Waking up in the morning, Will stretched his body before he resumed his walk back to the mountain after eating something.
While walking past several trees that even ten people couldn't circle, Will thought about when he ran into those footprints.
Thinking of the decay and rot in the surroundings, he couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine.
'I wonder what that was about?'
Shaking his head, he cleared the thought from his mind.
Hours pa.s.sed as he got closer and closer to where the mountain was.
As he walked into a clearing, he looked up at the towering mountain in front of him with awe.
As he looked at the ground, he cautiously walked around a rock sticking slightly out of the ground.
This is where he fell unconscious before by falling.
As Will stood in the clearing, he realized that several new pulling sensations could be felt on his body, he had an annoyed look on his face as he stared at all of the plants randomly growing in the surroundings.
"Not the time, not the time"
He shook his head as he looked up at the mountain, seeing the straight drop from where the cave entrance is, Will shivered as he thought about the climb up.
When he exited the cave before, he had to jump from protruding rock to protruding rock, and plant to plant.
It would be a great nightmare for someone with acrophobia.
As he observed the mountain, he noticed streams of smoke coming from the cave entrance.
Feeling panicked, a cold breeze blew onto him, causing shivers to run down his spine.
He had to hurry up, and see if she was okay!
One may wonder why someone would care about a girl they met not so long ago, well, the reason Will has attached so much importance to her, is that she didn't try to kill him and that he needs resources for his ability.
As Will rushed over to the mountain, he tripped over the same rock that knocked him out before, even though he walked around it already.
Over an hour pa.s.sed as Will ran through bushes and smashed down small trees, making a ruckus as he crashed through the forest on the way to the mountain.
As he stared up the ninety degree climb, Will looked at the sky and observed the sparkling streams of energy flowing in the air.
Shaking his hands, Will's muscles trembled as he jumped several meters into the air and grabbed onto a protruding rock.
The process of climbing up, involved him swinging from protruding rocks to other protruding rocks, sometimes he would grab onto the plants rooted into the side of the wall, and use those to bring himself closer to the top.
Several times he lost his grip, or the rock/plant he grabbed would be pulled out of the wall.
In that case, Will would fall down as he scratched at the wall until he caught onto the smallest protrusion, leaving his hands severely bloodied as he resumed climbing.
He had no other choice, even with his newly gained strength, a fall from that height would turn him into a meat patty.
Filled with worry, Will finished his climb as his brows furrowed.
The whole climb up, he couldn't hear the slightest noise from the cave.
As he stood there, heart pounding, he came to a realization.
"This must be my fault"
With clenched fists, he slowly stepped into the cave, as he stepped into the cave, he could see scorch marks everywhere.
Walking past the scorch marks, his foot echoed quietly through the cave as his face went pale.
The smell of burnt flesh lingered in the air as he walked pa.s.sed the charred body of a middle aged man.
Seeing drops of blood throughout the cave, Will's concern rose even more.
While panicking, he ran into the pa.s.sageway that connected rooms.
Thoroughly checking the cave, besides signs of a battle, he discovered that the cave was empty.
There was no sign of Cecily.
