We finished our meal, and I started telling the Selana about my world. At the same time comparing it with hers, allowing me to understand the major differences. Her former graceful att.i.tude replaced with child-like curiosity. It would seem the Princess does possess scholarly interests too. In our discussion so far, I've inquired a few crucial pieces of information regarding this world. Magic exists (yay!), there are many humanoid races (hopefully cat-girls too), and maybe some other beings from other realms (creepy). As for what I told her, it was mainly about the general history of our civilization and how the human race is the only civilized bipedal creatures. We even debated about some theories regarding the reason why magic exists. In doing so, we instantly formed a bond of mutual respect in terms of scholarly pursuits. I might not look like it, but despite being barely graduating college after repeating a year, I'm quite well versed in a broad range of knowledge. Jack of all trades, master of none, but still better than a master of one! Nevertheless, the Princess herself managed to impress me. I had previously a.s.sumed some medieval era place like this wouldn't produce someone capable of grasping science. While conversing, I learned that a few decades ago, the Princess had actually studied abroad for eight years or so. Disguised as a low-ranked n.o.ble of course. She had personally wished to pursue the arts but eventually a.s.sumed the responsibility of her position as the Kingdom's heir.
Realizing it's getting quite late, we reluctantly decide to wrap it up and resume at a later date. But before ending our dinner, Selana turned to me. Her expression serious and said, "Mike, on behalf of the Arthuri Kingdom, we wish to offer you an official position as our Minister of Development. Would you consider staying here and become an official citizen of our Kingdom? We guarantee you would not find it displeasing despite being the only full-human here."
Wowzie. Surely I expect this to happen eventually. I thought I would at least get to investigate the car first before deciding. But to think an offer would be made that quick and decisively.
"Why don't you take your time before coming to a decision? In the meantime, you'll still be allowed to maintain your privilege as our esteemed guest", Selana smiled kindly, noticing my predicament. Compared to her previous offer, the one she made this time seemed genuine, which made me want to say yes without thinking. Nodding in appreciation for her tactfulness, I thanked her for the offer and promised to give an answer in a few days.
The next morning I woke up, ate breakfast, and lounged at the courtyard. While doing so, I noticed how everyone's behavior around me subtly changed. The Elves now somehow seemed less wary towards me. News does spread fast, eh? Now that I'm no longer considered a threat, I should head to the jungle and investigate the car. So I told Moro about my intentions and half-hour later we set off to the site where I appeared. I meet up with the guys who caught me a few days ago, they were the first responders to the a.s.sumed threat (yours truly). Kiro, Symba, and Marsi. I hadn't noticed before, but I realized Marsi was a girl. Then again, you wouldn't go out observing gender while your life's in danger. At the time I transcended, they had a.s.sumed I might be some kind of beast, and thus decided to play it safe by bringing out the triceratops. This time we went by foot, taking half-day to reach there. Which left me sore and out of breath, since I'm not really an outdoor person. The trip was made slightly more bearable with my discoveries of much intriguing flora and fauna. The place is more extensive than I initially thought,
We arrived at the site. With the help of the elves, I made my way inside the car. The tree that encased it seemed a bit bigger than before. I checked the contents of the travel bags and found clothes, bathing supplies, toothbrushes, the things you would bring on a trip. I noticed how these clothes seemed familiar but just can't put a finger on it. I stuffed it back inside and left it for later. Next, I inspected the rest of the inventory. A box of instant noodle, a few plastic bags filled with snacks, and a bottle of Vodka. In the end, I found out nothing about the ident.i.ties of the two people with me, nor the owner of the car. The doc.u.ments were under the name of someone I didn't recognize. We lowered down the goods and decided to set up camp for the night. Grateful for their help, I decided to reward them. They might not understand my enthusiasm when Moro told them I was making dinner, but they will. I instructed them to gather some wood and fill the pot with water. I gather the bowls and start ripping up the packages, tearing the seasoning packets and pouring them in. I took my lighter and start the fire. After the water boiled, I threw the noodles in and start breaking them apart with a pair of disposable bamboo chopsticks. Judging the noodles to be perfect, I proceed to lift it out with my chopsticks. Dividing it into the bowls equally. The instant noodles were the brothless kind. Instant noodles are the staple food of every broke-a.s.s students. Me not being an exception. It's not even an exaggeration to say that I have achieved perfection at my instant-noodle-cooking skills. My companions watched the entire process in curiously, even Moro wasn't an exception. I began stirring each bowl, coating them evenly with seasoning. After I'm done, I gestured everyone to come and handed them their bowls. I could see the excitement in their eyes. There aren't many things that can compete with the smell of freshly cooked instant-noodles while camping in the woods. Even though I had eaten this more than a thousand times, I somehow still found my mouth watering. We all took a moment to savor the scent before starting to eat. Their reaction was a mixture of fascination and bliss. Satisfied at their reaction, I turned my full attention to my bowl and began devouring it. That's right, folks. Instant-noodles does transcend worlds. With our bellies full, we decided to call it a night with Symba as the first watch. Thus ends the fourth day since my arrival.
