"Speaking of the seat," Hale said, "M and I are in a rush to met a certain blond beauty."
"You are?"
The Malik's gaze flickered over to me before returning to Knight. It was like he was a.s.sessing something I knew sooner or later they'll find out our secret but I didn't want it to be today.
"Not me," Knight said. "My love and I are getting to know each other. I may know her but she needs time."
"Don't they all?"
"It's either just the casual relationship or they want kids," Hale said chuckling,
It made me paused. Didn't he know we were mates?
"It is a bit confusing at times." said Knight, "But with Gene, it's forever."
That was not in our agreement. I would even be brave enough to claim forever with him. The man was going to find his mate eventually.
"Mates," the Malik said smiling showing of his teeth.
Knight's fingers left my arms to tug the zeal opal necklace putting on display after all this was where the stone really came in handy. Below it was the Yoit's heirloom pendant. The two complement each other well. It looks completed like made out as a set, not two different pieces from a different time.
Normally, the heart stone usually only glowed when to mates were together but this was different. It made me into something that I could only dream of and I felt sad that it was not real.
Hale gave a low whistle and the Malik studied the stone for a long moment. It was clear they were not expecting proof of our commitment but with given. There wasn't much to question other than why Knight had done it. After all most would hide their mate until an heir was born that she'll see the light of day. I've heard more stories of it than I could tell you in a week. It is my dream to find a male so in love with me that without me his world would end.
Life just got complicated. I held my tongue as I walk out to the car. We had finished business at the auction but Knight had one more appointment he needs done. I know it was not the best thing to go along with him but I didn't have a choice. We were being fallowed. I don't know if it was the Malik or Hale or any other enemy we had out there but we need to be seen together.
So I was going to spend more time with him. Then I had original thought and it terrified me. I really was never used to having people around.
