Back on the battle with the elf, Clay was having a different kind of pleasure in fighting this elf woman. She was so battle oriented that every spell she had was all enchanted into the weapon she was wielding. The weapon kept changing colors with every slash and it was a really great sight to watch.
Clay always deflected those strikes and threw in his own to counterattack. It was a flurry of back and forths between speed and technique. Clay trying to land a punch while deflecting slashes and stabs. This exchange has already gone for more than 20 minutes without an end in sight. The techniques that the elf woman threw were all very sudden and changing in fast intervals.
Ting! Ting! Ting!
Sometimes Clay would not be able to deflect some strikes and he would get scratched by the blades, but this just tickled his skin's senses and ignored it. On the other hand, the elf woman was quite frustrated as her attacks have landed but could not give him enough damage, heck; she knew that she hasn't dealt any damage to him at all from the start. All she is sure of is that she was already growing tired and her breath has slowly quickened. However, if she stopped her flurry, it will mean her doom, so she had to keep it up and find an opportunity to rest.
Suddenly…
"[(Stop)]" Clay made a gesture with his hands and told the elf woman to stop moving.
"[(I was having fun until now, but if this is all you have to show me then I am quite disappointed. I want you to totally go all out, regardless of what happens, because if you get careless you could die in one attack of mine. So release all that you have to fight me.)]" Clay said, even though it was just a ruse to let her take a rest, she still took that as insulting and couldn't take that lying down.
Without any warning, her skin turned red and her eyes became very savage-looking. Anyone who'd look at her now would probably lose all adoration of her. She had become as if a monster.
"[(So this is the rumored, Ting! However, that strike still could not penetrate Clay's skin. It was such a surprise that even in her berserk state, the elf woman showed a reaction of being surprised. That moment of surprise actually made her open up her guard for but a split second and BOOM! That single sound resounded to the audience, and to her; even more so. She was. .h.i.t in the torso with a fist that aimed towards her chin. Because of her position, she was not able to properly stand up and was therefore hit in her torso instead of her chin. It might have been luck, or Clay's doing, but this showed that Clay really was still just playing around. The audience now definitely knew this. [If we fight with that human, I don't think we'll be able to land a hit.] A different dragonkin predicted. [Yes, I think so as well.] Another one agreed. [What are you all talking about you cowardly traitors?! We are dragonkin! That human must have used some dubious means to actually fight like that or all of those he has fought so far are far too weak! No matter what, I don't believe that a human can be that strong!] It was a muscle-bound dragonkin, a prideful warrior, who looked bulky enough to be mistaken as strong, scolding the others. [If you think that those he faced were weak, what do you think of our brother who died just now then? Was he weak, could you have defeated him in your lifetime? Dream on sucker.] Now the dragonkin had started to divide among themselves from the rational to the fanatical factions. Thud! The elf woman's back hit the ground and silence covered the arena. Even though the others inside the ring were fighting just now, they were actually just trying to watch the fight between Clay and the elf woman as well. When she got hit and landed on the ground, the feeling of seeing a strong warrior go down still tickled their hearts. They wanted to see if she would get up and fight once more or if she will again enter a state of berserk with stronger drive and power to finally turn the tables on the human. However, Step Clay actually moved only to disappear from his spot to appear next to the elf woman. Then he took the woman by the neck and lowered his face towards hers. Saying, "[(Withdraw from the fight; let's talk about your situation later.)]" Then took out a pill the size of a bean and used a bit of force to make the elf woman swallow it, then he threw her away from where she was towards the beastman Regulus. "Take care of her for now will you?" As if the boss of him, Clay ordered Regulus. Surprising enough, Regulus followed his command as if it was natural and this puzzled the audience even more and various talks and thoughts were thrown into the air in speculation. However, the most surprising thing that they found was that the elf woman they thought to have suffered injuries stood up from the ground after being thrown away and kneeled on one knee towards Clay, saying, [(You have proven to be formidable beyond what this lowly one can imagine. I shall await your return.)] She said something in the elven tongue which only they were able to understand but people knew from that kneeling position that Clay just got himself an elf woman loyal to him. Close to Regulus was Jacquellin and as a ruler of the demon-race was privy to the elf tongue to some extent as do Regulus and they understood totally what this elf woman was talking about and if their speculations were correct, this woman must be part of the most powerful elves from the Fairy Forest. Unable to resist the urge, Regulus spoke and asked the elf woman, [(Are you perhaps one of the strongest elves in the Fairy Forest?)], to which the elf woman had a surprised expression. [(To think that a beastman is able to speak our language, I must be in the presence of the King of the Degocagon Prairie. Greetings, yet to your disappointment, I am but a humble elite in our tribe, the Ak'na.)] she answered him politely after knowing who she was speaking to and it may have helped that Clay sent her to him. Jacquellin also heard what she said and so came close to the two of them. She asked, [(To what extent was the damage you received earlier from Lord Clay's punch?)] she was most curious as to what extent the damage to her was made by that single punch which was healed instantly by such a small pill that Clay put into her mouth. [(Yet again, I find myself surprised that the ruler of the demon-tribe is actually a woman, and that she as well has acquainted with a human, or is it merely acquaintance?)] She paused there and continued, [(However, to answer the query of the empress, I found my injuries to be so severe that it would have killed me within a minute after that exchange. That punch brought with it a force that cannot be contained by my body, yet to my surprise it did. I credit my survival to the fact that he was holding himself back to the point that even holding back became a taxing thing to do. That is the extent of my injury, which healed completely in mere moments after consuming his pill.)] The elf woman from the tribe of Ak'na had a look of confidence and a tinge of worship towards the human, who she should hate. Jacquellin was yet again surprised when she knew just how potent Clay's pills were. Again confirming and with quite a relieved heart to be allied to him and not against him. Regulus had no idea what the both of them were thinking and just watched where he was the next fight that is about to happen. With no one else Clay was able to find as strong enough; he turned towards the strongest mana fluctuation and found the Dragon Emperor leaning on a chair and watching his movements. He was yet unaware that Clay can and has been all this time watching him as well. With a strong mana fluctuation like that, one simply cannot ignore it and so, Clay as what he wanted to do was enjoy a good fight, stretched his arms and pointed towards the point where the Dragon Emperor was and gestured him to come. To the people spectating, he was like a foolish person pointing at the air and taunting. Yet when his gestures finished, a very strong mana fluctuation emerged and submerged the whole arena and even Hark into a sea of overwhelming mana; the likes of which has never been seen or felt before. [ Clay, when he heard this wanted to laugh out loud. It was quite a good show by this person, but his intention was very clear to him. He wants all the remaining warriors to show him what an all-out attack from all of them would do to him. If he survives, then he'll be weak enough to not even pose a threat, however, if he doesn't then that's just how far he could go. A good speech plus a good and subtle intent makes for a great politician; a warrior-politician that's a thing that not even in his old world Clay has encountered. So, Clay, feeling challenged wanted to prove a point. That the Dragon Emperor's taunting will not work and that it was useless in front of him. Clay knew that these kinds of people would not submit or even talk to you with respect if they don't feel that you're stronger than them. His confidence had already been established for centuries and that would be hard to shatter. While the speech of the Dragon Emperor was on-going, in Clay's head were a familiar pinging sound again and a message that he has learned Basic Dragon Language was acquired, resounded. So he immediately used it. Jacquellin, Regulus, the elf woman were able to understand what he said, but Clay was also able to understand it thanks to the acquisition of the skill. "[
[What the! That human sure is fast in attacking. He even managed to land a hit at that split second!] A dragonkin spectator to the fight commented.
