Chamberlain had just received the list of invited guests . His eyes scanned the list and he easily caught on to the fact that amongst the privileged guests, he wasn't particularly close to anyone . They were mostly political  party members and business partners of his father and their children .

Carl who was focusing on the three monitors on his desk did not realize when his boss appeared before him . The knocking sound on his desk alerted him .

"Good, you're here . I was thinking maybe you could get me a team, that way I could work faster and a more secure and private office wouldn't be a bad idea . " Carl straightforwardly raised his suggestion .

Chamberlain's lips curled up, "You just want to run away from me . " He gently placed his hands in his pockets, a.s.suming a confident pose . However, he was far from confident .

He was certain that he no longer wanted to be a.s.sociated with the Blackwoods but that did not mean he was not going to take everything belonging to his mother or that he would join hands with the Stans .

"Boss, I'm not powerful enough to go against my father . Neither am I willing to join hands with you . " He voiced the first part of his statement, as for the second part, he kept it to himself .

Chamberlain watched him and was able to perceive the second part of his statement even if Carl did not say it .
