Chapter 210 Jun Wuhen’s Trick
Mumian and Hongxiu were watching prudently Qi Muyuan and Little Third, who just came onto the carriage to sit down.
But what they thought about in their hearts was that Miss didn’t take this carriage because of them!
Thus, they couldn’t help glaring at Little Third, who was innocent.
And Qi Muyuan, who was full of senses of loss on the carriage over here, muttered, “My benefactor is already married.”
When Mumian saw Qi Muyuan like this, she couldn’t help curling her lips. She said, “Of course! Our Miss has been married to Prince already! Such a sensational wedding! Unexpectedly, you don’t even know it.”
Mumian showed a scornful look in her eyes while speaking. She didn’t even know Miss’s wedding. Did she come from Chengxi Dynasty?
But Mumian didn’t realize that her guess was right indeed!
Hearing this, Qi Muyuan perked up immediately, for she believed that whether her benefactor was married or not, her elder brother would get her.
Thought about this, Qi Muyuan stared at Mumian with her burning eyes and said, “Which clan are my benefactor from?”
Mumian, Hongxiu, and others did not expect that Qi Muyuan changed her mind so quickly. She was full of senses of loss like a frosted eggplant just now. Now, she was so gossipy in high spirits. She was really a strange person.
“My Miss… Uh…” Mumian was going to praise Bai Aoxue wantonly, but Wenxi quickly covered her mouth.
Mumian looked at Wenxi confusedly.
“Miss, as slaves, we cannot answer these things for our Miss. If you are interested in these things, you can ask our Miss by yourself, and I believe she will tell you. Please forgive us.” Wenxi said, releasing Mumian softly. She was neither humble nor pushy while looking at Qi Muyuan.
Looking at Wenxi acting like this, Qi Muyuan did not get angry. Instead, she was happy and said, “My benefactor is really awesome. Even her slaves by her side are so clever! All right! I will ask her by myself.”
And Mumian also looked at Qi Muyuan with a lingering fear. If the person in front of her was a bad guy, then she might have revealed their information completely without realizing it after the person tried to get some information from her in a casual way.
And it would do harm to Miss. Mumian knocked her head and blamed herself.
“Wenxi, thank you very much.” Mumian came close to Wenxi and whispered to thank her.
Wenxi shook her head gently and said lightly, “Actually, it doesn’t matter. Now that our Miss allowed them to get onto the carriage, it shows that they are not bad people. At least, they won’t hurt our Miss.”
Wenxi did not try to conceal anything from Qi Muyuan while speaking. Qi Muyuan also heard Wenxi’s words, and she still looked at Wenxi innocently with her almond eyes.
Certainly, for Wenxi, Qi Muyuan knew the insinuations of Wenxi’s words in her mind. Although Qi Muyuan got close to Bai Aoxue with a purpose, she didn’t have any bad intentions, and she never thought of hurting Bai Aoxue.
Maybe Bai Aoxue was aware of that. Thus, she allowed Qi Muyuan to go together with her.
“My name is Muyuan, and what should I call you?” Looking at Mumian and others, Qi Muyuan broke the ice on her own initiative and asked.
Because of Wenxi’s reminding just now, Mumian didn’t dare to talk anymore but looked at Wenxi. While Hongxiu said carelessly, “I’m Hongxiu, a maidservant of our Miss.”
“I’m Mumian!” Seeing that Hongxiu spoke, Mumian also opened her mouth and said. But she still kept what Wenxi said in mind, so she didn’t talk too much.
“I’m Wenxi.” Wenxi said lightly. She was neither warm nor cold. She was like this by nature. She had no enthusiasm for strangers. Except for several people she cherished beside her, she had no feelings for anyone else.
“Ho-ho… Please don’t mind it! Wenxi is just like this. She has emotions only when talking to Miss, while she is always so indifferent just like the ice when talking to others.” Being afraid that Qi Muyuan would mind Wenxi’s bad manner, she explained in a hurry.
Hearing this, Qi Muyuan smiled softly and said, “It doesn’t matter. What’s more, I think that your personalities are just complementary.”
Hearing this, three of them, including Wenxi and Hongxiu, looked at each other and thought Qi Muyuan was right. Then they could not help smiling unfeignedly and no longer treated her coldly as before.
Three of them could be so close and familiar. The most important reason was that they had a common master, Bai Aoxue!
“Why do you want to go to Nanyue Dynasty?” Mumian asked Qi Muyuan when looking at her, after knowing more about each other and becoming a little familiar.
“Because I’m from Nanyue Dynasty. In the early autumn of this year, my brother is just going to hold a happy event, and I should surely come back!” Thinking of her brother, Qi Muyuan said with a smile.
Mumian and Hongxiu didn’t think too much after hearing her words, while Wenxi at the side narrowed her eyes slightly and had an idea in her mind already.
“It turns out that you are from Nanyue Dynasty! I have heard that the scenery there is really charming. When we arrive there, you can treat us as a host!” Hongxiu said happily.
And Qi Muyuan also promised with a smile.
Bai Aoxue was galloping all the way. She was very happy with a long-lost feeling of freedom and carefreeness.
While Jun Yeyan also ran after Bai Aoxue neither far away nor near all the time. Seeing that she was so delighted, he was also very satisfied in his mind.
“Come on!” Jun Yeyan shouted in a low voice. He accelerated to catch up with Bai Aoxue and rode the horse side by side with her.
Bai Aoxue turned back and saw Jun Yeyan’s shadow which was stretched by the sunset. He seemed to be embroidered with gold lines. He carried a trace of unattainable sacredness.
“You are here!” Bai Aoxue bent over and smiled lightly.
