, I dispatched some people to investigate."
The man's pupil dilated while his face turned pale. No wonder he felt restless since a few days ago and his dear wife keeps disturbing his mind. He thought he just missed her too much constantly having gone away too often. The news just confirmed his restlessness. Afraid that they met something bad, the man got up and ordered, "Prepared to go home for a few days."
Yee Len nodded, "Yes sir. Preparation will be done soon."
A few minutes later, noise of horses' throttled was heard outside. The man sitting inside the tent walked out and saw Yee Len hauling two horses. "My Lord, these are two fastest horses."
"Mm.." The man in black clothes nodded before hopping onto one of the horses. "Relayed message to commander Vun. He's in charge until I get back." Before patting the horse and galloped away.
Yee Len relayed the message to Commander Vun and took off after His Lord. The master and subordinate traveled two and a half days straight without stopping before they reached the Palace.
When the man arrived, his dear wife and Chue Yi still haven't gotten back yet. With his wife nowhere to be found crushed his heart, coming home doesn't feel the same way. Since when has he grew so accustomed to coming home seeing her busy, but always waiting for him with a smile? How could he expect her to always be waiting for him when he's never had to wait for her like how she waited for him? As much as he doesn't want to think of the worse, his gut told him something bad probably happened. The man stood frozen in the yard about to lose his sanity.
This is so unlike Chue Yi who constantly updated him every 2-3 days. It has been about a week since he last heard from Chue Yi. A fierce piercing glint flashed through his eyes before he rushed out the gate planning to go to the main palace but a group of several people approached him. They were the investigator group that Yee Len dispatched to track down the whereabouts of Chue Yi and his dear wife.
The leader of the investigator group bowed to their Prince, "Excuse me Lord Mua Kong. We've tracked down the trails and gathered information from people. What we found was that several nights ago, an inn where it was speculated that Her Highness stayed at was burned down. Many corpses where found but we were unable to identify the corpses due to its burnt condition, although we found a hairpin that may have belonged to Her Highness and a sword that without a doubt belonged to Chue Yi."
The moment the leader finished his report, intense anger hit the core of Mua Kong heart. He unconsciously swung his sword out of rage and cut down one side of the front gate wall. The swing was so fierce and fast, it created whip of energy that slashed the closest side to his sword. Very luckily, the investigators, all were in kneeling position and they were in front of him. If they were slightly on the side of where the energy whip hit, they would have been cut into two halves straight across their waist. All the people sent to investigate the case fell flat on the ground on their knees trembled in fear. "Please have mercy your Lordship. We failed you."
Mua Kong clenched his fist and jaw before commanding in an angry low piercing tone, "Take me to the inn." His eyes lost all emotions.
"Yes!" The investigator group replied almost in unison.
Having serve his Lord for all these years, Yee Len has never seen his Lord lost this much self control before. What is he to do if something bad actually happened to Her Highness? Yee Len started to feel worried and prayed silently in his heart for Her Highness to be okayed.
