"Rebecca Wotan killed her last pack Alpha in Jocko of the wild wolf biker gang. After she ripped him to into little bitty bits she went outside and laid down in the tall gra.s.ses and simply ceased to be. We were given a gift millennium ago. You know why wolves go crazy? Too many memories." At this moment they arrived in the garage area. Marcus was curious where this secret door opened and quickly stepped out. Call looked at the retreating back of Marcus and nearly died. OH! her heart! Be still my heart! That man had the most perfect b.u.t.t she had seen in centuries. Marcus was wearing black dress trousers that perfectly hugged his bottom. OH MY G.o.d! crashing thoughts exploded in her head, boxers, briefs, raw!!!!, thongs! Mustn't touch mustn't touch. 'We wants it. We needs it. Must have the precious. ' A quote from Lord of the Rings popped into her head.
Marcus was staring at the wall they had just stepped out of, not realizing Cally was completely dazed. The wall had slid open at a seam behind one of Olen's least used antique cars. Brillant camouflage on someone's part. Marcus was head of security and he had had no idea this was here. Consideringly, he asked "Are there more secret pa.s.sages?" Cally without taking her eyes off her target nodded numbly. "Is something wrong?" A quick negative shake of the head. "Do I have something on my pants?"
Cally finally responded, *I am walking behind this man forever* "Umm what?" Marcus saw Cally was either in deep thought or otherwise distracted so he then enquired,"You were saying about Rebecca had too many memories?. Was she about to go mad?" "Uh, no, no nothing like that." Cally took a deep breath in, closed her eyes, raised her head, opened her eyes focusing on Marcus's face and slowly exhaled. "Becca, as you know took out Old Jocko, you may have known him as Jake MacTíre. Becca had killed dozens upon dozens of mad wolves since she took Olen into her bloodline. She had walked through the fire, destruction, cruelty and death brought on by these crazed wolves, criminals gangsters and ma.s.s murders. She was an equal opportunity avenger." Cally paused, *hmm avenger* "Anyway she had seen too much and warned Olen 2 years ago she was near the end of her endurance. The Wotan has never gone mad." Cally smirked, muttering, "It might have looked like it a few times."
"So this gift allows the Wotan Clan chief to not exactly die but to disappear and another, me, to take over. I have Becca's memories and many others in my head. If I really want to hunt through the memories; I can. Becca's last thought was Olen. So it was my first thought after she let go." Marcus was bemused so he turned and led Cally to a black Jeep Grand Cherokee. "This seems rather impossible. " As he opened the door for her. "Oh, and werewolves makes perfect sense?" Cally slipped into the front seat and handed Marcus the wooden trunk she had been carrying.
Marcus put the trunk in the back and got in the Jeep. He started the engine before she spoke again. "Have you seen the BBC show 'Dr.Who' ?" He nodded. "A few times." "So you understand the premise? A time Lord, when about to die regenerates into another body?" A thoughtful look appeared on his handsome face replacing his more serious look. "It's like that, sorta kinda."
She leaned back in the seat and closed her eyes. She suddenly looked very tired so Marcus drove slowly out of the underground garage and headed into town. He occasionally looked over at his dozing pa.s.senger. *She was right it was a lot to take in. It looked like his life was going to get interesting in the future.