Jun Yeyan nodded and said, “We are going to have a rest in the post station in front of us. The surrounding area of the post station is quite chaotic. Many robberies and brawls often occur. So, tell Mumian and others not to go outside as soon as they enter the post station later.”
Bai Aoxue listened to Jun Yeyan’s words and then frowned slightly. She said, “Is there no one to manage such a chaotic and dangerous place?”
Jun Yeyan said in a low voice, “Of course, people in the imperial court have mentioned it, but Jun Wuhen always prevaricated for various reasons. Over time, no one mentioned it. Every time a caravan pa.s.ses from here, it will be mostly looted.”
Hearing what Jun Yeyan said, Bai Aoxue’s eyes lit up slightly. She turned to look at him and said, “Have you ever thought that there are some conspiracies?”
Seeing Bai Aoxue wear such an expression, Jun Yeyan could not help reaching out one hand to put the messy hair on Bai Aoxue’s temples behind her ears. He said lightly, “It’s really smart of you to think of this.”
When Bai Aoxue heard Jun Yeyan’s words which seemed to carry a trace of exclamation and to make fun of her as well, she could not help frowning slightly. She said, “How? I don’t think that your words are sincere.”
Jun Yeyan twitched his lips and said, “How could it be? Who dares to speak to Xue insincerely? I will slaughter him first!”
Looking at Jun Yeyan acting like this, Bai Aoxue was a little speechless.
She could not help saying, “When we reach the post station, ask Zhao and others to check it out. I think that we can get some news from there.”
Jun Yeyan also agreed with her idea. He had realized it already, so he had a plan in his mind this time.
“Okay! Let’s talk about it after we arrive there. Hurry up to move on now! The danger will increase when it gets dark.” Looking at the falling sunset, Jun Yeyan said gently.
Bai Aoxue had no objection. Jun Yeyan slowly raised his hand and motioned to Zhao and his men.
And Zhao understood what he meant and ordered the troop to speed up.
Bai Aoxue slowed down to wait for the troop to catch up with her.
“Miss!” As soon as Mumian lifted the curtain of the carriage, she saw Bai Aoxue. Then she couldn’t help waving her hand and said.
Bai Aoxue patted Xiaobai’s head. Xiaobai knew what she meant and stopped, waiting for the carriage to approach.
“When we reach the post station tonight, you’d better not go out. The post station here is very chaotic, and we will get involved in danger if we are careless. I’ll order Chidian to follow you, and you have to take care of each other.” Bai Aoxue watched Wenxi and others on the carriage and slowly said while telling.
“Don’t worry, Miss. We will take good care of ourselves.” All three people promised together.
After saying that, Bai Aoxue turned her head and looked at Qi Muyuan who was full of expectation. She said, “You are the same. You should be vigilant when you are alone in the room. If you are in danger, remember to yell loudly.”
“I understand! Don’t worry, my benefactor!” Qi Muyuan said excitedly.
Qi Muyuan always called her benefactor, which made her feel annoyed spontaneously. She said to Qi Muyuan, “Please don’t call me benefactor anymore in the future. You can call me Bai Aoxue.”
Hearing her words, Qi Muyuan was stunned for a while. Even Little Third beside her was looking at Bai Aoxue in shock with his eyes opened wide.
“What? Uh… Are you Bai Aoxue?” Qi Muyuan repeated stiffly.
Bai Aoxue didn’t think there was anything wrong with her name, and she could help nodding.
“My benefactor! You are Bai Aoxue who is very famous and has been married to the 5th prince in Chengxi Dynasty?” Qi Muyuan finally returned to her mind and asked while looking at Bai Aoxue incredulously.
Looking at Qi Muyuan like this, Bai Aoxue couldn’t help frowning. She said, “It’s true that I have been married to Jun Yeyan, but my reputation is not so great.”
“Ah… Isn’t this the so-called saying that you have looked for her thousands of times in the crowd while she is just by your side?” Qi Muyuan clutched her hair and said to herself with chagrin.
“Miss, she is a little bit fool. Please don’t mind it.” Hongxiu laughed at Qi Muyuan and said while looking at her like this.
Seeing this, Bai Aoxue didn’t say anything more. She looked away and took a faint glance at Wenxi, and Wenxi knew what she meant by her eyes at once. Her eyes were more than words.
Riding Xiaobai, Bai Aoxue walked to the side of Jun Yeyan.
“Why don’t you get onto the carriage? It is a little windy and dusty after getting out of Yangzhou. It’s bad for your health.” Seeing Bai Aoxue come over, Jun Yeyan frowned and said to her.
Bai Aoxue smiled gently and said, “The carriage is full, and we are going to reach the post station soon. I’m not so delicate.”
Seeing this, Jun Yeyan did not say anything more. Indeed, Xue had never been a glazed fragile doll. She was more like a rare piece of beautiful jade. The more it was polished, the more dazzling it was.
Having experienced the hardships of life, she still kept the original look.
Finally, Bai Aoxue and others arrived at the post station to have a rest vastly and mightily before it was completely dark.
Although it was a post station of a small scale, there were lots of caravans as well as many people staring at them with covetous eyes.
From the moment when they stepped into this small post station, Bai Aoxue felt that every move they made was watched by people in the dark. Although she looked calm, in fact, Bai Aoxue was looking around without trace already.
Surely, Jun Yeyan had the same feeling as Bai Aoxue. It was like being peeked at by someone.
Thinking about this, Jun Yeyan changed the gesture of his hand which was holding the rein without trace. Of course, all this was happening in silence, and no one noticed it.
“Ha-ha… My brothers, have you seen it? Our prey is coming again!”
