A Hero's Multiverse 19 Chapter 18: Mantel Of The Champion

Still looking a bit hungover, the dwarven king doesn't know how to face his guests and nephews, deciding to talk about the task at hand, Eitri say. ''So you two are here to get custom made armors?''

''Yes, we are. Mine recently broke and lost his.'' Tells him Tonja very respectful.

Nodding in understanding, the old dwarf rubs his thick beard, saying. ''Good. First timers are always a ha.s.sle to deal with. Now, what are your expectations and must have functions concerning your armors?''

Both Tonja and Ethen describe their former armor stet as detailed as they can. While Tonja highlights various must have functions her armor has to have, Ethen, goes into great detail about the concept of faking damage.

Having brought idea about the two armor sets by now, Eitri steps in front of the melting pot, instantly noticing the black shining silver metal. Turning to Brokk he asks. ''What is this? Didn't I tell you there is no better metal for dwarfs than Uru?''

''Hehehe. You are so wrong, uncle...'' Stays Brok, before explaining. ''... And now I can prove it to you know! What you see here is Primordial Symbiotic Metal! Only with Ethen's help and the forge working on full power did we even melt that orb. Since it is also a living organism I fed it with Uru, Adamantium, and Vibranium.''

Contemplating Eitri turns to Ethen asking. ''Is that true?''

Nodding Ethen says. ''Yes, absolutely, now about my armor...''

''Who cares about an armor!...'' Eitri states, looking quite mad while eyeing the black liquid metal. ''... This metal is meant for weapons!''

Surprised by his uncle's sudden madness? Sindri asks. ''Uncle didn't you previously say that we could only make weapons for the Asgardians?''

Hearing his nephews question the madness instantly vanishes from his eyes. ''G.o.d dammed Odin! I am sure he knew about this metals existence!''

''Good. Now that, that is out of the way...'' Says Sindri making a dramatic pause. ''... Let's start with the armors designs and measurements, shall we?''

Taking off his clothes, Tonja is once again impressed by Ethen's bodybuild, as she takes his exact measurements under the guidance of the dwarfs. Using his and Tonjas measurements, already taken by Sindri when creating her prostheses, Eitri and Brokk instantly begin to work on the armors, while Sindri and Tonja start working on a new and improved version of her power source for her armor.

Seeing everybody work hard, Ethen feels a bit guilty, as he aside from using his heat vision to support the forging process is unable to help with anything. Not wanting to be a burden on anybody, he sits down beside Wade and starts drawing his armor.

Seeing his friend draw, Deadpool comments after the drawing is mostly done. ''Your armor looks like you combined Corvo Attano's second mask with the armor of the Arkham Knight and instead of the A for Arkham you draw a white 'S'- coat of arms on top of it. Don't you think you are breaking copyright law?''

Irritated Ethen asks the skull. ''Do you even know the meaning of the words you are saying?''

''Sometimes I do, some others I don't...'' Explains Pool very serious before a big smile appears on his face and he says. ''... Praise the great Author-sama for that!''

Ignoring his last nonsensical statement Ethen asks seriously. ''Could it be that you are becoming more and more unhinged?''

Smirking Wade says. ''Possible?!?!''

''Any cure for that?...'' Ethen asks, contemplating, before saying. ''... Maybe you should think about therapy...''

Interrupting Ethen, Pool shouts. ''Oh, h.e.l.l no! The last time I did something like that I went all murdery! No therapy for this me! No thank you! No gracias! No grazie! Non merci! Nein danke! нет Спасибо!...''

''Stop, stop, please stop!...'' Ethen pleads with the skull, as he experiences a ma.s.sive headache. Seeing Tonja and Sindri come out of another forge, he states. ''... Look at that. Sindri and Tonja are all done!''

Meeting up with the two, Ethen sees a shiny new Ark Reactor embedded into Tonjas chest saying. ''Looks good on you.''

Smiling, Tonja tells him. ''Thanks using a Vibranium core really helps. I previously used Palladium on. Had I used it for a longer period of time I might have gotten poisoned by it.''

''Great. We could need some help here!'' Says Eitri, as he with the help of Brokk is lifting a nearly fully a.s.sembled armor out of the furnace.

''WTF?! What is this?...'' Ethen hears Deadpool comment as he is supporting the two dwarf as they carry together Tonjas new suit of armor to an acid bath for further tempering. ''... This thing looks just like a Javelin, specifically the 'Storm', without the ridiculously looking goat legs!''

