Both Zhou Lei and Zhou Zhenya were shocked at their father's sudden outrage. Only then did they realize... that their father was actually lying on the couch under their b.u.t.ts!
Zhou Zhenya previously knew of this fact, but the shock of revelation that the handsome man was her brother made her forget it.
Meanwhile, Zhou Lei saw him in his peripheral sight, but he was enjoying talking to his sister too much that he disregarded it!
After all, these two siblings had not talked closely in a long time, and will probably not talk again after this night. Thus, they made use of the time they had to speak cordially to each other.
This made them ignore their father who was sleeping peacefully on the couch!
Of course, after they heard their father, they quickly stood up and apologized sincerely.
"Hmm, by the way, why would you need me to cook you an egg?" Zhou Lei was genuinely confused about this. He knew personally his sister's cooking skills, and felt that they were fairly good.
Meanwhile, when he himself cooked an egg, despite his ma.s.sive expectations due to his high Cooking Skill stat, he wasn't able to cook one delicious egg, the egg that he cooked tasting more or less normal.
If even System couldn't improve his mundane cooking skills, then what can?
"What do you mean? It's obviously because you cook well." Zhou Zhenya replied matter-of-factly.
"Yes, but you cook as well as I do, actually, you're even better." Zhou Lei nodded his head while he spoke as he agreed to his own statement.
"Hmm? What are you saying, it's no use flattering me. It's clear that you're better than me by a hundred times." Zhou Zhenya blushed a little after hearing her brother's majestic voice flatter her, but she denied his statement.
She sounded modest, but in reality, this was her true thoughts. After tasting her brother's cooking, she felt indignant about how inferior her cooking is to his, and jealousy sprouted from within.
However, she quickly removed that jealousy and turned it into grat.i.tude that she had a brother with such outstanding cooking skills.
"What are you saying...? My cooking skills are normal. You started cooking way earlier than me, even though you're younger, so it's plain to see that you should be better."
Zhou Lei really believed that he was inferior to his sister. As such, he didn't back down... from self-depreciating himself?
"You're being too humble. It is me who is inferior to you." Zhou Zhenya smiled awkwardly. She was puzzled as to why her brother, the cook himself, questioned his own abilites. Now, she doubted again whether this handsome man was truly her brother or not.
Meanwhile, Zhou Jiahao tried to return to his earlier sleeping state, but swiftly discovered that it was impossible. The reason being his children were too noisy.
He heard his son and daughter compliment each other, and lowering themselves in comparison. He was getting fed up.
"Both of you suck, shut up!" Zhou Jiahao screamed yet again as his patience reached its end. He truly does not fit the ideal image of a parent. In fact, he acts more like a child than both his children...
Zhou Lei and Zhou Zhenya were speechless after hearing their father's voice.
