"Yes!" said those two sets of eyes. The former college girls who were newly created werewolves could only stare in fresh fear at the monster before them. This little bit of a thing had killed that mountain of a man! A gold studded ear lay not 1/2 a meter from them! Becca gave them her best face and said," I'm going out back. You won't see me again. Stay here and in a couple hours a woman will return. I think her name is Cally this time. She'll take care of you. You'll be safe with her."
Becca slowly stood and walked out through the large whole in the back wall that had appeared during this fight. She walked until she could not smell the blood and violence. She raised her hands to the sky in kind of a plea, then slowly collapsed to the ground. she lay there looking at the stars. She didn't know how this worked exactly. It wasn't her magic. In all her life while she had looked for a way to end her existence she had met a man; a glorious man who would not kill her but gave her this gift, the ability to forget.
She closed her eyes knowing she was about to lose Olen forever. She would close her eyes and in a couple hours wake up a new woman. She would look different and sound different. Oh, her body structure would be about the same. She would appear as a twenty something caucasian woman. She had never been anything else so she didn't expect anything different now. Blonde, she wished for blonde this time. Her hair had been black since the 1860's.
Hundreds of miles away her Olen sat with his good friend Marcus. He'd called Marcus over because he really didn't want to die alone. Olen handed another beer to his friend, " Marcus, sigh* " He started again, " Marcus, in a couple days a young wolf will appear. She..." Olen was torn on what to say and how to say it. Marcus was himself confused by his friend's inability to explain. Olen took a long pull from his ale and said finally, " I die tonight. I have only the regret of not seeing her again." " She saved me. Before I laid waste to the world she saved me." "Help her if you can. I..." Marcus grabbed his friend's arm in alarm "Olen!" Olen gripped his friend's arm in a warrior's exchange. " Tell her to give me d.a.m.n Viking's funeral or I'll haunt her a.s.s!" Then suddenly the light faded from Olen Hamundarson eyes.
