Chapter 1278 Conclusion
The moment Dhui joined the battle, the progress of the fight increased rapidly.
Dhui created clones made of shadow and encircled him. Xishui spun his body and created a tornado that blew away those clones. Dhui punched the tornado to neutralize it before throwing another punch at Xishui.
Xishui kicked that punch to stop it, but it left him vulnerable. Noel took advantage of the gap and slashed him from behind.
Xishui focused on his defense and tilted his body, but the wound was still quite deep.
Xishui skillfully avoided another punch from Dhui and even kicked Noel in the process, blowing him away.
Dhui took this opportunity to punch Xishui from the side.
Even if Xishui could deal some damage to them, due to being surrounded by two people, Xishui couldn't get any advantage.
In fact, both Dhui and Noel came to a tacit understanding that they should finish this battle as quickly as possible. Hence, the first thing they did was to abandon most of their defense and go for the kill.
When Dhui attacked and distracted Xishui, Noel would come to deal a severe injury and vice versa.
Even with Xishui's power, he couldn't do anything against these two.
At the crucial moment, Xishui managed to land a direct hit on Dhui's arm, dislocating it. However, Noel struck him on the side and slit open his stomach.
Xishui spat a mouthful of blood. He wanted to struggle, but it was useless. Noel stopped him with the Divine Slash, followed by Frozen World, allowing Dhui to actually punch the open wound and let the blood spurt like a fountain.
Noel and Dhui didn't want to hear Xishui's voice, let alone him begging for his life. In fact, Xishui knew that he had screwed up the moment Dhui entered the picture. He was wrong in calculating the time of the fight.
In other words, Noel had just ruined his plan. And without him, his clan would definitely be destroyed by Dhui. No one was strong enough to stop him anymore.
That was why Dhui had just accepted his fate. Even if he could escape, nothing could be saved, including his life. Then again, Noel and Dhui kept the formation close, preventing him from escaping.
In the end, he died after being struck by Noel from the shoulder all the way down to his thigh and Dhui's punch on the skull.
No one bothered to fight one versus one for pride whatsoever. They knew that the battle had to end as quickly as possible, even if it meant being anticlimactic. And that was how the expedition ended.
After killing Xishui, his body was hidden from the public's view so that it wouldn't cause further bloodshed and allowed Dhui to recover first before destroying the opposite clan.
Of course, Noel would get all the cores from the heavenly disasters, which, to his surprise, managed to fill up the energy he required for reaching the spirit king.
Unfortunately, he couldn't become a spirit king yet. He had to find his new path to become a king, just like how he found his transcendent path.
Hence, Noel and Anna chose to remain inside the clan to recuperate from their injuries.
The admiral ordered his subordinates to sweep in, cleaning up the battlefield.
Of course, he didn't let the opportunity to earn even more go. He immediately struck a deal, and with Noel's help, they looked much more favorable in Dhui's eyes.
They thought they would be busy hunting the demons, but it turned out they had a free three weeks to spend however they liked on this island.
Aside from trade, the admiral ended up exploring the island through Dhui's connection.
Dhui actually let the admiral follow him as he destroyed the opposition, showing him that if he wanted to go to this island, he would have to meet his iron fist.
Nevertheless, there were a lot of benefits coming to this island.
Finally, time pa.s.sed by.
Three weeks had pa.s.sed. Exactly one month upon their arrival, they gathered once again in the harbor, this time accompanied by a small elite force from the Ui clan as well as a few people who became their friends along the way.
Of course, Rui would be following them back to the mainland.
Before leaving, there was one important meeting he needed to attend. It wasn't with Dhui. Instead, the diva requested his presence to report her finding.
"How is it? The island is big?" Noel asked.
"Yes. It is big, but not too big. There are at least 5 spirit transcendences on this island, including the two who are here. Then again, one of them has died, so there are only three left after we return.
"The size of this island doesn't exceed the Beast Kingdom. If I have to guess, it's only a third of our size. Still, even though there aren't a lot of humans on this island, the average strength is higher."
Noel thought for a moment. "I see. That's interesting. Are you going to come back to this place in the future?"
"Who knows? For the time being, I have marked everything, including the direction. If I want to go, no one will be able to stop me."
"Is that so?" Noel nodded. "Well, I will be taking care of a few things first. I have gotten back my flame, so I should be able to help a few beast kings to gain their spirits. Just pa.s.s this message to the council. As for the time, I will tell Melissa later. She should be contacting you guys, right?"
"Yes. I understand. They will definitely be overjoyed to know that they will be able to get spirits. Still, the incoming battle will be much more ma.s.sive."
"Yeah. Nevertheless, we have three out of five divine artifacts. Layla has one while the demons possess one divine artifact. This is going to be hard, but I don't plan to lose." Noel swore that he needed to find his king path soon, fully aware that the situation was much harder than he could imagine.
He was also curious what kind of moves the royal family or the demons had made against his territory in his absence.
While looking at the bright sky, Noel said with a smile, "It's time to go back."
