Her mother died while giving her birth because of excessive blood loss and could have been saved with proper medical care but there weren't much skilled doctors to stop the blood and that lead to her mother's death on operation table. Her father was very upset and depressed after his beloved's death. He missed his wife.
He didn't know how to take care of a new born and was in a very confused state of mind as to whether he'll be able to take care of her or not. He even considered an option of giving her for adoption but then thought that his wife will not appreciate this action of his and decided to raise her into a beautiful girl.
According to what Lara have heard from her father, her mother Stella Gomez was a people's person. She had that friendly aura around her. Everyone loved her and there was no enemy of her. She can start a conversation anywhere and with anyone. This was how they met.
Her father Lucas Gomez on the other hand was of shy nature and had cold and aloof personality. They both lived in Alamo and they met near the lake. Lucas was shy and wanted to change his way when he saw her. He was that creepy kind of lover who stalks the one they love but never have the courage to confess.
One day he saw that her scarf was stuck on the branch because of strong winds and now she was not able to get a hold of it as it was very high and she was quite short compared to other girls.
Alamo is a small town and everyone knew everyone's names so it was not difficult for her to say that it was 'shy Lucas' standing there. She and her friends gave him this nickname because of his shy nature. She asked him for help and he did so. From then on they started conversating and eventually ended up marrying each other.
From the photos of her mother she can tell that her mother was always happy and there was not a single picture where you cannot find her toothy smile which easily attracted people. Lara got this smile from her mother. Her dad never forget to mention how similar she looked liked her mother whenever she smiled and how he loved her mother's smile and always feel nostalgic when she smiles.
Lucas was Spanish and Stella's ancestors were migrants from France so her whole family knew French well. Lara learned Spanish from her father and french from her grandparents, Stella's father and mother. Lucas's father died a natural death 2 years after Lara was born. 3 years later, his mother's grief for her lost husband led her to a heart attack and she died too.
Oliver's family were Italian and so she learned a bit of Italian too from his mother. But she have always had an interest in learning Hindi so she joined Yoga cla.s.ses where an India coach was working. and learned Hindi from her tutor. So overall she knew English, Spanish, French, Italian and Hindi. Everyone in school were very impressed with her knowledge of five languages and her accent was also very perfect with each and every language.
Her dad was a small scale silver dealer. When his wife was pregnant he finally got a chance to extend his business and after Lara was born, there was no going back. They shifted to Los Angeles from Alamo for convenience and easy access to his business. His parents didn't want to leave the peaceful atmosphere of Alamo so they decided to stay back. Her father's business grew rapidly after that and now he was not only a silver dealer but gold too.
His company was in international markets after 7 years in LA, when Lara was 12 he had opened his own jewelry store too. Many in his field said that this type of luck was of one in a million. They all found that G.o.d was very generous on him. One magazine t.i.tle also read 'Lucky billionaire's secret: his daughter' with a picture of 12 years old Lara with her dad.
Oliver was born rich. It was all kudos to his grandfather's hard work. After his company's profits took off in Italy, he decided to expand it in international market and just because of his hard work they were able to turn into a famous MNC. Their head office was built in LA and so he shifted here with his wife and only son. Oliver was also the only son of Marcus and Sofia Romano so there were no internal fights for the position of CEO.
Their childhood was spent perfectly. No regrets - as they said. Lara was very happy.
The time came when she had to choose a stream and pursue her career. Lara was determined that she wanted to study biology and become a gynecologist. She was very satisfied with her decision and had many things planned out too.
Oliver's decision was fixed too. He wanted to study business, get his degree in MBA then intern for some time in his own company and learn everything about it thoroughly before stepping up as a CEO and taking all responsibilities of the company. He grew up watching his grandfather and father work very hard for this company to get where it is right now and was very inspired by their work.

He thought that it was his duty to carry on their company's name to more achievements. He wanted to make his family name more famous. It was not that he felt that it was only his duty to take over the company or that he owe at least that much to his family. Studying about business and economics was his kind of pa.s.sion aside from football.
He loved all that business tactics and was himself very skilled in convincing people and making his point superior. He got a feeling of victory whenever he was able to help his father and grandfather with anything. He found himself curious whenever it came to cracking a deal which was impossible and to finding out the faults in some projects which others were not able to. He considered his father and grandfather his biggest idols and learned a lot from them.
On the other hand, Lara despised all these cunning business games. She never believed in 'Life is a marathon and you have to run fast to win it'. She thought that life was there to enjoy, to explore, to follow pa.s.sion and thought that running blindly in race because everyone is running is idiotic. She believed that blindly following the crowd is of a coward's job, she believed in her own path. Hence she built her own bridge of dreams from scratch. But...things never turn out as planned.
