"I-" Regan began, "I-"
Vixen reached out and s.n.a.t.c.hed the phone from her hand roughly, his hands wrapping tightly around it. He looked at the phone number on the screen, memorizing it in a glance.
"Regan?" Damien nervously called out when he couldn't hear Regan's voice. Was she ok? "Regan I know you-"
"Shut up," Vixen muttered his voice shaking with anger, "shut up you liar."
"What?" Damien asked, surprised at the manly voice from the other side of the phone, "who are you?"
"Shut up," Vixen repeated, "I can't tell if I should be amazed or disgusted at your lying skills."
"Excuse me?" Damien asked, completely caught off guard at the male voice lecturing him, "who are you?"
"I don't think names should be of your interest right now, but then again you tend to prioritize useless things over valuable ones right?" Vixen let out a flat laugh, "just like how you left her here."
Vixen turned to look at Regan. She had collapsed in her own fit of tears and covered her face with her hands, it was concerning honestly. As much as he wanted to walk out of the room and just abandon her as it seemed she had overflowed with unwanted emotions, he just couldn't. Maybe all of the years in this h.e.l.l had really made him soft, or maybe watching people like him prey on his entertainment feed, just sets him off.
"I don't really know who you are, but I could care less too. Stop acting like you know everything, I'm not sure what you were told or how many delusions you fed yourself in order to think you have a right to speak right now, but I'd suggest you stop," Damien warned, his voice rising. Who did he think he was to b.u.t.t himself into my relationships, who was he even? How did Regan know him? He hated this feeling the most, jealousy.
"Pfft, you're adorable you know that?" Vixen laughed, "so adorable, but don't act so worried about her and concerned about the people around her now, it makes me sick. d.a.m.n, I've met many a.s.ses including me but, never have I met someone deserving of my name, well, nevermind, you would make the second person actually."
"Vixen," Regan stuttered, "please stop, I'll deal with this by myself."
Vixen looked down at her and scoffed at her broken state, "you think you can accomplish anything in this state? Shush, people like him don't even deserve to be acknowledged."
"And you would know," Regan let out a quiet chuckle.
"Yea," Vixen replied, his face darkening as he remembered something from his past, "I would know."
"h.e.l.lo?" Damien called out, annoyed that he had been ignored, "you didn't seem like one with a short attention span. For someone who talks so much and seems to always have answers, you sure know how to avoid questions."
"I can only have a short attention span on something I once found interesting, so for you, I'm just treating you with the amount of relevance you have to me, which would just be called ignoring," Vixen smiled.
"I don't understand what's going on and why someone completely irrelevant to me is showing hostility while b.u.t.ting their fat heads into my issues, but," Damien paused glancing at the phone number on his screen, "who do you think you are to interrupt our relationship? I'm not sure what she said earlier but knowing her stubbornness she would have asked for you to let her deal with it herself. So I'm not sure why you think you can talk right now, because I don't remember inviting a vixen to be part of this conversation."
"Who am I?" Vixen repeated asking the question to himself. That's right, who was he? Who was he to invade in her privacy? Just because she was somebody who he found interesting, or entertaining, it didn't give him the right to defend her in this situation, nevertheless even talking to someone she had relations with but had no relations with him. Who was he? Who was he to Regan? The son of the h.e.l.l that held her? He didn't like that. The fact that he couldn't find an answer annoyed him.
