A Hero's Multiverse 51 Chapter 49: Fighting An Already Lost Battle

Seeing the man all five women are claiming as their in different ways, all four of them instantly madly rush the attacker. The only one not engaging in the all-out offense, Wanda uses her own powers to land near Ethen. Finding him mostly paralyzed, she instantly crouches down beside him, invading his body with her powers.

While she does the other four, Tonya, Carol, Kara, and Natasha learn the hard way how weak they are in front of this cosmic force of nature as all their attacks, joined or solo are eighter ignored or deflected back at them. Seeing her own Elemental Blast deflected, Tonya's boosters are instantly frozen as she tumbles out of the sky. Seeing Natasha engage in hand to hand combat with the Man of literal Steel while Carol and the new girl shoot their energy blasts from the distance. Carol her photon blast and Kara her lightning bolts, Tonya gets an idea while breaking the ice freezing her boosters.

-The merge!- Looking at Kara, she flys up beside her asking. ''Hey new girl! Do you want to save Ethen?...'' Seeing an unbreakable determination in the young woman's eyes, she can already guess the answer. ''... Good. My idea is as follows...''

While Tonya tells first Kara, then Carol her plans regarding a merger of two people, Ethen with the help of Wanda is able to get back on his feet. Seeing the Cosmic Armor Superman, old memories resurface of his uncle telling him some old story.

(Uncle Bruce) ''... Your father once helped to build the Multiverses Ultimate Protector... the Thought Robot. It is a Sentential woken up in a body of pure thought. He is powered by symmetry, memories, duality, probabilities, and possibilities. A doomsday machine engineered by the Monitors to defend against the ultimate evil. Capable of adapting instantly to counter any future threat. A sentinel-suit designed for a single purpose, to protect all existence against the ultimate evil...''

-Am I the Ultimate Evil?- Thinking that Ethen sees Tonya, Carol, Kara, and Natasha to the seemingly impossible. Kara heats up the metal surface of the Thought Robot via her heat vision. Following that, Tonya uses the ice-beam of her right hang Repulsor to cool the glowing white metal down instantly. As a frost layer instantly appears, the metal beneath it looks fine, before it is once again heated up by this time by Carol's photon blast.

Remaining unmoved by all those attacks, it mostly ignores all attacks, so that Natashas follow up close combat approach allows her to at least make some scratches on the Cosmic Armor Superman. Slashing her Witchblade claws over it, eight scratch marks appear on the machines chest plate.

''Why?!...'' Asks the robot, as the just made scratch marks are slowly erased. ''... Why fight an already lost battle? Defeat is all but preventable...''

Knowing the words of the Thought Robot to be true, Ethen uses almost all of his remaining strength to step in front of the Cosmic Armor Superman, saying. ''Since you are here and you attack only me actively, you must deem me the Ultimate Evil, is that correct?''

Nodding the Robot tells Ethen. ''Affirmative.''

Getting a bad feeling, Tonya asks Ethen, before the others chime in. ''What are you doing Ethen?''

(Natasha) ''Yeah, get away from that thing!''

''I am doing what needs to be done...'' States Ethen, still staring into the emotionless eyes of the Terminator in front of him. ''... Do to me what you have to, but let the woman go.''

(Wanda) ''What are you saying!''

''Not possible...'' States the robot, holding Ethen in place with his left, while some white symbols appear around his right arm. ''... Al threats to the Stability of the Multiverse have to be eliminated.''

Seeing the terminator slammed down his right hand onto Ethens chest, Kara screams. ''NOOOO!''

Seeing Ethens body go limb, Carol holds out her right hand telling t grief-stricken Kara. ''Let's do this Merge thing!''

Hearing Carol's words while seeing Ethen slowly disintegrate, Kara takes Carol's outstretched hand saying. ''Let's do this!''

The moment their hand's touch, a beam of light instantly evaporates the storm above, as two opposite powers merge into one.

Blinded by the light, Natasha retreats back, stepping beside Natasha and Wanda asking. ''What exactly have you told them?''

''What is currently happening was just a theory...'' States Tonya looking at the place where Kara and Carol were just a moment ago. ''... There is this power between people from different Universes. I learned of its existence when meeting my doppelganger...'' Looking at Natasha, Tonya explains. ''... Your Tony Stark... Back then I deemed this power too much to handle, but theorized that people from different Multiverses might be even more powerful.''

''Look, something is happening...'' States Wanda, the moment the merge is completed and time suddenly comes to a standstill. As the merger is completed, the thoughts and motives of Carol absolutely identical. Absorbing all the light back into their fused body one can find a seemingly perfect woman. Perfect in every way, the woman created by the merge of Carol and Kara puts even Aphrodite the Greek G.o.ddess of beauty to shame.

With the wave of her hand, she retrieves a time frozen, but slowly disintegrating Ethen from the Thought Robot. Unable to contain her rage, the woman instantly strikes her enemy. ''What have you gone to Ethen?!''

''Adaptation to a new thread...'' States the Cosmic Armor, as he recovers from the initial attack, even before it finishes. ''... Starting Time erase process...''

Hearing these words coming from her target, the merged Carol/Kara is confronted by the unthinkable, as she herself, Ethen, Wanda, and Tonya suddenly show signs of disintegration. Shockingly the formerly halted time suddenly rewinds as the disintegration process speeds up.

''Stop it, please!'' The merged Carol/Kara pleads with the emotionless robot, who by now has already lost interest in her looking at the somehow exempt from disintegration Natasha.

Not knowing what else to do, Carol/Kara start doing desperate suicidal attempts to at least stall the terminator from erasing her friends. Unfazed by any and all attacks, the merged individual can come up, it approaches the time frozen disintegration resistant, Natasha. ''... Unable to complete scan... Scan inconclusive...''

Meanwhile, in front of the Multiverse Gate, Wukongpool contemplates about the new knowledge in his mind. Sitting in a meditative position, trying to relax for hours, he finally gives up, as a silent fart escapes him. The foul, disgusting smell instantly fills the Gate room. Unable to control his own body's reaction, Wukongpool starts to tear up and puke uncontrollably, enhancing the smell of rotten eggs mixed with monkey s.h.i.t.

Disgusted by his own fart, he decides to once an again open the Multiverse Gate and breath some fresh air. Acting on pure desperation, he instinctively reestablishes a connection to the Injustice Universe. Opening the Multiverse corridor in outer s.p.a.ce, he is initially happy to have his air sucked out of his lungs, before realizing that the second sun on the horizon is not supposed to exist. The second sun being the merged Carol/Kara.

Seeing his friends fighting an already lost battle, he decides to take action. Spotting Wanda bolding up Ethen, as well as Tonya and Natasha shielding them with some kind of failing forcefield, he instinctively gets his priorities straight. -Forget my great magnum opus aka THE fart of the Century... It is Showtime. Time to be THE hero...-

Rubbing his humanoid hands in excitement, Wukongpool opens up Gates one after another, pulling or pushing his friends into the temple. As the though Maschine is still in thought, the golden monkey dressed in a black and red spandex Suit of Armor finds Ethens G.o.dslayer Sword Spear instantly falling in love with it.

Weighing it in his furry paws, he exclaims. ''Nice, nice... Definitively a good weapon... I keep it as compensation...''

That said, he opens up the last Gate in front of the still merged Carol/Kara, pulling her out of the Multiverse controlled by the Cosmic Armor...
