A Hero's Multiverse 22 Chapter 21: Hunter Prince

While Tonja, Ethen, Deadpool, Brook, and Sindri are leaving Nidavellir, director Fury is facing great trouble, as some sword-wielding madman has infiltrated his Shield facility outside of New York. Despite Stark Tower, now being the Avengers Headquarters, the complex was still heavily armed and guarded.

Having seen the attacker bulldoze his agents Fury Contacts Steve Rodgers and Natasha Romanov after sending Carol a distress signal.

''Steve, Natasha the facility is under attack. We could need your help...'' Fury says, transmitting his words into barracks where the two are currently packing his bags. ''... The attacker is armed with a sword and dangerous. Half the stationed agents have all be either knocked out, wounded or killed by him.''

Arming himself with a rocket launcher, Fury smirks satisfied, as he sees Rodgers and Romanov already geared up, leaving the barracks. Checking out the monitor, he locates the attacker near the interrogation rooms, more specifically the one where Ethen had open his Gate.

Reaching the signal his compa.s.s is pointing at, Hunter is more than disappointed when instead of a powerful villain he only finds an empty doorframe.

''What the... Is this thing broken?'' He angrily shouts, slowly losing his patience. Before contemplating further about what is going on, he is suddenly hit by a few bullets aimed at his back. Turning around, Hunter finds a smirking redhead in a black skintight suit.

Checking out the woman's curves he tells her. ''It isn't nice to shoot people in the back!''

Before he can here an answer, he is suddenly tackled from behind, as a round metal shield hits his spine. Getting an idea, Hunter fakes an injury and lies down where he falls.

''Well that was easy!'' Comments the man who tackled him to the ground.

Keeping his eyes closed Hunter hears the redhead say. ''The stronger they are, the harder they fall.''

(Shield guy) ''Do you know what he wants?... Oh, I get it cla.s.sified.''

(s.e.xy redhead) ''You know it!''

(Shield guy) ''You know you should go out some times and be more open... Clint is still p.i.s.sed that you didn't attend the victory meal after...''

Predicting the shield guys intention of picking him up, Hunter stops faking being unconscious. Having heard more than enough, his new target is the redhead, who definitely has some information about his actual target.

Knowing that Hunter kicks the shield guy while getting up. Ignoring the man, he starts stalking the redhead like a predator. Being forced to retreat, while shooting, she screams in terror. ''Steve are you okay?''

From behind himself, Hunter hears the shield guy. ''I am fine Natasha.''

Looking at fierce, the woman apparently called Natasha asks him while disposing of her handguns. ''What do you want anyway?'

Seeing the woman's fierce gaze, Hunter can't keep himself from smiling, so he tells her. ''Fierce and a redhead! I like it!''

Before Hunter can grab the woman, he suddenly is. .h.i.t by a rocked and blasted through the wall and outside the building. Standing up a second time, Hunter sees a black man with an eyepatch, lowering a rocket launcher. Wanting to counterattack, Hunter refrains from doing so since he notices a woman in blue, gold and red armor come flying in his direction.

Out of nowhere the woman instantly hits him with some kind of energy blast. Withstanding the blast, he takes out one of his favorite tools from the Legion. Having already expected a situation like this involving a metahuman, Hunter takes out a so-called 'Suppression-Collar'. Seeing the woman gather her power to hit him a second time, he simply jumps her by using his flight ability.

Catching her of the guard he has her subdued without any complication, the moment the collar is placed around her neck and her powers are suppressed.

At the same time, as Captain America, Fury, Black Widow, and Captain Marvel are fighting Hunter, Ethen and friends are making some great discoveries inside the temple. Having Sindry and Brock removed some floor plates covering a set of stairs, they discovered up another two, previously hidden floors.

On the first floor just below of that, they are now calling the 'Gate Room', they have found s.p.a.ces most likely being a powerplant, a forge, an armory, an infirmary, a conference room, and a locked elevator.

Below that on the second floor, they have found living quarters, three hot springs, bathrooms, a large living room, an equally large kitchen, half a dozen bedrooms.

As they enter each room the lights instantly turn on having scouted both floors to the best of their abilities, considering the whole temple is suppressing most of Ethen's powers. Meeting up half an hour later they all meet up in the conference room on the first floor.

''So what do you think?'' Asks Ethen the two dwarfs and Tonja.

Smiling and eager to start working Brokk says. ''This place is a good place to live and work in.''

''My brother is right...'' Says Sindri before telling everybody. ''... BUT some remodeling has to be done and we will need some stuff and more people to fill the empty rooms.''

''I would prefer that we get that elevator moving again...'' Says Tonja, reminding everybody about that locked door. ''... Because I would love to learn more about this place and whatever is accessible through that elevator is a great place to start!''

While Ethen and friends are working on making the place a home, Fury is devastated seeing the strongest hero he knows to be so easily defeated.

Using Danvers as a human shield, Hunter closes in on Fury. Facing the shield director, the self-proclaimed adventurer is lightly impressed for the man's calm demeanor when facing him. Taking the rocket launcher from him, Ethen easily crushes it in between his hands.

''You are a brave and honorable man, Mr. For that I will let you live...'' grabbing Fury's neck, Hunter lifts him high up into the air, asking. ''... Now, where is that daemon? What do people know about the 'Destroyer'?''

Looking around, he only finds empty faces, except for that redhaired beauty Natasha. Pointing at her Hunter says. ''You... You know who I am talking about... I can see it in your eyes.''

Throwing Fury against a wall, dismissing him outright, Hunter misses the hint of knowledge in the man's eyes.

Back on his feet, Rodgers places himself in between Romanov and Hunter saying. ''I know nothing about a Deamon or a 'Destroyer' and who are you anyway?''

''Since you are brave enough to face me you deserve to know my name...''Hunter says while making a dramatic pause. ''... I am Hunter Price, Borne to Diana Prince, Queen of the Amazons and wielder of 'G.o.dslayer'. Who are you a brave soldier?''

Smiling, Steve says, in an attempt to borrow Natasha some time. ''I am Steve Rodgers, some people call me Captain America. I...''

''Stop it! I know you are just borrowing time for your friend to escape...'' Saying that Hunter uses his superspeed and easily catches up to the spy. ''... Now, who have we here?''

Seeing Natasha struggle unsuccessfully against Hunters hand around her neck, Cap shouts. ''Come on! Let her go we can surely talk about this! If you let her go, we might even help you find and fight that 'Destroyer'...''

''Humpf... You people can't even fight me, how do you think you can face a being that is capable of destroying planets and galaxies?''

''With duct tape, sip and a truckload of luck?...'' Steve states, hoping to keep the conversation going for only a few minutes more until the cavalry would arrive. ''... I have heard that today's duck tape is much better than...''

Before Cap is able to finish his sentence, Hunter and Natasha are already disappearing, just like a mirage.
