It was the afternoon, the sun was up high with sunlight slashing down like golden swords.
Will was still walking through the tall gra.s.s, he couldn't find a clearing.
Whenever he stopped to take a break, he would focus on trying to use his ability.
He would try to imagine a potion, but it would fail every time.
He would try to focus on a physical attribute, but that never worked.
He just wanted a simple jumping ability!
Was that too much to ask for!?
Hours pa.s.sed as Will kept looking for a way out, he went through countless blades of gra.s.s, eh, more like swords of gra.s.s.
He still could only see gra.s.s.
Will's eye started to twitch as he punched the ground, "What kind of f*cking joke is this!?"
Panting, Will looked at the sky and started to look closely at the streams of energy flowing in the sky.
'The streams of energy.. Wait! How did I know that was energy in the first place?'
Looking at the sky, Will went into a deep thought, hours pa.s.sed as Will maintained this position.
As Will was lost in thought, a gentle breeze blew through the gra.s.s, leaving a clear path.
The path remained open for a brief moment before it closed, on the other side of the path, an ancient forest was revealed.
Waking up, Will was stunned as he noticed it was night already, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
He quickly calmed down as he thought back to all the webnovels he read, 'This must have been a state of enlightenment? What did I figure out though? I don't feel enlightened in the slightest'
Shaking his head, he rubbed his empty stomach.
It's been well over a day since he last ate, he was sure his stomach was sticking to his spine.
Looking at the clear night sky with stars like tiny sparkling gems, he laid down to go to sleep.
Will slept peacefully under the light of the moon as the night wind ruffled his hair.
That night as Will slept, all around him glowing spots of light started appearing out of nowhere.
The glowing spots of light, like a vortex, were absorbed into his body.
That morning...
-Host can now use his ability
Waking up, the first thing Will heard was the system in his head.
"REALLY!"
Looking at the status, Will clenched his fists, "D*mn you, trash system!"
The reason Will was angry, was because of the status.
Name: Will, Age: 20
Health: Under stress *Liver damage may occur
Abilities: Potion Maker
*Host has learned to sense energy, can now use ability: Potion Maker
*all abilities are permanent once gained, in the case of the system ceasing to exist, the host will still keep all abilities
Well there were two things enraging Will, the liver damage warning, and the fact that the system didn't tell him he needed to sense energy first.
"F*cking system! I already hate you!"
Gurururur~
Will stopped in mid rage as his stomach made noises, thus, allowing him to calm down.
Looking at the gra.s.s waving in the wind, Will was confused, 'When did I learn to sense energy??'
Taking a deep breath as he looked at the rising sun, he realized that there was a mist-like feel to the air, following his inhale, his mind would feel a little clearer.
'This must be the energy!'
"I can finally make my jumping potion!"
Will exhaled a relieved sigh as he started to focus on using his ability.
Before he could get into the proper mindset, he heard the knocking of wood come from behind him.
Overcome with curiosity, Will ran in that direction, after several minutes he stopped.
With a glint in his eyes he shouted to the sky, "h.e.l.l yeah!"
In front of him he could see a ma.s.sive forest filled with ancient trees, he could finally leave the gra.s.sy plains.
