Honestly I love how close Fu Xiaoke and Xu Song are becoming so so much. This part was so sweet ❤ Also I know that I promised you guys a full chapter but then I actually looked at the second chapter and it was like 12 pages on google docs and there is no way I am going to go through all of that when I am so braindead from the last of my finals today, so here you guys are with half of the chapter~

In My Lifetime, I Will Only Gamble on You Chapter 2 Part 1

Inside the dorm, no matter how hard they tried, the three beauties couldn't seem to figure out what kind of love luck Fu Xiaoke had. No matter how hard they racked their brains they couldn't comprehend how Fu Xiaoke, a girl who wasn't that beautiful, could attract the most handsome guy on campus, Xu Song.

Fu Xiaoke also couldn't seem to understand what was going on. Even now, she was fearful and didn't dare believe she had actually talked to Xu Song. From beginning to end, she felt that she had dreamt a long daydream.

Ever since entering college, she had always focused on her studies. When she wasn't studying she would go to the library and read. She didn't like to go shopping, she didn't like karaoke, she didn't like buying makeup. Everyday she went out with a plain face, and was thus nicknamed the "country b.u.mpkin".

Numerous students have also stated that in the three years they have been at this college, they have never seen Fu Xiaoke wear a skirt.

To this, Fu Xiaoke would always smile, rub her nose and say, "My legs aren't that good looking. I'm afraid I would scare everyone away!"

And that's all she was, a humble tomboy. What was it that Xu Song saw in her?

No one seemed to understand.

However, these questions didn't seem to affect how Xu Song treated Fu Xiaoke as he continued to enthusiastically take the initiative to get closer to her.

Whether it was independent study time or they had a cla.s.s, he would openly move from the seat behind to sit in the chair next to Fu Xiaoke. Within the time span of one night, Fu Xiaoke became the envy of every girl in the school.

As they gradually became closer, Fu Xiaoke no longer stumbled on her words when speaking to Xu Song.

She had read plenty of books so her knowledge was very vast. She wasn't usually  very talkative, but that's only because she disliked talking to people she wasn't close with. Thus, ever since she eliminated the awkwardness between her and Xu Song, she was able to talk with ease when around him.

She told him many historical stories, many other cla.s.sic stories about how different things came about, and also many quirky yet interesting stories. And within those stories, she often mixed in her own unique insights and opinions, so Xu Song would often become entranced by her stories.

She didn't seem to feel anything; but for him, he had just started to become attracted to her.

Summer came fast and fierce, silently dragging people into the hot season.

The independent study cla.s.sroom soon turned hot and suffocating to the point where Fu Xiaoke began to repeatedly fan herself with her books.

Beside her, she suddenly felt Xu Song poke her.

She turned around, and saw him looking at her with one eyebrow arched, bearing a sly smile.

“It's hot isn't it? Call me Big Brother Xu once, and I'll take you out to eat ice cream!”

Fu Xiaoke turned red immediately, as she feigned her anger coquettishly and rolled his eyes at him. “Stop it, someone might hear you!”

Xu Song couldn't help but feel happy and giddy inside at the sight of her acting shy and embarra.s.sed. He grabbed her wrist and stood up, walking towards the door to go out of the cla.s.sroom.

"I would actually like for them to hear me!"

After hearing that, all Fu Xiaoke wanted to do right then was bury her head, as she put all her strength into drooping her head and keeping up with him.

But, just as he was about to walk out the door, he suddenly stopped.

“What's wrong? ……Ahh!”

He suddenly grabbed her shoulders, pushing her against the wall outside of the cla.s.sroom.

He lowered his head, and forced her to get close. With that low, enchanting and charming voice, he said, "You haven't called me Big Brother Xu yet!"

Fu Xiaoke felt her ears go hot and red.

A few cla.s.smates happened to see them in this position as they pa.s.sed by. Amazed, their footsteps  gradually got slower, their eyes curiously sneaking peeks.

Fu Xiaoke became shy, her cheeks turning pink.

Xu Song stood there like a tower nailed to the ground. When she tried to push him off, her push had little to no effect on him.

"Stop acting like this! Hurry up and let go of me! Someone's going to see us!" She anxiously said.

However, he looked calm and relaxed as he laughed: "All you have to do is call me Big Brother Xu once and I'll let go of you!"

Fu Xiaoke didn't know what to do. Anxiously and with a red face, she softly called, "Big Brother Xu…"

“What? I didn't hear you clearly! Shout it again, a bit louder this time!”

Fu Xiaoke felt as if she was going to cry, as she closed her eyes and shouted loudly: "Big Brother Xu!"

Xu Song chuckled to himself, pulling her towards his chest.

Fu Xiaoke was completely stunned.

Xu Song embraced her, as they walked to get cold drinks under everyone's gaze.

That night, Fu Xiaoke full of curiosity, questioned everyone: "So, what are your guy's opinion on the relationship between Xu Song and I?"

After hearing this question, Ning Zhixin immediately stood up and wacked her in the head, "Fool! Everyone in the school knows that you've been claimed by Xu Song! You're already Xu Song's girlfriend, what else do you want?! You don't have to be so ruthless when you're provoking other people!"

In the dark, Fu Xiaoke felt her grievances increase more and more. "But, he hasn't called me his girlfriend yet, and he also hasn't said he's liked me or anything like that…..ahhh! Why did you hit me Boss!"

She hadn't finished what she was saying before Boss threw a pillow into her face.

“Fool! That person isn't using such a shallow declaration of just saying that he likes you; he's actually doing things for you! Can't you just be content?!”

Old Second from the sideline immediately piped in, 'That's right! Love from a common person is often just words, but a great person shows this love in action! Fourth Fool, you better get on with it and stop with your nonsensical thinking. Let him show you how to put love in action!"

……Fu Xiaoke choked on her own saliva.

*TLC Note: Also just thought I would make a note, but Boss, Old Second, Old Third, and Fourth Fool are just what the dormmates call each other. I’m guessing it’s in terms of seniority with boss being the oldest. And of course, Fu Xiaoke gets the special nickname of Fourth Fool because she’s adorable lol.