''Shut up head. This thing might just be my ultimate masterpiece!...'' Lectures Tonja Deadpool, explaining. ''... I call it the 'Iron Maiden Mark XIII'. Aside from it's refined looks, it has numerous upgrades like two additional reactors and the ability of instant Teleportation. But the really fun stuff doesn't end there! The Mark XIII also has a totally new Repulsor-System with an 'Elemental-Repulsor' installed on my right arm, capable of firing off fire-, ice- and electric- beam. To top it all of the armor also has an Ultimate be-all-end-all move called 'Elemental Storm'.''

''Out of the way, out of the way...'' Brok shouts, as he, Sindri and Eitri are lifting Ethen's armor out of the furnace. ''... Hot and heavy, hot and heavy!''

Nearly breaking their backs while carrying the light looking armor, all three dwarfs refuses to let Ethen help them, this time stating. ''If dwarfs can't carry their own creation they are too old to lift a hammer!''

A little bit dissatisfied with the dwarf's att.i.tude Tonja asks them. ''Humpf and this wasn't the case when you lifted my armor because?''

''Yours was mostly built with known materials...'' Explains Brock. ''... Every time we dwarf s forge a weapon or an armor out of previously unknown materials, it is not only an honor but also the privilege of the creator(s) to be the first to carry it.''

Seeing confused faces Sindri further explains the situation by stating. ''Being the first to carry something made by our own hands is an enlightening experience for us dwarfs!''

''Hahaha take that Odin! Your fake Infinite Gauntlet isn't my greatest masterpiece any more!'' Shouts Eitri proudly, as he sees the armors colors come out in the acid tempering.

Seeing all three dwarfs sparkling eyes Tonja asks. ''Since you guys built it what is it called?''

Rubbing his beard Eitri says. ''The 'Champion's Mantle' seems fitting since your alias is 'Champion' and we had to make so much metal fabric for it just to create this 'Fake-Damage' Ability.''

(Sindri) ''Sounds great!'' (Brokk) ''Good name!'' (Deadpool) ''I still think 'Lawsuit waiting to happen' is more appropriate!''

(Everybody) ''Shut up Wade!''

Always the nosy engineer Tonja eyes the 'Champion's Mantle' curious before asking the dwarf's. ''What are its functions?''

''Not nearly as many as your armor...'' Starts Sindri to explain. ''Aside from the ridiculous function 'Fake-Damage' Ability it has only two major functions. The first being Augmentation Lenses allowing him to enhance and focus his natural eyesight and use his head vision more precisely. The second ability of the armor it is to prolong and stabilize his so-called 'Supercharge'.''

''This is absolutely ridiculous! Insane!'' Shouts Tonja, as she already knows overpowered Ethen's Supercharge truly is.

Seeing Tonjas frightened expression Ethen thanks the dwarfs by saying. ''I don't know what Deadpool promised you guys for our help, but it has to be worth it since these armors are awesome!''

Only able to hole hardly to agree Tonja says. ''I agree! Totally worth any price!''

Smirking Eitri says smirking. ''Than we hope you give it you're all. We expect a great performance from the two of you!''

Not understanding what the dwarf is talking about, both Tonja and Ethen look at Deadpool.

''The payment, yes well about that...'' Deadpool says, unsure about how to break it to his two friends. ''... The thing is... as you might have noticed all 300 dwarfs living on Nidavellir are male... some are gay, some are not.''

''Stop stating the obvious skull!...'' Says Ethen annoyed by the skulls antics. ''... Now tell us what you promised the dwarfs as payment!''

''Stop rushing me to tell you...'' Dejected Pool tells them. ''... Without knowing the bigger picture you might misunderstand my intentions...''

Encouraging him Tonja says. ''Come on Wade, I wouldn't judge!''

''... Oh thank you Tonja... Where was I again...'' Wade says, trying to waste time. ''... Oh, yes some dwarfs are others are not. What the two of you have to do is for those that are not...''

Shocked Tonja screams at the skull. ''What are you saying?! I am not a prost.i.tute!''

''... That's not what I was about to say! You and Ethen will just have to follow a script and do what it says!''

''Show me that script!'' Demands Ethen, not trusting the talking skull at all.

''The script is with Eitri!''
