Three years later....
Liv adjusted her bridal veil and leaned back in the limousine, smiling. To her, the road to her wedding to Dominic had been long and hard but worth every day of that time.
On that long ago day when she'd retrieved her belongings from Blaine, her brother had gone from shock to contrition in a heartbeat. She suspected his sudden change had been due to Dominic's interest in her and she'd given Blaine the same terms she'd offered Dominic. Give her time. If time proved he was sincere, maybe he could be trusted and they could have a brother-sister relationship.
Happily, he'd done an about-face. They were each other's only living relatives and he'd exhibited real emotion toward her. Like love. He'd also gone overboard to pay for her wedding to Dominic as well as the over-the-top reception that most of the elite hypocrites were invited to.
Thanks to Dominic and his willingness to renegotiate the business deal he'd had with Blaine once he was convinced of her brother's sincerity, Blaine was now one of the top businessmen in the state.
Liv glanced through the limo window as the driver entered the French Quarter, en route to the St. Louis Cathedral, where she'd soon become Mrs. Dominic Antonio Luca. She sighed dreamily.
She loved him so. Since meeting him, he was always there for her, in all her trials and triumphs. Dominic was her lover, her friend, an almost-husband and a soon-to-be father. She caressed her belly.
Because she'd just recently discovered she was expecting, she hadn't told Dominic yet. They'd planned on kids once she graduated but she'd gone with him on a weekend business trip and had forgotten her pills. She hadn't been overly concerned, figured the medicine couldn't be out of her system that quickly. But she had conceived, and this new turn of events overjoyed her.
The limousine pulled to a stop in front of the historic church. Amid gapes, claps and cheers from curious tourists, Olivia was whisked to the vestibule and into an adjoining room, where she waited for her cue to be escorted down the aisle by her brother.
A few hours later, as they lay entwined in each other's arms, Liv decided now would be the perfect time to tell Dominic her news. First, however, she basked in his happiness.
"My Olivia, you're finally mine. You don't know how happy you've made me. You're finally mine. All mine," he declared, almost reverently as she lay in his arms.
Well-sated from their lovemaking, she snuggled closer. "Would you like to be even happier?"
"I can't imagine anything else that could add to my joy," he responded and kissed her tenderly.
"How about this? If I have a boy, we can call him Anto. Isn't that short for Antonio? For a girl, Toni might work."
Dominic sat up and brought her with him. The worshipping look on his face brought tears to Olivia's eyes.
"Y-you're giving me a child?" he whispered.
"Would you like a son?"
"It doesn't matter as long as you're its mother."
Too overcome to respond, Olivia wrapped her arms around her husband. She believed she'd made all the right choices at last. She'd won Dominic's heart and his true love. Now, she carried his baby.
She pressed closer to Dominic and he tightened his hold on her. Olivia knew they'd never let each other go.
