"Hebe," I called out my familiar name.
Slowly walking to another door leading to what should have been a bathroom. I had converted it to be Hebe's den.
In other words a giant sandbox with a cave and small water feature with a green jade center and a bamboo wheel, giving the room a Zen vibe to it. A sliver desert fox lay sleeping on a bed of green moss, looking very content I hated to wake her but still there was work to be done that I could not possibly do it all alone. Hebe was my most valuable a.s.set. Others use their family as protection but for me, she made up for my shortcomings. I won her in a poker game a few years back while I was running an errand for my aunts. The job was to take the money so the council could step in and make a contract offer signing.
At the end it didn't work out for the council but it did for me. I've been able to maintain a quality lifestyle because every witch can make potions but me and with Hebe I cover a critical flaw.
"Hebe?" I called out her name over again, this time louder than before.
I started opening the fridge. Looking for items I needed to put together a spell and a few complicated potions so I need her input. Even with my large silver potion kit I still wasn't sure what I had to do I could even make a simple c.o.c.ktail.
"Hebe, wake up," I shouted the loudest I could.
There was a moment of silence, while I started getting some things down from the shelves. I check the bottles and we found out that were low on chocolate bars again. They were my main source of power. An luxury I had to afford.
Signing in deep, I know that another shopping trip would hinder my budget, even cripple it. I know I have cash infusion from to large sales but the inflation was making things pricy.
"h.e.l.lo, Hebe!" I said, louder. "Turn human, Now!"
In moments a small adorable sliver fox jump out of the pocket door. A sliver light appears and a woman with golden tan skin walks out of it. She was beautiful with stunning dark locks and strong features wearing a loose kimono with the many colors of the sun weaved into it. The silk was the fines that were ever made and it paled against Hebe. She was just that beautiful.
Too bad my last life she died of a broken heart. Kane was the other part she kept denying herself. In the end, we didn't save him in time. This life is going to be different.
