"Oh, are you talking about Faerie's Cove?!" Miceter's tiny eyes immediately lit up, filled with happiness and a sense of pride. "That's my favorite place too! The waterfall is not too big and not to loud; the water is as clear as gla.s.s. The fish that swim within are quaint but gorgeous nonetheless. And the flowers! They frame the perimeter of the waterfall and the river that it makes. They almost look like gems!"
"They're red, green, yellow..." I listed a variety of colors that described the flowers.
"Violet, magenta, blue and other enchanting colors!" Miceter excitedly continued for me.
I smiled. "The Faeries I met were particularly kind. Have you met them? Or did they go North after the war between Gordan's Kingdom and the Prosperous Kingdom?"
Miceter excitedly nodded his head. "They're still there! Definitely! Last time I went to Faerie's Cove, they gave me a piece of Jewel Fruit!"
"That's wonderful to hear." I smiled before emitting a great yawn, covering my mouth with a delicate paw. Then I laid down on the ground, resting my head on my paws. "I think it's about time that we go to bed. It's been a terribly long day for the both of us."
Miceter stopped, seeming to remember something before letting out a small yawn. His eyelids began to droop as he began to blink tiredly. "Yeah, you're right." After what seemed to be a moment of consideration, Miceter finally summoned up his courage to ask: "Mister, do you mind if I sleep with you tonight? The nights have been getting colder, you see, because Winter is coming. And since, you know, I'm small and don't have a lot of fur like you do, I get cold easily."
"Sure." I closed my eyes to make it seem like I was about to doze off.
Miceter, after receiving my confirmation, crawled his way underneath my stomach, leaving his small head to poke out.
"Good night, Mister."
"Night."
I finally opened my eyes again after Miceter fell asleep.
I do have to admit, I feel a bit guilty lying to Miceter about Faerie's Cove. But, even though I have never personally seen the place and met it's people, judging by how Miceter reacted, I guess I could make a safe a.s.sumption that the place is not that bad.
So, here's my plan for the next few days:
1. Gain Miceter's trust.
How do I accomplish this? I find things that Miceter likes and make it seem like I know and appreciate the same things he does. This will not only deepen our connection, but also the amount of trust Miceter has towards me. Despicable, I know, but it's for Miceter's sake!
2. Find Zed.
Like I previously mentioned, I have to let Miceter go before I get too emotionally attached. Also, Zed is more capable compared to me when it comes to security.
3. Find and Follow Thomas Hark.
After I have dealt with Miceter's matter, I will have to search the whole of Prosperous Kingdom so I can accomplish the task the System gave me. However, I will try my best in my teachings so that the end of the world does not happen.
So that's my plan!
Hopefully it all works out...
Oh c.r.a.p, my thoughts are becoming a bit pessimistic...
QUICK! LOOK AT THE SKY!
I jerked my head up, searching for something to distract myself. What met my urgent gaze was a sight I would never forget for the rest of my life.
Two gorgeous moons laid in the night sky like creamy pearls on a black silk cushion. The stars twinkled in the sky, not in any way inferior compared to the moon. The stars emitted a soft white light that filled the heart with a special type of comfort and warmth. I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as I stared at the night sky.
For my first night in the world of Forgoe, it was enchanting and inviting. Deep down, in my heart, I knew that everything would be alright.
