Shifting on to the barstool, I crossed my legs and propped my elbow on the polished wooden surface that stretched along one side of the renovated warehouse. I had to wait this time, as I did not do a real stand up job. Managing to only plant three spells it was adding variables of the unknown, a big risk that I would not have usually taken.

Not that it was going to cause any real problems just minor inconvenient. It required supervision. An important job involving vampires and hunters, there was no room for error. The creatures as I call them would stab you in the back any opportunity.

The bartender raises an eyebrow and I nodded. It was time to buy myself another drink but I don't want to pay too much I remembered a silent auction that I may be able to attend. It wasn't even worth my money. Alcohol didn't really affect me but it helps me fit. Especially staying out of the human radar like the bartender before me and the guy from before. A girl sitting without a drink always stood out.

The gla.s.s slide over and I caught it. I took a deep pull on my icy drink, forced myself to set it down. I was wallowing a little. This was not how I should be spending Friday night.

"You came back to see me tonight, didn't you." a voice said next to me.

Turning to give a rebuff, I stopped short when I saw Roy. He was good looking and very tall with black long hair. He was dressed in leather and I swallowed thinking what Knight would look like in his outfit.

It had been some time since he and Diana had broken up. In all the years I've know him, I never seen him look so broken. The fact that he had a large cut on his forehead that hadn't healed help his cause.

"What if it wasn't you I came here to see tonight?" I said pouting.

This was my first time at flirting so it didn't sound right. He smiled nodded, showing off two lovely sets of fangs. For shifters fangs was a reflection of power, more fangs more power. My aunts told me that there shifters with more fangs but most didn't live pa.s.sed the deviation.

"Well, ya' got lucky." he asked ordering two more drinks.

"Here y'are, baby. Take this, wipe the lipstick off, slide over here next to me and let's get started." I said handing him a napkin.

A proud grin curled my lips, but I hid it by taking a drink of my whiskey. I was really enjoying myself. It's been a long time I've talk to someone. Most of the people I know are dead. Or had choosen to seal themselves off from the world. I hate to say it but the future was a lot more bleak than would like to believe. It reminded me that I needed to beef up my powers.

"Hold the sugar baby, You are sweet enough."

Roy sounded sweet enough, I knew he was playing as he was in love with Diana. Everyone were drawn to her like moths to a flame. She had quite the crowd of followers all ready to give up anything for her, willing to risk their life for her.
