When Isabella received a call from Chamberlain, he did not state what was wrong . Only that it was an emergency and he had sent someone her way so she should return home immediately .

She recalled that the last time there was an emergency, she had almost been whisked abroad along with her mother . Apparently it was for their safety but thankfully it was a false alarm . This time around she could only pray that she does not have to leave .

Her life had just settled for a bit, she had two friends and even someone she liked . Going abroad did not sit well with her, she could only hope that it's not as serious as they think . But she also understood that it could be more dangerous since her father was running for Head of State .

"Young Miss, we've arrived . "

The drivers words broke her from her thoughts . "Thank you," she politely said before alighting .

When she got into the house, her father was seated together with her brother and sister-in-law in the living room . Their expression was solemn .

"Father…" her words trailed as she saw the look in her father's eyes .

"Come sit, Isabella . " Charles Stan gestured to a sofa .

Isabella had not properly settled when her father began, "Things are not looking too great now, so the ladies might have to leave first . "

Those words confirmed her fears . She wanted to ask why and for how long but she knew better than to interrupt her father while he spoke .

"I already sent your mother away, she's waiting for your arrival," his eyes moved to Lena and then Chamberlain, he noticed how strange the couple were acting when he called for them but he had no time to entertain them . Besides they were married, they could fix their problems themselves .

"Lena, you'll go along with Isabel and join your mother . Once things settle, then you may return . If it doesn't, expect Chamberlain to follow . "

Perhaps because she didn't know how stern Charles was or because she did not like the idea of leaving her husband behind, she interrupted him .

"Father, I won't leave Chamberlain behind . "

Chamberlain froze when he heard her . He recalled she was still mad at him for what he did . She did not even want to sleep on the same bed as him . So he did not expect her to speak up .

Chamberlain noticed that when they first got married, Lena was always in conservative pyjamas and then later she moved to wearing his shirt, which he never complained about . He found it alluring when she walked around barefooted, clothed with just his shirt .

A while later, she upgraded things to something even more alluring, lingerie . He didn't complain about it too . It was a feast for his eyes and they had grown closer with time so it didn't bother him that much .

Gradually, she had changed a lot of things without making him uncomfortable . And he liked it . Though he hadn't really thought about much, the idea of them being together until old wasn't that aversive to him as it was in the beginning .

He was comfortable with holding hands with her, embracing her and even cuddling with her and the occasional kisses that she initiated .

Just one nice morning, Chamberlain had a natural biological reaction as a result of a pleasant dream . Then he found her b.u.t.t was directly on it when he woke up . At that moment, he felt both embarra.s.sed and ashamed but lucky for him, she was still asleep . So he decided to relieve himself in the bathroom .

"Are you still mad at me?" Chamberlain cut her off . They were so close to each other that if Lena set her anger aside, she would know .

She brushed him off, "That is not important right now . "

"No . . it is, I'm sorry . I really am . "

"It's fine" The truth was that she wasn't angry anymore, she was at first but then she realized it was also progress . She was just too embarra.s.sed therefore she was acting like she was still mad .

Seeing her like this, there was no way Chamberlain would believe her .

Lena did not really want to talk about it anymore, she turned around, wanting to get away from him when he embraced her from behind .
