Another War 22 Day Off Part 1

She let the drone scanned the four individuals who just exited the aircraft to check for any grave injuries that needed immediate medical attention. Fortunately, they were all cleared by the medical drone and levitate in the air on standby, waiting for any succeeding orders from its master.

"Based on the reading from the drone," Avatara started, eyeing the three students carefully. "You, three, will be needing at least a day or two of resting to regenerate your magical reserves."

Hearing it from the blue-haired Engkanto, Ranger did a fistb.u.mp to no one, grateful that there will be no cla.s.ses to attend the next day.

But Professor Fields mockingly pretended to clear his throat to get the attention of his students. He stood beside Avatara and flashed his smile at them.

"As per the medical expert, the three of you will be taking a day off tomorrow and after that, we will resume our cla.s.ses the day after that."

"But," Ranger interjected, stepping in front of Yule and Sanna. "Avatara have mentioned we need at least two days of rest. So please correct your announcement."

"If I remember correctly, she mentioned at least a day or two, right?" He glanced casually beside him where Avatara just shrugged, looking like she didn't want to be involved in this usual tirade by Matteo and Ranger. "Anyways, it's final. See you on Friday." He voiced it out sternly, ending the argument.

Ranger was about to protest again when Sanna grabbed his right shoulder and dragged him out of the hangar. Yule trailed behind them looking apologetic at his professor and to Avatara, while Ranger continued to have his fits despite being dragged forcefully by his cla.s.smate.

When they exited the hangar and headed outside the academy, they found that there was a bus waiting for them. Upon entering inside, there were already other students seating casually who had similar haggard and tired looks as Yule, Ranger and Sanna's. They all looked like they just finished their extermination missions also. Some of them threw a nod to Ranger which he returned casually, while Sanna and Yule tried to find a vacant seat which eventually they found separately.

The three of them slouched at their seats and remained quiet until they had arrived at their dorm.

They went on separate ways when they arrived at the students' dormitory. Sanna waved goodbye at them and went to the girl's wing earnestly while Ranger went to his hallway. Despite being on the same wing, Ranger's room was located on the ground floor while Yule's was on another floor. But before he left Yule, Ranger invited him to go to Game District tomorrow since they have free time tomorrow which Yule accepted and went upstairs, excited to feel the comfort of his own bed.

When he opened his room, he was not surprised that Haruto hadn't arrived yet before him.

'Their team might be on its way to the city. I'll just talk to him tomorrow. In the meantime, I need to clean myself first', he thought.

He quickly went to the bathroom and undress his dirty school uniform. Then, he soaked himself with a cold blast of the shower, rubbing his body off of the grimes and remnants of the asw.a.n.g. After making sure that his body was already smooth clean from the battle earlier, he changed to his PJs and threw himself to his bed.

His mind was still active, reflecting from the battle he went through. Back to his homeworld, his main concerns were his a.s.signments, projects, what to read next and what anime to watch next, the standard things in life for a normal high school student. But in this world, he had to juggle academics and battling mythological monsters where his life was always at stake, and one wrong move might cost his life or his teammates' lives. Yule shuddered at the thought of losing the lives of his friends. He tried to shift his thoughts to other things. He pondered at the thought if he could still return back to his own world. But before he could come up with solutions, drowsiness arrived and he let himself succ.u.mb to it, letting the darkness in.

The next day, he woke up from the continuous buzzing sound of his mobile device. He grabbed it from the bedside drawer and swiped open the device. He squinted his eyes from the sudden brightness of his mobile device and found ninety-nine plus notifications on his student portal. He tried to rub his eyes just to make sure if he was seeing it accurately. Fortunately, it was real, and he quickly clicked the notifications. He was directed to the main page of the student portal and found that there was posted video in the newsfeed. He clicked the video and was surprised it was the video feed of their battle yesterday. And their names were tagged at the video, including him.

People were feasting on the comment sections where they were all surprised that a couple of students just defeated two level-three asw.a.n.g. Yule found some students asking who was the other guy with a violet spear. Surprisingly enough, someone answered them that Yule was the "nephew" of Professor Fields. But another student commented that he was shocked that the professor has remaining relative after that "incident." This made Yule frowned.

'What incident?' he asked himself. He was about to message Sanna or Ranger to know further about this mysterious incident when another notification popped on his screen. It was an email from Sanna.

Upon opening the email, he noticed that it was not just addressed to him but to Ranger, Haruto and Jin-Yoo as well.

'Guys!! Check this out! We're on national news!' Below her message was a link to a news website. He clicked the link and directed him to a news page. He browsed the content and found there was an interview with Professor Fields, detailing the events that happened yesterday, and of course crediting his students to this achievement.

Yule dropped his mobile device, letting it to the continuous buzzing sound of notifications. He tried to peek at Haruto's bed, cringing for another wave of insults from him due to the noise of his device when he found that his roommate's bed was empty.

He grabbed again his mobile device to send an email to Haruto, worrying at his roommate's whereabouts.

'Please don't tell me your team is still on the Ground,' he clicked sent, waiting for the immediate response of Haruto when his device made a sound again. Thankfully it was from Haruto and read eagerly his reply.

'How dumb are you? Of course, we're back in the city. I'm doing an early training regime, unlike some people who are still slacking on their beds,' Haruto replied which made Yule regret that he checked the status of his roommate.

Shrugging off the negative vibes brought by his ever sour att.i.tude roommate, he rose from his bed and went to the shower. After showering he changed to his school uniform which made him realize that he did not have any casual outfits in his cabinet. He'll just have to buy a pair of casual clothes later after hanging out with Ranger which also reminded him that he needed to go downstairs now to meet him.

He immediately grabbed his old clothes yesterday to bring it to the laundry room before meeting Ranger. After leaving his old clothes at the hands of some cleaning droid (which surprised Yule that he will be meeting in his lifetime an actual robot droid where he only had seen in the movies) in the laundry room. He left the room and went to the lobby downstairs where he was greeted by students flocking his tall friend at the center.
